If marti wants deadwood players to move on so he can invest some of the income then he’s better served picking them. Players who are left out invariably see their value drop. Of course once we get to the back end of the window that changes.

Context takes precedent over all of that. we don’t want to keep an unhappy player and we could do with the money. However, as the fee drops below 25m the psr input becomes limited and we would be better served in trying to keep him. If the agent is intent on moving the player and the player is ok to stay then I’d say once the RC expires it’s more likely he stays. (If we give a guaranteed commitment that he can leave next summer if we don’t go up). I just don’t see a club paying north of 25m for him.
