  1. I thought he was poor first half, moved the ball slowly and took the safe option constantly. Might be the midfield not showing, but as captain he should be setting the tone. He was too safe and too slow. Their winger and left back gave him problems too Second half he was much better, quicker to engage their players, made some crucial blocks and has got his ‘fro to thank for stopping a certain goal Huddersfield was similar, won goal of the season, gave away a daft penalty. That sums up Hamza, sometimes good, sometimes bad. he goes from an 8 to a 3 in the same game all the time. I don’t trust him at right back, certainly one that doesn’t invert. Not positionally good aware enough and doesn’t give you anything going forward
  2. Might print off some stickers of Jez Corbyn growing Marrows with the LCFC badge on I agree though, always makes me uncomfortable mixing politics and football. Thatcher chants at Anfield and the like. Leaves a bad taste. Football should be escape from the shit-show of daily life
  3. Bertrand was on The Business of Sport podcast the other week, and in between a lot of waffle about money and cars and all sorts of sickening things about wealth they discussed his weekly wages, When he left Chelsea he was on £50k a week When he moved to Southampton he went up to £60k, or £60 something as he called it But his biggest deal was, wait for it….£120k a week. He doesn’t say it was us, but it obviously is. He signed another contract 18 months in at Southampton but there’s no way they would have doubled his money at that point. It’s us, and that contract is as a big a clue as any as to why we are in the position we are in. His display in the first half against Napoli is one of the most disgusting performances I’ve ever seen from a professional footballer
  4. I like how Marti has handled Bilal so far, and how honest he’s been when asked about him. I don’t think he’ll be involved on Friday for the same reasons he wasn’t involved against Charlton. If he doesn’t leave then I fully expect him to be straight back in the team against Oxford, and I think that goes for Winks too. Faes is a strange one, I can’t quite tell if he’s not playing him because of a potential move or because he’d rather have a Vesty/Okoli partnership, but it wouldn’t shock me if against Oxford we’ll see the “best XI” as Marti sees it
  5. Can’t say I’ve watched much of Birmingham under Davies. Only their game against Ipswich. They were aggressive and gave the opposition very little time on the ball. Stansfield and Kyogo looked lively and you could clearly see they were riding the crest of a wave after breaking all records in league one We need to match their energy and physicality, Marti needs to bring out the counter-press he was taking up in pre-season, and what we implemented against Fiorentina. If we’re passive and move the ball slowly I fear for this Need the crowd to be with the players, give Rudkin pelters obviously but be loud and give the players a lift. Should be giving Davies stick too, he was more than complicit in our first relegation
  6. Enzo won the first 4. But did lose the last game before international break against Hull. I was thinking about those 4 games after the win yesterday. Coventry, Huddersfield, Cardiff, Rotherham. Performance wise, nothing special, three 2-1 wins, late goals and a fair few chances given away. it was after the international break, and after the window closed that the team started to click, it’s far too early to judge Marti yet and I’m shocked (but not surprised) by some of the posts on here. There’s a lot to be angry at the club for, but aiming that at Marti in anyway is massively short sighted
  7. Worst is without a doubt Kermorgants Although he was decent
  8. The problem with Faes, Vestergaard, Soumare and Daka is that, on the pitch at least, they are synonymous with everything that has gone wrong over the last 3 years. That won’t change, it doesn’t matter how many times you tell people Vestergaard didn’t play a single league minute during our first relegation season, some folk will always associate him with it, and believe he is single handily responsible. That’s not gonna change On Sunday, in the row in front, an angry man’s vein in his neck was bulging every time Vestergaard got the ball. When he pinged that shot a mile over the bar I thought he was gonna have a heart attack. His hatrid of him was irrational. That’s the same issue some fans have with Faes. His hair, his own goals, the way he carries himself on the pitch, it’s like he’s the anti-christ for some reason Do I rate Faes, as a solid defender, not particularly. He's too error prone and is prone to switching off. The only bloke I’ve ever seen make himself smaller when trying to block a shot, but for a possession heavy team, especially at this level, I actually think he’s very good, not just because he’s comfortable on the ball, but he presses up the pitch and it’s no shock that his introduction for Okoli helped us pin Shef Wed in even deeper It’s heart and head stuff. For the long term success of this club we obviously need to look to the likes of Nelson and develop homegrown players, but we can’t overlook the short term gain of what promotion means to this club. All our centrebacks will need to play a part this season, and if Faes is still here in September then he’ll play a key role this season like him or not
  9. I remember Moussa scoring against Scunthorpe just before Sven took over, other than that he did absolutely nothing. Poor mans Dany N’Guessan
  10. I’d still applaud them off Always back the lads an all that
  11. No I genuinely don’t, he clearly needs the right people around him and while I can understand the initial reliance on people who’d been at the club with Vichai, he’s demonstratively showed blind trust in a structure and collective that doesn’t work and he hasn’t learnt from his mistakes. Like you said, on here at least, everyone is on the same page and the disillusionment and disconnection with the way the club is stronger than I’ve even known it. I do, probably naively, think he’ll sell though. With all the problems at King Power it might force his hand. Probably from one unethical billionaire to the next, and that’s also a gamble. But that’s one I’m willing to take, and I think we’d be a far more attractive proposition for an unethical billionaire as we are now, than if we were the next Stoke, West Brom or Norwich. Nothing in football is guaranteed, you can have the right intentions but be unequipped for the job. Top and Rudkin aren’t a Chansiri, Venky or Oyston, but equally I want them gone from my club, it’s not always better the devil you know and I’d happily gamble on a new benefactor. However for 90 minutes I enjoy winning games of football and it helps me forgot how much we’ve let the chance of a lifetime slip through our fingers.
