  1. Often overlooked. Triple Triad is the greatest mini-game ever. It was the perfect game for 12 year old me. I got my mum to buy me a pair of school shoes that matched Squall's then ordered a Griever necklace. And Rinoa Heartilly. Sad ****.
  2. This thread really is a cacophony of some of the bleakest shit imaginable.
  3. I think the director of the studio has said his favourite game is FF8 which I have to agree with him on, but for sure this definitely takes a lot from all four of the the Final Fantasy classics: 7-10. I realised last night that I'd basically neglected the Luminas since the first couple of hours of the game and hadn't added to any of my characters, only the Pictos. It's a LOT easier when you do that. Agree though, they need to go back to basics - haven't been able to get on with any Final Fantasy since 10. Absolutely hated 12 and 13. 15 was boring. Never bothered with the online ones or 16 which basically looks like Devil May Cry lite. Bring back the RPG.
  4. Finally started Clair Obscur. Really enjoying it thus far but I am pretty terrible at it. Pretty sure signals take far too long to get from my brain to my fingers and parrying becomes controller-throwingly frustrating at times. Just got to the Stone Cliffs and the reaper enemies are total pricks. Couldn't defeat them at all without Maelle's shield-breaking ability. The game's superb though. Wears its influences on its sleeves for sure and owes a lot to Final Fantasy X especially - not that it's a bad thing. FF lost its way massively when it tried to go open-world. Would love Square to look at the success of Clair Obscur go back to the linearity that made FF7, 8, 9 and 10 so great.
  5. Myself along with several hundred others were told earlier this year that we were no longer needed as of January. Ever since then myself and my boss agreed that my team will be unofficially barely "working" three days a week to allow them to search for jobs and get themselves prepared. We're not busting our backsides for a company that has just made us redundant. I echo what others have said: when push comes to shove, your companies don't give a **** about you. Can highly recommend this new approach to working. My CV looks great and my hobbies are thriving.
  6. The MLS wanted to send their actual champions but FIFA ignored it. Lionel Messi is more of a draw and everyone knows what this is about. FIFA's unchecked greed knows no bounds. Expansionist nonsense. There's no momentum or excitement for this thing. Infantino is a ****.
  7. What ever happened to Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo? Would love him to return for an update to the emoticonamajigs and he hasn't been seen on here since 2023.
  8. Without getting into Pedant Thread territory, there is a bit of a difference between resign, and re-sign.
  9. After the absolutely honking abomination that was last season's away kit, I've pretty much given up hope that there's anyone left at the club with a semblance of taste or commercial nous.
  10. "Oh great, the retained list!" *reads who's actually on the retained list*
  11. They most likely conducted due diligence. Family FC just don't care. The club stinks.
  12. Life's largely too short for drama and nonsense and I'm lucky enough to have decent friends and family. I had one life long friend who extracted himself from our friendship group and stopped talking to us over his perception we'd screwed him out of some cash for a stag do despite him pulling out at the last minute and everything had already been paid for. He was a bit weird mind.
  13. I've got my first single coming out this week. I've been making music on and off for 15+ years, with the last five years dedicated to really learning as much as I can, and putting it into practice with this particular project. Not going to post anything here as I enjoy the anonymity, nor do I expect anyone to actually listen to it as I'm totally out of touch with the social media marketing grind, but it does feel nice to actually put something out into the ether for the first time. Anyone had any success themselves?
  14. I've read several times recently on Reddit about a "One-Pound Dan" in the city centre. Pretty sure I had an encounter with him around 2006 in Castle Park. Bloke asked for a quid as I was walking back from the gym, which I didn't have and he got properly arsey and basically chased around like something out of a Benny Hill sketch. Can't be sure it was him, mind. Can't say I've ever heard of him but everyone on the subreddit seems to have a story.
  15. That Elsee Effcee account that popped up last year. Pretty prolifically starting threads for a few months - a lot of which seemed to be AI or AI prompts - then vanished.
  16. Got a text whilst on a once-in-a-lifetime holiday about a workplace "announcement." I knew it was coming, but now I'm back I've got to deal with it. Potentially hundreds of jobs going where I work. I have my consultation letter. Will almost certainly take VR as I've been there 15 years, but it feels weird. In a way, kind of looking forward to a lump sum and a new challenge. On the other hand, the industry I work in has been absolutely decimated in the last few years and I know a lot of people struggling. It's pretty uncertain. Fully expecting for it to be incredibly tough trying to find a new job.
  17. The last two games were an anomaly. Make no mistake, we are still absolutely dog bob.
  18. Tenser than any sporting event I’ve seen this year TBF.
  19. Poor Richie. The grading job on that image has not done him any favours.
  20. Sorry if you struggle to read it, Tom.
  21. There's absolutely no way the club's media team are astute enough to consider this.
  22. Let's be honest, 500 is a really neat number. If I had the choice between making five hundred appearances, or FiVe hUnDrEd AnD oNe, I know which I'm going for.
  23. Signs for Cov. 93rd minute. Wembley. Vardy's through, one-on-one with Stolarczyk. Suddenly he feigns a shot, smiles and winks before turning around and begins running back towards his own goal. The rest of his team look on speechless. The crowd go silent. He hits it, a top bins 25 yarder into his own net. He runs over to the Cov fans, removes his shirt and drops his kecks revealing "LC" emblazoned on one arse cheek, "FC" on the other. He gestures to their support to kiss it. Suddenly a beam of light emerges from the heavens to take him. He's been chosen to ascend. The god of shithousery. More realistic scenario IMO.
  24. Exactly this. It also relies heavily on a great performance on the night given they're require to sing lead vocals live. Last year we sent an established pop star in the form of Olly Alexander yet his performance on the night was atrocious, and the song was dog. I've said for years that Spaceman is an all-time Eurovision HEATER, and Sam Ryder absolutely killed it. Right up there with the best ever performances at Eurovision. Send a great song and a brilliant performer and you'll do well. The fact our entry barely charts every year says it all. We need to reform the selection process to take it away from BBC suits, prepare the artists properly and compete in the semis.
  25. The club have killed this themselves. We have reverted back to the mean, and a 40k stadium isn't going to be needed for a yo-yo Championship club. Another casualty of the negligence of our board. Such a shame, as this was properly exciting. What could've been, eh?
