You’re hitting your head against a brick wall. We had a better fan base 14 years ago in Division Three. I’ve been to many away games and it is clear that there is an underlying hope from many who attend away games (I won’t call them fans) that we lose games so they can instigate and ferment unrest and trouble. Arsenal away was an absolute disgrace at half time, anybody defending the team got a kick in on the concourse. I’ve been following the City home and away for 60+ years, this is the most toxic unforgiving fans I’ve ever encountered. Winning is all that matters, anything else and all hell breaks loose. I feel sorry for the players. I’m surprised that any of them want to stay. Hopefully they don’t read all the hate on FT.

Col, know what you mean, but in 60 years of supporting Leicester, apart from a couple of exceptions there has never been any real consistency from any manager. (Except under McLintock and Taylor!!) Even when we won the league we had a spell in March / April of not playing well but grinding out 1-0 wins. Under both Bloomfield and MON we were brilliant one week and crap the next. It’s the nature of supporting the city. Sure we’ve got really talented players, but most of the league has as well. If there is a better manager out there, tell me who it is. Don’t forget that every available name has been sacked at one time or another for having a poor run of results and being slagged off by supporters.

Second half we had to manage the game and not give too much away. If we had gone hung go on the attack and conceded FT would have gone in to melt down re lack of game management, players don’t care, blah blah blah, etc. Granted Leeds were really poor, but we closed down well. Obviously still a lot of unforced errors, but the lads played with tenacity and some decent moments. Gathering points is the key and they did that admirably tonight. Clean sheets may not always win you games, but you tend not to lose either.
-
That’s when your team need you. Seems a lot of our so called supporters would rather start slagging the team off from minute one than cheer them on.

The best long term outcome for the club is if we get some true supporters who can take the rough with the smooth.

England pre world cup squad - Today 2pm
BoyJones replied to AjcW's topic in General Football and Sport
To be fair Italy, England and Germany all look devoid of ideas. No spark, no tempo, almost just going up through the motions. I think these games are still seen as friendlies. -

Typical Sterling. Mr Casual, no urgency, just beat the keeper. -
You obviously don’t support Leicester. They put in a shift, lost albeit to a poor United team, but I applauded them off. If we do go down, maybe glory hunters like you will do one.

Still showing over 200 left, which means around only 150-200 have gone in the 540 band. My lads who are all in the 550’s were sweating; obviously not as popular as previous seasons.

Surely they are entitled to their point of view. Basically kicked out of their seats by the vocal minority. I saw the loudmouths covered themselves in glory yesterday at half time. Fighting with other city fans and the police. Shameful behaviour. It’s like the clackers, 80% of the supporters happy to use them; bloke near me has a dodgy arm and likes them, but he doesn’t count, as per it’s the loud aggressive selfish minority that got their way.

Couldn’t agree more. Anthony Taylor is very, very poor. Lost control of the game. It’s his fault we saw ugly scenes. You don’t need VAR if you are actually focusing on the game. Of course, even though Mike Dean has retired he still has to be the centre of attention. Watching football for over 60 years I can’t think of a worse referee.

I’ve already booked the 0743, just hope the so and so isn’t cancelled!

Exactly right. I’ve been going since 1961 and have had a season ticket all this century and most of the 1970’s, until marriage and several ankle biters took financial priority. Because I’m 70 this summer, does it mean I must give way to a “youngster”? We have been a family of five season ticket holders for 25 years, but a sixth member of the family now aged 42 worked Saturdays all his life until last summer. He joined as a member last year, knowing he would have to bide his time and build up points. He has renewed this year now has 30 points. He is hopeful of having 42-50 points by the end of this season to give him a chance in the next ballot. If you are serious about wanting a season ticket, you have to accept it’s a two / three year journey; which soon goes by. Just be patient and committed and you will get that ST!!

Yes, referee and VAR clearly have their own agenda. Was a pen in real time and even more so seeing the VAR pictures. Bit like the Huddersfield decisions, they’re not interested in the actual rules of football.

I know I’ll get stick, but one of my favourite players. I value skill over effort. I know KDH is flavour of the month and I think he will become a top player, but his first touch is normally poor, his passing is iffy, but everyone salivates over him because he’s a local lad. He will come good, but was poor today, should have got hooked earlier. Perez is exceptionally talented, can be a bit light weight I accept, but once you fall foul of the SK1 / UFS toxic posters, you’ll get hounded out of the club.

Thinking the same😂

Season Ticket Renewal (Price Increase) 2022/23
BoyJones replied to Yes N'Didi's topic in Ticket News and Travel
When I renewed my families five ST, it just went straight to payment, no delivery option? My confirmatory email says Delivery Method: Not Applicable -
Off to New Road Saturday. Hopefully we’ve started well over the first two days and well in the game. Maybe a chance for the batsmen, Worcester have the least bowling points I believe.

Same referee?

Off to Kidderminster to see the play off semi final against Boston United. Lived in Boston 88-93 and used to go to their matches which didn’t clash with the City. Went to a few away games as well during that period. Tough game tonight, but fingers crossed.

Just bought one, there were two left on the website two hours ago.

All good thanks, as long as I’m breathing I’m happy. There were two of us on monitors, as soon as the medics said to the other guy maybe hospital, he ripped off his wires and stickers and legged it. Don’t like to mouth off, but around us there were loads of fans who had just come for the craic. Just found it so frustrating. I’m so desperate for Leicester to win, I get wound up when anybody even leaves early for a half time drink or gets back late. The fans were nearly as bad at Eindhoven when I saw a 10 year face planted onto a seat in front when a pissed city fan purposely caused a 10 row collapse. Blood everywhere. On our scenic bus journey back to the Termini, fans on our coach we’re ripping off advertising posters. Why!!!! Anyway, it is what it is. Both manager, team and fans need to up their game.

What disappointed me the most was the away end and our support. Should have been cheering start to finish and this is from a 70 year old. Very intermittent and spasmodic. Me and my lads were sick to death of loads pushing past us every five minutes to get a drink of go for a piss. I said to one drunk, why did you bother coming to the game! What was the point of singing Ranieri’s name, waste of effort, living in the past. That moment has long gone, the match in front of us was a lot more important. At the end of the match not many people were gutted, all smiling and chatting. Of all my European trips probably the worst away end. I was so wound up, ended up with the medical team at the end of the come on a heart monitor. Anyway, we lost a game of football and now move on, but I think some of our so called fans need to have a look at themselves. Accept this point of view won’t go down well with the younger generation, but a lot let themselves down Thursday.

Druids Den and then Fiddlers Elbow have always been my favourite gaffs in Rome. Small and cosy. We once got interviewed by Ray Stubbs in the Druids Den before an England game. Never got shown, too much good natured swearing. He actually was a decent laugh. Currently drinking in a piazza in Pisa awaiting the 0223 to Roma! Arrived at midnight.

And date of birth!!
