  1. Do agree about KDH but as mentioned above, they want rid of Gallagher for 100% profit given what they've spent over the last few years.
  2. A really stupid quirk of FFP and amortisation is that Leicester and Chelsea could basically agree to sell Gallagher and KDH to each other for the exact same fee and both clubs would "profit" this season. Let's say we both sell for £50m and give them 5 year contracts, both players cost the buying clubs £10m this year but both clubs gain the full £50m immediately because they're locally produced players with no existing book value, so 100% profit. So sadly this motivates clubs to sell off their own, home grown, local, iconic talent that really they should be encouraged to keep. Leicester and Chelsea would just gain similar players but they'd be doing it for the £40m transfer profit in this season's books to help with the rolling FFP windows and the holes they might be in from the last couple of years. It's absolutely stupid but eh. That's the rules.
  3. I'll be really honest, as long as the fee is what it SHOULD be and we don't get our pants pulled down then I'm actually pretty keen for this transfer to happen. I genuinely think he's an extremely valuable goalkeeper and we should be looking at massive profit if Chelsea want him. We need to start getting back to these kinds of turn arounds where we buy a young kid for peanuts and then flog him on to the Big Six for an absolutely massive wedge. It's how the club recovers financially. If we've got a choice between keeping KDH and keeping Hermansen for the upcoming season, I'm sorry but you keep the star midfielder that's just been your player of the season. As much as I think the footballing world has learned not to underestimate the impact of a good goalkeeper (and we all saw first hand last time we were in the Prem how disastrous a bad one can be), we can probably replace Hermansen for roughly what we paid for him and still get a pretty solid all round shot-stopper. His value comes from his ability with his feet and quite frankly that'll be way less of a priority to us this year.
  4. It is a bit depressing that we've got so many pages just full of grown adults doing **** all but trashing someone's physical appearance.
  5. "Are you not entertained"
  6. Wow. I actually got this entirely without Google translate. Jeg er virkelig dansker.
  7. What's better about that is that Marinos are in the City Football Group so you could bullshit some loose ties to Pep and Man City.
  8. He clearly learned everything he needs! His Greek is pretty brilliant too. "TOO MUCH MALAKIA!!!"
  9. I mean if that's what you want in a manager I can think of someone fiery enough with a perfect grasp of the beauty of the English language. "Rino, how would you rate Jannik Vestergaard's performances this season?"
  10. It's 2024. I started this thread nearly 18 years ago. It's almost old enough to vote. I just wanted to say, it's been all that time and this is still the greatest film ever made...
  11. There's honestly a part of me that wants to put £15 on Dennis Wise just for the bit.
  12. Mate it's just football. Enjoy the summer, see your family and friends, get outdoors, live your life. The season will come back round soon enough, we could probably all do without the lcfc stress for a few weeks. The club aren't rushing a decision and it's probably for the best they don't, this is a good thing. Rushing is how you end up with the first panic option that appears. It's nice that they're actually taking their time and sticking to a philosophy. The players aren't back in training yet, the recruitment team will have a vision regardless of who the head coach is and all of that is fine.
  13. Can we please, please, get like a pinned locked post in the forum saying the odds on next managers don't mean a ****ing thing and please stop over reacting to them. Wouldn't surprise me if it ends up being a manager not even on the list. There's no chance of it being Cooper or Moyes, we'd probably have already hired them if it was. Every manager we've recruited since Shakespeare has played possession based football, the club has repeatedly said it wants to play possession based football, we just hired a relatively unknown assistant manager from more or less obscurity. We're far more likely to do that again than recruit David Moyes or Steve Cooper who do not play possession based football.
  14. I don't really think it makes him a hypocrite I think people are absolutely trying their ****ing hardest to take this as personally as they possibly can because that's just what people do on the internet in 2024. But an unbelievably good job opportunity came along at a hugely wealthy and powerful club that will change his and his family's lives. The alternative was staying here where he was already publicly dissatisfied and where we're facing massive sanctions that are 100% our own fault. Fair ****s to him. If you're salty at anyone, be salty at the club. Think he'd be far more inclined to stay here if we hadn't essentially lied to his face when he joined.
  15. Pretty sure that's deliberately implying tone to the statement that the club really don't intend so that this guy can be a sassy bitch on social media, to be honest. Think it just reads like "we made so much progress this year, just think what we could have done if he stayed, but alas."
  16. Bit different really though isn't it. Luke Thomas is a bottom half Championship player desperately in need of a club to give his career some fresh impetus and confidence. We really aren't the home for him. VK has just qualified for the Champions League.
  17. That's partly on the fanbase. To be fair, Enzo did very little wrong until he left. A good 90% of the criticisms of him were stupid af. I'd love to know how those people think David ****ing Moyes would have made football in the Championship exciting and entertaining (let alone winning) when the vast majority of teams in the league saw us coming and immediately parked the bus in their own six yard box for ninety minutes. And then the same ****ing people would moan about "messing around at the back" when the very reason Mads, Winks and Vestergaard pass it around at the back is to try and draw the opponent out so that we CAN counter and they CAN have their exciting fast attacks. Honestly, it doesn't take a student of tactics to work out what's happening on the pitch half the time but a lot of people are still too dense to work it out.
  18. I mean, in fairness, aren't a lot of football personnel still just on holiday? Often think a lot of fans forget that right at the start of the summer.
  19. Not really when you think about it. It's obviously done and dusted, it was pretty much confirmed days ago. All you're waiting for is an official announcement and that's not going to have any impact on us as a club replacing him. We'll have started the process weeks ago. Other than a picture of Enzo holding up a Chelsea shirt and an interview of him talking how it was an opportunity too good to turn down, which none of us really need to watch or look at, there's nothing left. Why let it bother you?
  20. His problem is he isn't a really good player.
  21. Why? Zhang would be lucky to land a punch. He walks like he's got concrete boots on and his hands aren't much faster. He'd get murdered. I remember watching his fight against Hrgovic and really feeling sad about the state of the division outside the top two or three. It's no wonder people got over excited by rubbish like Joyce. Zhang isn't great, Wilder is just bad. He was a one trick pony fed a diet of bums and ringers on his way up to sell this idea of the big scary knock out artist. But he's got zero boxing fundamentals. To make it worse, Fury was sold to him the same way Brits see Andy Ruiz - fat, useless slob. So when he absolutely schools Wilder in the worst way possible it absolutely devastated his confidence. It's taken AJ a long time to recover from Ruiz but way more damage was done to Wilder and the heart is absolutely gone. I think even Tommy Fury would have given him a run for his money tonight. He looked utterly pathetic it was almost sad.
