  1. He plays in the position we most need, he's pretty obviously ready for the step up to Championship football, he'll cost less than we paid for Tom Cannon, we don't have much to spend but we could still definitely afford that. We could 100% win the race for him if we wanted to. But we won't, we'll think he's too big a risk and isn't ready and we won't buy til we sell so he'll already have gone to Swansea before we get Coady, Hermansen or BEK sold. Swansea will buy him for something like 5m after add ons and extras and the worst bit is, they'll then sell him in a year - two at most - time to a club exactly our kinda size for about 15m.
  2. I have no real excitement. That could turn around quite quickly if we make a couple of promising signings and Cifuentes wins his first few games convincingly. Oh and we don't get a points deduction. I haven't felt this disinterested and glum about the club for twenty odd years though. I barely like any of the players, how on earth are you supposed to get excited about watching Ayew, Skipp and Reid play? I wish I could be more excited about the youth players but I've had the optimism beaten out of me, I imagine the vast majority of them need development time at levels below where we're currently at. Even Monga I think needs time to develop physically, think he lacks a yard of pace at the moment that he'll probably grow in to, which is natural. The idea he's ready to come in and be the star? Not yet. Just don't see us having the money to make big enough changes and can't imagine us shifting Faes, Vestergaard, Daka, Soumare and Co who just don't look like they have any fight or belief left in them, even though most of them helped us get promoted last time. Too much of the squad needs to just **** off and get a fresh start elsewhere. When we finally do hire a promising manager, promising couple of players, we throw it all away a year later, waste the opportunity, waste loads more money and spend ourselves in to more PSR trouble buying assets we'll never profit from. We're just rotten from the top down.
  3. My attitude towards Stolarczyk is very much "he'll do." I don't share the excitement about him that some have but he's clearly good enough to fill the gap, especially in the Championship, meaning we can spend any money on more critical positions. He's not as good as Mads but he doesn't need to be. What's important is that we unearth a few more Hermansens, not necessarily goalkeepers but £5m footballers that improve the first team and can be sold on for a large profit.
  4. 20m goes a long way at this level. Even if amortisation wasn't a thing, that would have covered Mavididi, Hermansen, Cannon and Fatawu's loan fee. When you consider amortisation, that would have paid for our entire window last time at this level. Obviously it doesn't really work like that, we already have losses to cover and like @Ric Flair says, the squad is still too big. But I don't necessarily agree we'll need to sell 4 or 5 players before we buy anyone. There's a couple of glaring holes in the squad, in particular we're desperate for a striker, and I can't see us entirely ignoring that if we pocket 25m from Hermansen. Especially if we're confident Bilal and Coady are following him out the door in short order. I just hope we wrap those three up quickly and they don't ****ing drag on all of next week.
  5. The most "makes sense" signing of the summer for anyone tbf. Guy cares more about his media career than playing football. Him and Wrexham are such an obvious fit.
  6. I actually wouldn't be mad if it was a loan with a conditional permanent move if they stay up and we don't go back. Whack on a tidy loan fee of a few million and they pay his wages. Given that we'll probably only make a couple of million profit on him, it'd probably be the best option. Depends if Tav is right about him having this release clause though I guess, which he probably is.
  7. Scratch this, I'm an idiot, I forget we only paid about 5m for him.
  8. Honestly, Tav is tier 1 for Bilal. He obviously talks to his agent, he knew everything about his move here.
  9. Tav might be a plonker but he's the one that broke the story of BEK coming here and ran with it.
  10. Because he had two competent defenders either side of him at Wolves in a 3 and his job was to be the one that's decent on the ball. That's decent on the ball relative to Willy Boly, I mean.
