  1. In a winning team, perhaps not a problem
  2. This season should be the end of him, no question. A complete **** up in all areas. The worst **** up in the history of the club. He's the director of football for God's sake.
  3. This is a culture and operations issue fundamentally, I agree. Enzo (indirectly, through Ballagué) said the same - that a club with elite aspirations has to have an elite mindset throughout the offices AND the training ground. I feel like this was the major contribution of Nigel Pearson, and it's why I'm only half joking when I say we should make Bielsa the manager, DoF and head of recruitment and just hand the whole organisation to him.
  4. Where did this idea that Andy King has any business being a football manager come from?
  5. This didn't cheer me up at all
  6. My point is that it's not worth arguing the toss between 100% bad and 95% bad, when it's very very very bad overall. The performance in the specific game you're talking about is immaterial.
  7. I don't think we can seriously argue the toss over one game when the numbers are this bad. Notwithstanding the recent poor running of the club, we are the worst we have ever been by every metric. That's not vibes, that's stats. Goals scored, goals conceded, points, wins, xG, second balls - Ruud is presiding over some of the worst stats in our history.
  8. That was a massive moment. Wrote him off at that point. Sod Vardy, back yourself and finish it.
  9. Just give the whole thing to Bielsa and let him be DoF, Sporting Director, first team manager and Head of Recruitment
  10. I don't know exactly the answer to the question but on a tangential note I have been looking into the Thai monarchy today and jfc they are an oppressive bunch of bastards. So to be billionaires and pander to the royal family of Thailand the way the family does, I don't like it one bit. When you realise they support a guy who's had someone jailed for 50 years for criticising the monarchy on Facebook, you begin to understand why they don't treat us fans to the time of day. https://www.theguardian.com/world/article/2024/aug/08/thailands-lese-majesty-laws-explained-in-30-seconds https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/may/04/king-vajiralongkorn-who-is-thailand-new-monarch https://www.theguardian.com/world/2024/jan/18/man-jailed-for-record-50-years-for-criticising-thai-monarchy
  11. Imagine getting something like this from any of our lot. A plan. Some clarity. They treat the fans with absolutely no respect.
  12. Discovered this a couple of weeks ago, love it.
  13. Taking KDH out because he was academy, f me there's your problem
  14. So what I'm hearing is, there's a chance?
  15. We've won 7 points under RVN, from a potential 42. So couldn't have been *that* much worse.
  16. It's much simpler than that, I'd had a few beers. I always thought Game of Thrones was a bit camp.
  17. I mean, Rob Tanner has said essentially the same thing as Pipes: that after Vichai died, nobody was added to the board. Top's eye cannot be on the football club as much as it was before because he's got an empire to run. It follows that this has also meant more power in Rudkin's hands. Adding a strong football brain to the board may well be a good move. Add to that the fact that both are journalists who rely on the goodwill of the club for access, on top of the personal connection I mentioned before, and it's not hard to see why Pipes has stopped short of calling for heads to roll.
  18. Rudkin helped him out massively when Pipes was reaching breaking point with his drinking. He's not going to call for him to be sacked because that would be crossing a personal line for him, which I can respect. If you listen to the WYS podcast (should be released today) it will have his actual words post-match, he was as critical as he can be short of that line, and you could tell he had strong emotions on that point.
  19. Needs a Bielsa or Pearson type in a senior, permanent position above the manager. Someone with extensive experience, a complete philosophy and an obsessive approach to the details. Rudkin doesn't have the experience and it's shown since 2018. Too much licence given to managers. Brendan was anointed and given a golden ball and chain bolted to the supporting pillars of our finances. The club put its faith in the wrong man. Unfortunately the board has dug a moat around itself and doesn't look likely to let anybody in to see what exactly is going on inside the castle.
  20. Watching Mavididi jog about on fresh legs made me want to reach through the TV and throttle him
  21. That team gets its pants pulled down again and again down the left flank with no pace in central defence to even begin to cover. Did you see Okoli try to do a job at RB last night? That XI has gaping voids everywhere except the centre of the pitch, where balls over the top see it get carved open again and again. Sadly, we don't have the squad to stop this from happening. I think the only roll of the dice that might work would be to go to a 3 and get Facundo and Bilal together behind a top 2. Something like Mads Okoli Vesty Coady Ricardo Facundo Ndidi Bilal Kristiansen Vardy Daka Maybe work Coulibaly in on the left or right
  22. That's right, give their PA's a headache that'll show them
