I was there on Saturday as its my bird monitoring patch. I was in waders and needed to be frequently. We had another 20mm of rain Saturday night into Sunday so I can only imagine it was even worse Sunday. Not an ideal place to be taking young children at this time of year but I think many are blind to the dangers.

Rarely a 4, rarely a 7+.

Tactically poor today, he's bought Akgun on so we can no longer pretend his absence is down to finances. There is simply no way on earth Praet should be starting games, let alone playing almost a full match. We currently have nothing in the middle creative wise which is fine if our wing play holds up, but today it wasn't working because we lacked a CF capable of scoring with his bonce. Cannon could have helped there but to take of both Mavididi and Fatawu and slap Cannon out on the left was frankly ridiculous. Reminds me of when we used to take Ulloa off just as we were bring Albrighton on, leaving Albrighton basically whipping balls in to midgets. Praet should not be starting games. If the wings aren't working then we need central creativity so that we can switch to playing through the lines with better movement and follow-ins on the 18 yard box. You can't try and play both systems with limited players trying to fulfills roles or play roles our of their normal position. Either leave the wingers on and bring Cannon on for an actual aerial outlet, or take the wingers off along with Praet and bring Akgun on to play mote centrally. It was a right mess today, players out of position, making reactionary subs like Kasey at RW then two minutes later Albrighton at RW...just lost his head a bit for me and I think Carrick sussed him tactically today.

Don't want them doing the Double over us, will never hear the end of it. They'll be giving it 'best team in the division' for eternity after that.

Tactically the subs were naff. Enzo should have chosen one route or another, instead it was just a mess. He could have stuck with our wing play, kept Mavidid and Fatawu on (who even when not at their best are still our biggest attacking threat) and bought Cannon on as CF (as the only player capable of scoring with his head) Or Noticing putting everything down the wings was proving fruitless, taken off Praet or KDH for Akgun centrally (both Praet and KDH were woeful today) and tried to play through the lines instead. Instead we ended up with Praet on the pitch for far too long, Cannon out of position as a winger, both Fatawu and Mavidid off and Kasey 'creates nothing' Mac playing on the wing (for a bit) before deciding perhaps we should have stuck with proper wingers and bought Albrighton on. Absolute mess and pretty poor - displayed a bit of desperation that we don't usually see in Enzo. Think he was just pretty stuck for ideas today and Carrick got the better of him, Tactically.

No. **** Dennis Praet and get Akgun in there. Kasey creates nothing. We need creative play through the middle and through the channels, we are trying to rely on everything going through the Wingers and it isn't working - might work if Cannons playing but nobody else heads the ball. If we don't start playing through the middle in the second half then we will lose.

Game is crying out for him. Should have been a solid starter weeks ago but clearly Top is skint.

I'd deffo get Akgun on. Desperate need his movement and terrier like effort. So much better than Praet its unreal.

If you go back through the entirety of this season I have probably been one of the most positive posters on the forum when it comes to our games, performances, tactics and management's. I've constantly battled the naysayers and non-converts to Enzo ball. I think its good sometimes to be critical, especially at points like this when it seems everything is easy. I don't see the point in being complacent. Our games tend to go the same way at this point, so I think talking about personel is a reasonable topic at this juncture of the season - there isn't much else going on. Again, I'm not sure why people can't handle criticism of our players? It's odd. I guarantee if we are getting pasted in the Premier League next season and Kasey is getting games then there will be plenty calling for his head. I'm not doing that, I'm just pointing out he's not good enough. Also, he is starting games periodically, even with our first choices fit...he started on Saturday and wasn't very good. Its a valid topic.

Didn't he make his first team debut in 21/22? Didn't push on, has been given a big opportunity this season and after a good start has now started to look lost? If players aren't kicking on at 22 in the Championship then it's u likely they are going to be kicking on in the Premier League the season after. Criticism is valid no matter what stage of a career a player is at, without criticism you can't improve. All I'm saying is, it's highly unlikely he will feature at all next season so I'd rather focus on the players that will. If he was 18/19 I'd be more inclined to be patient but he's been given a big chance this year to step up and it hasn't happened. He's probably a lovely lad, just not good enough at this level.

None taken. Honestly though, I've been highlighting Kaseys lack of quality for a while now. I was relieved to see him not starting tonight after the Watford games because its a name when I see on the team sheet that either makes me nervous or just feel like it's going to drag the game down a bit. I feel similar when Hamza is in the starting line up. Talking about tonight because A. He was truly dreadful and B. When you're winning games and there isn't much else going on it helps to drill down into the details and start looking towards how we play and with what personal in the premier league. People genuinely really need to stop seeing criticism of players (especially based on a period of time in the team and making appearances) as some sort of insult rather than just an honest conversation which fans should be allowed to have. All this 'he's an academy lad' stuff is nonsense, you are either good enough or not and this tendency to feel the need to defend 'academy lads' at all costs for no reason other than they came though the academy is a bit boring. There's plenty of shit languishing in the academy, being there isn't a free pass I'm afraid.

Then he wasn't playing either Enzos game or his own tonight then, because Enzo was pretty enraged that Kasey consistently ignored his instructions and if what he did end up playing was his own game then well, that wasn't good enough either. Honestly, it's fine not to rate a player, I'm not sure why it gets people's backs up so much.

Think if you read the thread you find most of us are discussing his performances over the season. Nothing wrong with deciding a player isn't good enough, being an academy lad doesn't come into it.

Good summary.

Been involved in 20 matches this season. Don't thinks it's unreasonable to start assessing a 22 year old player after that many appearances in just over half a season. Not sure why being an academy lad should negate criticism or honesty. Weird rule you've made there.