  11. You know it's shit when we won't actually be good enough for Castore
  12. @dillonpanthers87 I very, very rarely moderate anything outside of Transfer Talk but I just removed the latest post you made in the main LCFC section asking why your post was deleted. It was a duplicate of this one and also not really the place to ask the question. Most common reason new threads get removed is because the same conversation is already being had, often multiple times, elsewhere. There are a lot of threads around at the moment with people expressing their disatisfaction with the club and that they feel they don't really want to go anymore, etc. There's a 136 page King Power Out thread at the top of the forum right now, there's a 259 page thread at the top of the forum where people are expressing their anger and disappointment at Jon Rudkin, there's also 6 page thread of people upset that we're doing no transfer business and all of the associated annoyance that comes with that. It's generally considered poor forum etiquette to start new topics ultimately discussing the same stuff on repeat and it isn't uncommon to see your posts get deleted or merged in to them. As an aside, I'm sorry you're not feeling in a good space, as Nalis has said you'll find company and good support in the depression thread but I'd also say that, depending on the sort of person you are, this place also isn't always the best at promoting positive mental health and there's been times where I've personally had to step away for my own good.
  13. I never said it was a good vision
  14. I deserve it
  15. Confucius say, man who must tell internet he doesn't watch porn, definitely pay for @Dr The Singh OnlyFans.
  16. I really don't want to play them first. Remember when we were Champions of England, playing a Hull side with like 2 professional players on their books, in major crisis, had to cobble a team together from blokes they found loitering outside the ground an hour before kick off? Yeah that went well.
  17. I like you and I respect a lot of your opinions even though I've noticed, increasingly, over the last few years that I obviously don't agree with a fair few of them. I can see a certain amount of sanity and sense in some of your socially conservative opinions even if I don't relate. But, if you aren't being deliberately very hyperbolic, this is just silly in the absolute extreme. The porn industry does need to put under a considerable microscope, I do think that far more needs to be done to make sure the exploitation and abuse of performers is eradicated and their rights and safety are protected as much as possible. If these laws were a huge overhaul of the age verification and freedom of performers I'd be in full support. But the idea that all pornography should be banned outright and that it's some serious social danger is just hysterical, Mary Whitehouse nonsense.
  18. I don't really understand how the age verification stuff is supposed to protect children from predators anyway tbh. Who is getting groomed on pornhub? Content was always (supposed to be) age verified, so it's just about who views this shit. Sorry if I'm being a bit naive, I'm not exactly an expert on online grooming, but surely social media and other platforms where you actually communicate with each other are where you're mostly likely going to find predators trying to talk to kids? And you don't need to be age verified to be on TikTok, X, Bkuesky or Reddit do you? You just need age verification to, once again, look at NSFW stuff? It's not really anything to do with predators, it's just all the age old puritanical hand wringing about hiding sex from kids. But I mean, we're several generations in to teenagers growing up looking at Internet porn and most of us are still pretty well adjusted (for the most part...!) Did us far less harm than the bigoted brainwashing that's flying unmoderated around TikTok that's still apparently fine to watch? Personally I'm absolutely livid that I now have to subscribe to a vpn and pretend to be Swiss just to watch @Dr The Singh on his OnlyFans.
  19. Yeh I've just got a 30 day trial with Experian ID Plus. We'll see how that goes. Now I've calmed down a bit, as @RoboFox says, all I've given them is freely enough available for anyone trying hard enough. What they really wanted out of the call was me to book a smart meter fitting and give them card details to pay an installation fee which I obviously didn't and wouldn't do.
  20. Tbf, I can genuinely believe we'd have gone for Cifuentes even if they were both available. His style of play is more consistent with Top's vision for the club, regardless of the fans preferences.
  21. Yeah I'm reading through the Home Office identity theft check list atm. Think Experian is my next step. CIFAS might be overkill. Most of what I've given I think the average fraudster could just lift off people's Facebook or the telephone directory.
  22. I phoned by bank, dude almost laughed and basically said not to worry because they'd need a lot more information than that to get through their security checks these days. I'm not overly concerned about my bank, more what they could sign up to in my name I guess.
  23. Foxestalk is a weird place full of people with all sorts of areas of expertise I might as well throw this out there. I'm genuinely kicking myself. I've just had one of my first real senior moments and I can't quite believe I've done it. I just gave my full name, date of birth, address and post code (in addition to them obviously also knowing my phone number) to someone over the phone that I realised, about two seconds after hanging up, was not in fact E-On and was a scammer. I know, idiot. So wondering if anyone has any relevant experience here, what could someone do with that information and what can I do in advance to protect myself? Follow up question, has anyone ever got themselves CIFAS protective registration, how did that go and would it be an over reaction?