  12. I don’t really care what click bait pundits have to say about our chances, but the fact most have Southampton in the top 2 after almost breaking Derby’s honking record is just plain weird. They’ve lost players and not really strengthened. They’ve got an untried manager in English football and Gavin Bazunu in goal. It’s clear the potential point deduction is making everyone adjust their predictions, and that’s fine, but 7th below Millwall is dare I say it, slightly insulting
  13. Genuinely don’t get this You can be frustrated with the way the club is ran and want success in spite of it. I’m as big a critic of Top, Rudkin and the powers that be at Leicester City as anyone But I don’t wish long term mediocrity just so I can say I told you so. Ask a Stoke fan and I don’t think they’ll agree a 5 years stretch in the championship is what any club needs. The gap becomes a chasm that you can’t bridge As bad as it is now, I guarantee we’d look back on the halcyon days of Ayew and Faes if we’re still stinking this league out in 5 years time
  14. This lad only just turned 21 a couple of months ago. It’s easy to forget how young he is. The end product will come. I don’t want to lose him at all, I’d rather build the team round him. If we need a big sale to stave off the PSR zealots then Mads is the one to shift out He’s got bags of technical ability and presses for fun, he’s a Pep player in waiting. I’m hopeful that the appointment of Marti and the type of football we’ll be looking to play has given Bilal food for thought, and the prospect of 12 more months here, being one of the best players in the division won’t do him any harm at all
  15. I’m not sure if Kone is the answer, other than the obligatory you tube clips I can’t say I’ve watched enough of him to really have a valid opinion, but he’s clearly got something, and is far from the finished article. In 11 months time we’ll be in the position of not having a senior striker at the club, as in all likelihood both Daka and Ayew will have left on a free It’s sensible the club is looking for a striker who has raw potential, one who has all the attributes of a player who could score goals at the top level. One thing this club used to be good at, and I stress “used to” is succession planning. If we see Kone as someone to gamble on I’m all for it, and it makes a million times more sense than short termism signings like Bamford etc Evans needs a pathway, absolutely, you don’t score that many goals at the age he is without having a bit of the X factor about him, but is he fully ready yet? I’m not so sure. The next 12 months is massively important for his development and being part of the first team squad, picking up minutes, we’ll hopefully see him developing into a number 9. I think we’ll start to see the emergence of Evans next season, as long as he sticks around long enough and signs that contract
  16. The only thing I’d say slightly in the three clubs favour this season is Brentford. Losing Frank, Mbeumo, Norgaard and potentially Wissa in one window, and appointing a rookie manager might mean they get dragged in to a relegation battle. But I fully expect the 3 promoted teams to come straight back down Seems like the only way to stay up is to catch an established team imploding and them also not acting quick enough to rectify it. A-la us under Rodgers.
  17. Add Ayew and Bobby Reid to that list too. I thought the Soumare, Daka, Bertrand, Vestergaard window was as bad as it’d ever get. How wrong I was
  18. That’s how I saw it too. Skipp put in a passable impression of a footballer yesterday, probably for the first time in a Leicester shirt. But baring a midfield overhaul, which let’s face it isn’t happening this summer, I’d much prefer Winks to be the metronome. That’s playing to Winks strengths, he’s not a number 8. Hasn’t got the engine to press up the pitch. Skipp deserves a clean slate, it’s not his fault we overspent on him, but he's just one of those midfielders that’s doesn’t excel in any one area. Not technically great, isn’t particularly strong, no creativity, has no eye for goal. The best thing you can label him is tenacious and even that’s a stretch
  19. He’s out of contract at the end of the season though, so a loan would be completely pointless. I’ve no issue with Soumare or Daka disappearing on loan never to be seen again, but Justin is versatile and unless we get a fee for him we might as well use him
  20. If losing Mads means we’re not then pressured to sell Bilal then I’ll happy accept it’s time for him to go. Jakub is more then ready to be our number 1 But the short memory of some posters amaze me. Granted he was not the same after he returned early from injury last season. But prior to him going off in the Newcastle away game he was performing heroics week in week out, and he was by far the best keeper in the championship the season before. He’s a very good shot stopper and is very good with the ball at his feet. Keepers with those attributes are few and far between
  21. Tried to keep my eye on Cardiff when Alves was there and I remember this fella looked pretty decent. Big unit but mobile, scores all types of goals and puts himself about. Didn’t realise he was only 23, and 8 in 20 after joining in the January window is a decent return for what was a terrible Cardiff team. Wouldn’t be against it all, right age, right profile
  22. Braybrooke especially needs a season of regular men’s football. I think the sad reality is he’s probably done here now, if he goes on loan and shines then he might still have a chance. Last season he needed a good loan, for whatever reason it didn’t work out and it’s put his development back another year. Such a shame as he looked a lovely footballer before his ACL injury. He’ll be 22 soon so it really is a make or break season for him and he has to play games Golding was a PSR fiddle, haven’t got a massive sample size of performances to critique him on, but from what I have seen he’s never stood out. He’s only just turned 19 though, I wouldn’t be opposed to keeping him around, training with the first time and then look to a loan in January
  23. Bobby wants a word
  24. Kit or player?
  25. Weak upfront and missing a certain profile when it comes to central midfield. In fact the ‘central midfield 5’ gives me the ick. Barely an attacking instinct between them
