If we genuinely have been interested in Dyche, Martin and Rohl then we're in massive trouble to be quite honest. Not even because of the quality of any of those but because all three are drastically, drastically different and it demonstrates the board have no idea how big a problem that is. It is worth stating that players under the age of 18 can only sign contracts for a maximum of 3 years and the earliest he can sign is his 17th birthday and even if he's obligated to sign a professional contract at the end of his scholarship (which surely can't be legal?) there'd be nothing to stop him refusing to sign for anything more than a year and leaving on a free at the end of it. All this really does is give us breathing room to continue to develop him until he's 17 and maybe tie him up for a short while after that. If he turns out to be an absolute super-star he could still end up getting poached for criminally little money and in the best case scenario for us (a full three year contract after he turns 17) he'd still be free of any obligations to us by 20.

Honestly no. I hate end of season stuff. It's been so dire I genuinely want the break from football. Champions League final should be the end of the year, all of this post-season friendlies, post-season club tournaments, post-season internationals, absolute muck. Don't want any of it. Obviously the World Cup or the Euros is an exception but even then you get a bit of a break before that starts don't you.

Narh. In an ideal world, sure, but it's not. We need to overhaul the squad too much and still need to try to minimise the spend. We're going to have to bite the bullet and use a couple of quality loans even if that means developing other people's players. You earn the right to not do that and currently we've lost it.

I will be astonished if we sign anyone before we have a manager, given we delegate far too much transfer power to the manager. Rudkin has no idea how to build the squad on his own.
