  1. The Green Day marketing machine has woken up (well, I guess September has ended LOL.) https://www.theamericandreamiskillingme.com/ Seems like a new single for an album they've been threatening for a couple of years is finally about to drop. Sounds more akin to their 00s output than more recent (dogshit) stuff.
  2. I get that this was 20 years ago, but I've been to Chiang Mai a couple of times and most elephant sanctuaries now seem to frown on this practice (publically, anyway) and there's an understanding that it's painful for the elephants. I'm sure there are unethical places for thick tourists and cvnts, but I think it's dying out with education thankfully. The moral of the story: don't fvck with wild animals 50 times your weight.
  3. I don't get it, but fair play to him. Seems to be absolutely killing it for a business that was only founded in a few years ago. Pretty niche stuff that just seems to have caught on via social media. Shame the guy's a Arsenal supporter.
  4. I bet the people who moan about not being able to see the walk out because of a fifo twice a season, are the same ones who leave 15 minutes early to avoid the traffic every game. A bit like with the Trust, the fans consultative committee just seems like a bunch of old boys more concerned with the status of being part of the committee. This is why the club never get challenged on anything for fear of upsetting the prawn sandwich cart. It's a nice night out where everyone can give each other a big slap on the back and continue to enjoy the crustacean cobs on match day.
  5. Yeah there's loads wrong with it - like, some really baffling design decisions - but I still haven't played anything else since launch. Once I've completed the main story I think I'll put this down and come back to it in a couple of years when they've hopefully patched some of the more egregious issues and mod support has allowed modders to elevate this to a solid 9/10.
  6. Lucy definitely has an extension of her real personality that she uses as her "comedy persona" that she's really leaning into. Julian is a legend, but doesn't seem to know who anyone is or what's going on half of the time. Enjoying the lineup much more than I thought I would.
  7. I went straight to Kermode for this review. Bloke's like the world's foremost expert on the original, has written umpteen books and essays about it, and considers it an absolute masterpiece. There was a slim chance he was going to like this TBH. Still, looks awful. Barbie and Oppenheimer showed that there's a massive appetite for original ideas... Why is the film industry still churning out dogshit reboots and copy/paste comic book trash?
  8. Exactly this. He epitomised the relegation squad. I couldn't tell whether it was him just wanting to be anywhere other than City, or whether he'd just spent far too much time at the Seagrave buffet in Rodgers' already fitness-bereft side. I'm pretty sure it's well documented that he thought he could walk back into a Champions League side and it's why he wanted away. Emery is a top, top manager who won't suffer fools. I wonder whether Tielemans has a little residual attitude problem, or he's still not fit. Cheers for the FA Cup, but no thanks.
  9. Alright, who got the last one locked?
  10. People liked Johnson because he spent years carefully crafting a public persona as a charismatic, affable, well-meaning but chaotic everyman. "Oh look, he's got funny hair! And he stumbles over his sentences like anybody else!" His personality and character was ultimately his downfall and his tenure was an unprecedented disaster. Personality politics is a scourge. Boring and effective is what we need.
  11. He shit himself. Understandably so. Where's the security at these events FFS? Doesn't matter what side of the fence you sit, no politician should be dealing with people running up to them on stage. What if he was dangerous?
  12. Someone just glittered Starmer.
  13. I went out on Saturday into Hoxton for a birthday. Got a bit carried away and bought two Amstels, two tequila Rosè and four normal tequilas and it was £100. Absurd.
  14. Yeah, I didn't mean finished forever like. Just finished for now. Which I know isn't technically finished but whatever. I'll be over here if you need me.
  15. Enormous swing to Labour in Rutherglen and Hamilton West by-election. The SNP look finished. Could be indicative of a huge shift back to Labour north of the border. I want the annihilation of the Tories in the election intravenously.
  16. Is it me or do the club recycle the same articles over and over?
  17. The worst thing about the game is the procedural generation / POI system. 150-odd hours in and I pretty much avoid all POIs now because I just think I'm going to end up running into the same Science Outpost with the same dead bodies and the same items lying about in exactly the same places. It's fvcking daft and utterly immersion-breaking. Completely takes away any desire to go and explore any locations anymore which is a huge shame. I only ever really go to uniquely-named places now. Even planets with the "three dots" and a pre-determined landing zone seem to just have POIs that are just copy/pasted. How BGS thought this was a good idea I don't know.
  18. This aged well.
  19. Absolute grifters perfect for the Tory party conference. Imagine how fvcking desperate you've got to be to say yes to that. Or thick. Any even remotely credible band wouldn't want the flak associated with it.
  20. Sunak still peddling the Brexit success nonsense even though he blatantly doesn't believe it for a second. Nobody in that room does either. Bizarre. They've gone full Trumpism this week. They know it's the last throw of the dice as they're finished. Divisive and conspiratorial nonsense that deliberately mimics the worst aspects of the US radical right. I've been no great proponent of the HS2 project ever since it went to shit years ago, but for the Tories to hold their Conference in an old rail station in Manchester to announce its cancellation is different level cvntishness. "Network north"
  21. Resign ≠ re-sign.
