Bristol City 1 - 0 LCFC Post Match Thread
whetstonefox replied to KingsX's topic in Leicester City Forum
I had Fulham vibes after seeing them get off the coach, just looked not quite right. That continued when things went against us and most certainly after they scored -
If we do somehow get promoted it’ll be one of the most joyless promotions ever known if you read all the comments. At the end yesterday the fans singing ‘what the fcuking hell was that’ is not normal for a team in 2nd place with 8 games left. Just seems to be a continuation of what has gone on the last few years.

Ipswich living up to ‘the harder you work the luckier you get’ tag.

Why is this all going t### up ?
whetstonefox replied to marcymarc666's topic in Leicester City Forum
body language of the players even getting off the coach today was poor, no one was talking to each other on the pitch. I’d bring Coady in as he can’t be worse than the current back 2 as of now plus he can show his leadership skills that everyone goes on about. -
That it’s still in our own hands is remarkable but lose on Monday I think the atmosphere will be mildly annoyed.

Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'
whetstonefox replied to ClaphamFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Out of interest where do the loans from Macquarie fit in? I am not sure how much we owe on them and how they are linked if we don’t go up so not a clue if they will make life difficult. Quite scary not knowing how much trouble we may or may not be in. -

If we are going head on with EPL and EFL it’s going to be watched by everyone in football. I just hope we can back up our points and win most of the arguments (I can’t see how we have not breached the rules on losses allowed but wait and see I guess) otherwise we might find they want to hand us a 12 point penalty. -

As bad as it might get over the next couple of years , especially if we don’t go up and start next season on minus 6 points and and a transfer embargo, perhaps the fan base might finally wake up and reignite the passion that has been missing. I think the football world would be quite happy to see us struggling to stay in the championship next season let alone the premier league -
The most unoriginal chant you hear nowadays is the football in a library chant, sung by almost every away fan at pretty much every ground(and they all think they are being original!) Says a lot about the state of football in Englands top 2 leagues in terms of atmosphere.

What Happens if we don’t get promoted
whetstonefox replied to funkyrobot's topic in Leicester City Forum
If the worst did happen. and without knowing the true financial position of the club the only glimmer of hope would be the 3 teams who will probably be relegated from the premier league (current bottom 3 i’d imagine) are not likely to be red hot favourites to fill the top 3 positions in next years championship. Could be completely wide open in all honesty -
This could end up being the most underwhelming promotion we have ever had. That is nothing to do with Enzo. We have so many fans who feel we should not be in this league they forget the team needs support. Part of me is dreading the day we win promotion as the atmosphere will no doubt be flat or half hearted apart from the usuals. I could see him gaining promotion and walking. This season is only about one thing, promotion. We have seen enough former premier league teams roll up this year who also no doubt thought they should be in the premier league and are now treading water. I think we trust the process , see how Enzo ball works against better teams who will pose more of a threat and in theory give us more space to pass pass pass. My main concern is the club ownership and hope they have learned the lessons of last year.

Sorry , i forgot sarcasm doesn’t translate well on here but

To be honest now the roadworks appear to have been completed on Aylestone Rd the traffic was fine ,even leaving on final whistle, back in Whetstone by 1030 tonight. As for the atmosphere, not sure what can be done , it’s just the way we are now as a fanbase. There’s no real edge about our atmospheres, hasn’t been since the end of the covid restrictions. Think Brendon killed us!

Beat Ipswich and we can forget this
-
Never a red but a bit brainless , should not be going in recklessly with what had just happened and a ref feeling the pressure
-
Will always remember him for his little cameo when geeing the fans up when walking off at halftime at Fulham. Probably is a decent player in there somewhere but probably not for us and you get the feeling he’s keen never to return
-
Are Fulham ever going to fully open that new stand? Or are the prices so high they can’t sell the tickets😀
-
I’m surprised Vardy has not been more seen as a pundit etc, imagine it wouldn’t be boring but you just never know.
-
Forest look terrible. I did not realise how poor they are, really hope either Burnley or Luton (Sheff Utd will go down) can string some results together to go above them
-
Be interesting how he and the club approach the January transfer window. He’s had 6 months to properly assess the squad I wonder what he wants to improve upon? A creative player I’d guess.
-
Main goal is promotion, achieve that you then aim for the title. The way it’s going we are well on course to get both. If you’d offered 2nd in July you’d have taken it.

I just find it sad that so many people leave early, you are always going to have a small percentage leave early but seems to be a growing trend. I just hope when it is a tight game and the players need our support to see them through that it will be different( i was trying to think what it was like for the Sunderland game when we really were holding on) Yesterday just assume it was down to the fact the game was over after 60
