There are but I’d say that winks is probably the best at the tempo and passing side of it. If we were going to have 65%+ possession then we’d do well to keep him. If we are going to be more aggressive with our forward play and therefore have less control than enzo’s team then we’d be better having someone more defensively capable.

It’s a relevant point re holding midfielders. winks is not your average cdm because he’s not good enough at defence. But in a team that should have v high possession stats and requires someone to take the ball from defenders/keeper and set the tempo, he should be perfect. (As per enzo’s team) atm we are asking bouba to do the defensive work and he’s really not switched on enough to be reliable. it’s a conundrum that marti has to solve. Skipp is a little more mobile and certainly quicker than winks but he’s definitely lost his mojo.

Problem with selling kasey is that some other academy graduate will have to take the brunt of the moaning late in games. the group which should be shouted at have exhausted their collective insults over the past few seasons.

They’re floating ideas re council tax and stamp duty. the stamp duty idea is that rather than paying a lump sum on purchase, you’d pay a tax each year you’re in the house. Perhaps a single home occupation tax to replace both taxes ?? I doubt they’d be able to make the replacement tax much annually higher than already being paid but effectively spreading the stamp duty out over a 10/15 year period would likely bring in higher revenues over time than the current system because selling sooner wouldn’t make any difference (you’d buy a new place and then pay on that ) and if you stay longer than the 10/15 years then you’re paying more than you would have done with a lump sum. I guess they could have a system where you can choose to pay the stamp duty element up front.

We have to submit our management accounts to the league early next year. If they show a problem then we can’t point to potential June sales to put things right. Not allowed in this regard. So if we really do need to sell in this accounting period, we’d undoubtedly come under league sanctions before seasons end.

The way the modern game is played is all about getting your players 1 v 1 in advanced positions. We should be making hay with fats and Monga in the regard because opposition can’t double up on both sides and keep a solid defensive structure in the middle of the pitch (assuming we are inverting one of the full backs to force overloads in the middle). playing Monga as a ten will expose him to much less opportunity to get 1 v 1. The central areas of the pitch are much easier to double up. Whilst he’s strong for his age, he may well struggle to cope with the physicality in that area aswell. The wide areas are usually less physical. I’m not dismissing it because we’ve seen how his quick feet and short turning circle enables him to get away from defenders. But at his age I think he’s better placed out wide.

Nor me but the answer is no as clubs wouldn’t be happy with their players doing it. when it’s happened before there’s always been smoke with the fire - but as also said, doesn’t mean it follows through.

Word from Jeruslem is that the Isr cabinet will reject the deal they had approved some weeks ago. Politics has moved on since then. Hams rejection of the deal last month emboldened the nutters on the right. maybe this is what trump was on about with his tweet earlier today where he said a deal with hams isn’t possible and they need to be destroyed. He’s trying to get ahead of the media curve.
