  1. Plus... you do realise that Cifuentes has a reputation for going up against his board at more than one club he's been at? He's not a "yes man" but Dyche who is actual freinds with Rudkin will be better?
  2. Harshly treated in what sense? The guy stood in front of TV cameras and said "i don't know what to do, I've tried everything." You speak about someone coming in and putting people in their place yet suggest O'Neil who admitted he lost the dressing room and had players scrapping each other on the pitch...
  3. So... higher floor, lower ceiling? Or in O'Neil's case, lower floor, lower ceiling.
  4. Right, spill the beans. Did this guy rattle your Mrs or something? There is an origin story here somewhere...
  5. If we end up looking for a backup AM/winger and money is tight, I could very well see us going for Lucas Andersen. Played for MC at Aalborg (it might even have been him that signed him) and then he signed him for QPR. Now a free agent.
  6. Rangers collecting CB's like Pokemon. If Coady signs, he'll be their 8th! I imagine one or two will go but if there was any doubt that Martin plans to play 3 at the back...
  7. I agree with this but I think the main reason that Marti's style maybe be more suited to the PL than Enzo's other than the latters insistence of a slow build up is pressing. Enzo didn't push the press too much, MC does and we've seen teams like Bournmouth last season have success with that.
  8. To be fair, this video is about his tactics as a whole. If i remember the RVN correctly, it was about a specific match.
  9. 11am tomorrow.
  10. I'm starting to think he might go to Rangers for a year.
  11. Nothing new there. They could never be trusted.
  12. I think it will be a 6pm announcement. I feel it in my loins.
  13. Marti Mattress!
  14. But you are missing this from SOUMARE'S perspective. Why would he agree to a permanent transfer for lower wages NOW when he can have us pay him his full wage for a year and command more in wages/SO fee next season? A loan is the only real compromise.... We get some sort of (loan) fee for him as opposed to losing him for nothing. We also get at least some of his wages off the books. The loan club get to pay less wages now and potentially buy him for free next year after a test run. He gets a big sign on fee next year, big wages this year and first team football this season.
  15. I agree with most of this but I'm sure Bade Aluko is a RB and I'm not 100% sold on Thomas at LB either. He's worth a shot but a purple patch or two in amongst a LOT of poor performances is a gamble making him our starter. We are definitely set at RB. Woyo, Justin, Ricardo, Aluko and even Jayden Joseph and although a few of them can cover for LB, I'm not convinced we don't need a starter in that position. If Thomas ends up being crap, we are relying on a bunch or RB's to step up. I would also like to see Ricardo played more as a CM because that group has a worryingly low amount of creativity and like I said, we are strong at RB already.
  16. Oh, I 100% believe he'll go out on loan. Like I said, it's a chance to test drive him before committing.
  17. Yes but unfortunately there is only one John Rudkin and WE have him.
  18. I honestly think you are overestimating how badly clubs will want a player who has been dreadful here and will demand MASSIVE wages when they can essentially ters drive him for a year in loan first.
  19. You think we will get £6m for Soumare who is out of contract next summer? At best, we will get him out on loan until then.
  20. That isn't really feasible though.
  21. You are definately mistaken. We done it with Ayoze Perez and Man Utd done it with Alexis Sanchez.
  22. Why wouldn't we be able to loan him out?
  23. 100% but thats a completely different discussion and would apply to ANYONE that we gave the job to.
  24. He wasn't so much "sacked" as they replaced him as manager for non-footballing reasons but were so scared that he would go to a competitor, continued to pay him for doing nothing.
  25. The way it ended at QPR is a bit iffy but, IF it is to be believed that QPR have sold him a vision and not kept their end, I can see why he wanted out. That and the way QPR handled it afterwards where they effectively benched him to prevent him getting another job whilst hiring someone else points to them being difficult. Although, if you look at his history, he DOES have previous for jumping ship when the better oppertunity comes calling. He's done it at every club. That's why his average stay at each club so far in his career is about 1.5 year. He does the job he's expected to do then moves on. The only real other reservation i have is the form of his teams. Every team he has been at are streaky to the maximum. They will win 5/6 in a row then not win for the next 5/6 before going on another little run. It's definitely a pattern to keep in mind. Other than that, I'm fairly happy. He's one of the only managers we've been linked with who's career has been on an upward trajectory since it started. Fans seem to like him due to his style of football which I think our squad is suited to and he should have the inside scoop of the Scandinavian market where there is some value for money. He also has experience working under difficult circumstances which is a skill he will need here. For me, it's an interesting appointment but will all depend on how much room and support Top and Rudkin give him to work.
