Middlesbrough (H) 1-2 - Post-Match Thread

What's even more shocking is thinking you can get away with that kind of behaviour in this day and age when everybody has a camera/video recorder in their pockets. Imagine not thinking you're going to get banned/arrested/sacked from work etc. -
JJ is a baffling one for me. He went from one of the top full backs in the Premier League, to a player that looks iffy at times in the Championship. I'm not sure if I remember correctly but I'm sure he used to overlap and take on defenders with pace? Now he jogs to the half way line, stops and passes backwards or sideways. His passing range and ability is so limited too. He's not as quick as he was either. I fear that injury really ended him as a top quality player.

Just don't lose please. On form, and at Elland Road, I can't see anything other than a loss to be honest. Summerville will have our CBs on toast.

Sorry what? Vestegaard's header from the corner, Daka's header, Vardy over the bar from 5 yards, Vestegaard blasting over from 6 yards. They stick out in my mind but there may have been others. -

It's as simple as this: Boro had very few chances and buried 2 of them clinically. We had at least 4 where it was easier to score than miss, and we missed. Boro well and truly shithoused that. Fair play to them. -
I'm at the game. We were on top and missed a couple of very good chances (Vestegard, Daka). Sucker punched for the goal. Looked miles offside in real time. Sucker punched again for 0-2. Middlesbrough defending well and were clinical with the goals, this would be one hell of a smash and grab.

Anybody else been perpetually ill this winter? I'm currently on my 6th cold since the start of October! It feels like 2 weeks off 1 week on for me recently. I've always been prone to colds and get them quite severely but I've never had them anywhere like this frequently. I'm 30 by the way so I'd hope it's not my immune system giving up already.

I don't remember who used to take them after Mahrez left and before Madison was a regular, but somehow I remember the days of Paul Gallagher.
-
We never turned up at Hillsborough and they've improved quite a bit since then. As with every game this season if we play to the best of our ability we have enough to win, but we can't take anything for granted.

I thought Southampton got to play Rotherham, Stoke and Plymouth on repeat all season? 🤔
-
Mediocre performance, but who cares really, it's all about the points. Recover and put Wednesday to the sword.
-
Just me wanting Ipswich to win? There's no way in hell they're catching us and I'd much rather see them promoted than Southampton and Leeds.
-
Problem is you'd then be stuck paying them disability benefits for the rest of their lives 😂

The only weakness I think Mads has is coming to collect crosses when he's being crowded.. but that's me being picky. The guy is class. Will be interesting to see how he does next season when he's called into action a lot more.
-
This is exactly what the 'moaners' wanted to see. Going for the throat and scoring for fun rather than sitting back on a slender lead against dogshit opposition. Excellent performance.
-
Perfectly good tackle on WInks that
-
The ref that red carded Fats was a demoted PL ref so it explains the discrepency I guess
-
Ipswich absolutely folding now. Looks like it's going to be a Southampton vs Leeds battle for 2nd.

First away game this season I've not managed to find a decent stream sadly.

I thought he was referring to coffin dodgers but I could be wrong

I do think there is some deliberate misunderstanding of fans frustrations in here. I'm not a GERRIT FORWUD merchant by any means, however I do get frustrated with the negative decisions our players often take. There's been plenty of occasions where a promising attack is developing after beating the opponents press and we stop, turn back to our own goal and repeat the Faes-Vesty-Mads loop. Some players (like JJ for example) don't seem to be able to make a forward pass. I understand anybody being frustrated watching us play at times this season. Who knows, perhaps last night in the absence of a dodgy penalty we might have found ourselves looking at another 1-1 after refusing to put a dreadful Swansea side to the sword. That being said, it in no way excuses the dreadful atmosphere. Our fans are a weird bunch in that such a large amount of them don't seem to actually want to be there, it's as if going down the City is part of a community service sentence or something.
-
Equally, has there ever been a team objectively so successful that is as bad to watch at this one? 😂
-
Such a weird game, it ended up fairly comfortable but for large parts of the game it was really poor and lackadaisical. We really are shit to watch at times but you can't argue with the points on the board.
-
I'm at the game. Good first 5 minutes and last 5 minutes. The middle 35, walking football. Ponderous, negative and quite frankly boring. Swansea are dreadful, we absolutely have to kill them off. Drawing this would be a terrible result.
