  1. He clearly kicks Vardy with no attempt to play the ball. Foul anywhere else on the pitch.
  2. I was 21 at the time. The crush when the goals went in - unbelievable. Still got the newspaper with the famous picture of Joe Waters in bed next morning reading the papers. In my mums loft somewhere with 10 years of scrapbooks. We could have drawn Burnley or Newcastle in the semi final, but just like eight years later got the toughest team left!
  3. We’ll opt for a Spoonies central ish. Breakfast at 830-9am, couple of hours chilling and then probably tube it to Fulham Broadway. Walk to Earls Court station coming home.
  4. I’ve been on the mackems forum and not too many say they deserved anything. Also most agree no penalty. Too obvious he threw himself.
  5. KDH appears to be carrying an injury to me, same as I thought Saturday. He’s defo not 100%, but maybe all we’ve got in that position.
  6. Lost to two very late goals. Frank Burrows manager, pending the arrival of one Ian Holloway,
  7. So unlucky that night!
  8. We do miss some really simple chances. Daka had two absolute gimmes in the last two league games. The Boro headed miss from a few yards and obviously the simple shot at Leeds. I know he was unlucky with the offside. Probably cost us six points and we could all have relaxed!
  9. No normal train service that weekend. Looks like between 3 hours and 6 hours journeys, with bus journeys included. Planned maintenance. Looks like the M1 gonna be busy.
  10. You don’t have to go by the organised buses about 3 to 4 hours before kick off. I know Rome quite well and me and my two lads (in their 40’s) just walked the 21/2 miles via the odd bar. We had our our city tops so got a few mostly good natured comments, but when we were about 1/2 mile from the ground got ordered by the police to take them off until we reached the away end. Just as well, as we had to walk past the home end, which was like scene out of Gladiator, a couple of thousand ultras, many holding 10ft by 5ft flags and really getting into the spirit of the occasion. The buses back are a bind. Drove round in circles for best part of an hour. Dumped at the Termini early hours of the morning with all bars shut in the area.
  11. We created at least four of the easiest clear cut chance’s you will see all season, and unbelievably missed them all. Leeds match won’t define our season, it could define theirs. Let’s try and be positive! I know it’s Foxestalk, but we are in a great position.
  12. I like him too, but whilst he linked up well first half, he fell away badly as second half wore on. Three mistakes in quick succession; thought he got tired. Not fully match fit? Obvious substitution.
  13. Go and support somebody else
  14. Bit unfair. But I agree he is lightweight and I always worry when he’s in the team. But sometimes he surprises you.
  15. Fantastic effort by the lads. Surely nobody can complain about a 5-0 away win!
  16. Could they challenge the legality of the charter. They could say they had no choice but to sign away an avenue of possible support or assistance. Any business that makes you sign something to your possible disadvantage is a bit suspect to say the least. I’m not sure now, but I believe in the early days of UEFA, teams had to sign an undertaking never to take UEFA to court. Whilst FFP seems on the face of it a good thing, stopping countries like Saudi just taking over teams and spending endless cash and basically ending football as we know it, it does fly in the face of EU competition rules. Denying a business the right to invest as it sees fit. I can’t see Man City ever being punished, but can see UEFA facing serious financial problems if the Man City saga drags on for years and years.
  17. Thanks. Thought they chose these quite quickly, but we’ll see.
  18. Why the delay in advising ko time?
  19. A lot of our fans just love slagging the team off. It’s second nature to them. They love creating future problems. Why they are even talking about next year is stupid. Let’s get out of this league first. Enzo’s plan seems to be working. Just take the wins. I don’t go to enjoy a game of football, I go to see my team win. I would take 17 scrappy wins to see this season out. I remember under Brian Little we shipped goals for fun but kept a winning run going. Quite a few 3–2 wins, but nobody bitched they were just glad of the win. The current generation can’t accept mistakes and the fact the players are human and playing to a system dictated by the manager.
  20. Fully agree. Millwall huffed and puffed but never had the openings we fashioned. Cannon should have had three, missing a couple of gilt edged chances, Albrighton missed a clear rebound and Casadei could have had three as well if his shooting was as accurate as his heading. Millwall had no real quality in the final third and scored from two poor defensive efforts by us. Their crowd were pathetic and didn’t support their team much. The much vaunted difficult place to go was not evident today.
  21. Yes, agree. Ok going forward, but looks vulnerable when linking up centrally when we are playing out from the back. First touch when facing our goal can be heavy. Just needs coaching in this area.
  22. Wilf was shattered. He’d run his socks off. He’s not fully fit. Plus he’s definitely carrying some sort of injury hangover.
  23. The 13/14 team only really came good around Christmas onwards. After the Doncaster loss, the key game for me was QPR (Nugent / Squirrel day) away when Vardy scored a very good goal in the 1-0 win. We had just lost a couple away on the bounce from memory. If we had got turned over that day against a title contender the season may have panned out differently. One of my favourite away games that season, although Bolton was emotional with Dyer’s winner. Let’s see what the the current team does after Christmas. They should have got the hang of the system by then and start putting away the many chances we are making.
  24. They just like to moan and say I told you so. I have never watched Leicester in 62 years to be entertained, I go to watch us win. If we get entertained that is a bonus. People go on about the MON years but we were served plenty of dross in his day. We won the league cup against Tranmere with a simply atrocious performance against a well inferior team, but we won end of. We’ve always had plenty of boring matches over the years, if you want gung ho football you are currently watching the wrong team. I’m in SK2 and don’t have too much time for SK1 bearing in mind their anti over 60’s stance, but to be fair they did put in a shift today. I don’t normally hear them, but they were audible today. This season, I know it’s not an easy watch at times, but if you’re going to go just to moan when you know what’s coming, just don’t bother. Better off without you,
  25. He may have been wide, but it wasn’t difficult to direct the chip towards the gaping goal. Personally thought for a professional player it was a poor effort. If he’d been on his game and hungry that ball would have been in the back of the net. Anyway, it’s history now, but agreed every facet of his performance found wanting.
