I know I’ll get slaughtered, but I think WYS is total rubbish. We’re at a football match not a funeral, totally uninspiring. Boring as hell particularly the JB version. Hopefully the players never hear it. I’ve been going 60 years and can’t understand why people would want to sing such a downbeat song. it’s not the words, it’s the arrangement. Painful listening to our rendition, you’ve obviously had a skinful if you think it’s sang well and uplifting.

If you can do the 2045 Wednesday night Stansted to Pisa. Then 4am train Thursday gets into Rome 0820, via Florence. Flights were £28 return and train about the same. Sleep on the train, saves on a hotel.

When I was there with England in 97, 0-0, we were held back three hours. When we were allowed out, no taxis, no buses; we all had to walk back. Long journey back to Hotel Napoleon by Piazza Vittorio Emanuel II, near the Termini. Locals were riding around on scooters, the pillion guys waving knives around, but basically all for show. Might have changed with the current generation though!

Nipped over for the Milan derby in January 2020 and also a match at Verona. Only had to show passport at the San Siro, but did a proper check on outside perimeter only.

Yes, we’re flying in to Pisa midnight Wednesday and will be changing trains at Florence, catching either the cheaper 0545 or much faster 0600. Either way we’ll be in Rome by just after 8am.

We’re going down by train. Was gonna book on Saturday, but thought I’d wait for the well publicised train fare sale! Went back in this afternoon and every fair is the same or more. EMR have previous in ignoring govt directives. Anyway booked five on the same train as before at the same price. £30 return pp so not too bad.

Strangely a pretty meaningless game, unless you think we can win all our remaining games to sneak seventh place. Probably the most stressless game this season. Think the main focus this next week should be Everton away. Much more important to win there and help send those scumbags down. Probably biased because they are the team I despise the most in the league. No time for them.

Disappointing. Not like the club need the money. £25 nobody would complain. I don’t normally criticise the City, but surprised at the pricing. Not in touch with the real world.

Ditto, but we’ve paid £15 each way to Pisa! Wednesday evening arrive at 2355, Pisa train at 4am, arrive Rome Termini at 8am, full day in the capital. Will have a Kip on train. Save on a hotel. Flying home Friday 1900 hrs, so got a bit of time to chill until early afternoon. Bit of travelling, but three of us and saving £400, plus have good memories. Can’t wait, been to Rome a dozen times, love the place.

Does anyone know what happened to the 10 year old lad caught up when about six /seven rows toppled forward on the right hand side of our section, literally seconds before we equalised. We had half dozen worse for wear fans near us, pushing and shoving and one of them on about row 8 or 9 launched himself onto two fans in front of him causing a domino effect. Anyway about a dozen people sent flying, but the trouble was a young lad about six feet from me got his face planted on the back of the seat in front of him, stood up and blood everywhere on his lips, nose and cheeks and obviously he was crying and scared shitless. The perpetrator was upside down on his back and the lads Dad proceeded to lay into him. My lad tried to break it up because it looked like it might turn nasty and eventually it calmed down. Anyway all fallers missed the goal, but my main question is, is the young boy Ok. Hopefully all superficial.

Such a talented team. As a young teenager, my mates and I would often walk to home games from Oadby, two of us taking it in turns to carry a large city flag down to town. Different times but great memories. Nobody slagged off the City in those days, the players had real hero status on the 60’s.

Kante’s little dink up the line has cost them, 3-0 up get rid. Surprisingly poor decision.

Says on the relevant websites possible spot checks only. In reality I’m not expecting any hassle as we are transiting and they will have expected all the passport / health checks to have been carried at point of entry into the EU.

TBF to Hamza he rarely lets us down and I think he is worth keeping on. Personally think he is improving.
