  1. Its a good day! Forest losing too. Hope we look back at the end of the season and say - this is when things got better.
  2. There are so many issues. Our inability to do anything with the ball, our useless defence, our inept manager and clueless decisions and lineup selections, playing our best players out of position to accommodate useless ones, giving others far too many chances producing the same awful displays. Yes we've had injury issues but it's no excuse. The list goes on and so far I've not even mentioned the bigger issues off the pitch...
  3. You were wrong. It's a 3 goal deficit.
  4. So it's your fault then? Now tell him we'll suddenly come good and score six before half time then go on an unbeaten run until the end of the season!
  5. I really did. What the hell... ?
  6. They'll be on before the end...
  7. My stream has had enough of us playing like this too. Stoke scored and it immediately stopped working.
  8. Marti has had enough and wants a payoff!
  9. Its getting reminiscent of a time when we were stuck in the second tier during the end of the 80s. Pleat out banners are some of my first memories of going to Filbert Street and my dad (a Leeds fan) telling me the team just isnt good enough). We're in a dire situation. But it feels like every season we cant get worse, since Rodgers last season (and one promotion season aside) I think we are getting worse, no matter who is in charge. Not a fan of Marti right now, was optimistic when he came, but we seem to employ managers who know what to say when they join, then immediately abandon that plan.
  10. I could very easily be proven wrong, but even with our defence (even with Faes playing) we're not bad enough to ship goals. Not in this league anyway. We just lack any sort of goal threat too. Its why we keep drawing games (mostly). We're just boring and average and devoid of ideas. While our squad is dire (compared to what we've been used to the last 10 years) its been getting worse for a quite while, but should still have enough to be doing better than we seem to be.
  11. At one point he looked to have so much potential ...
  12. Didn't we manage top of the league for at least a match? Kind of run that earns you the temporary England manager position... what a guy!😎
  13. Not the worst first 11 he could have picked, but then again it didn't seem like it was last Saturday. At least we started that game positively, (unlike Tuesdays game which is best forgotten) but we have to maintain it second half. Marti if we're winning at half time and you cant think how to motivate the lads into a decent second half performance please let someone else do the half time team talk ....
  14. We can't win when we play 11 players. And you want us to just field 6? Are you mad?
  15. I was gutted we missed out on Slimani when linked during our great escape season. Was really happy when we did sign him...
  16. Oh Mahrez was just someone trying to keep the infinitely better Knockaert out of the team 🙄.
  17. He really wasn't. I remember some of the anger at this non league footballer who'd cost us a fortune for that kind of gamble, and he don't do anything right. It's why I always cringe at the instant criticism of new players on here who've not yet found their feet...
  18. Yes of course we go up if we can. We aim to win every match. And that's not just important as a mentality the players should have, and for the fans who should always want the team to do as well as it can, its important for our financial future, (even with the muppets in charge of the purse strings) and important for us leaving this division again. The longer we go without promotion the harder it'll be to go up at all. Being in the Premier League lets us attract better players. So we should be in a better position to bounce back even if we go down again. (Last season was an exception because we had PSR issues looming over our spending and we still spent a lot, just very badly (Skipp anyone?) No one is more used to being a yo yo club than us. But its better to be that club that's too good for the Championship but not quite there in the Premier League than be the club that's just bang average in the Championship. We wouldn't have seen the recent success, our Premier League title, the FA Cup, stretches in Europe etc if we'd just been a mid Championship team all these seasons. And we wouldn't have attracted the King Power in the first place, which, in spite of recent times, has still proven to be instrumental in what we've achieved.
  19. Get the reasons for the hate but we have to be playing the players who give us the best performances on the pitch. If him playing kept players we want to keep out the side then perhaps they'd be more justification for sidelining him, but he's going to make the squad regardless so it's not like we're removing the disruptive figure just by not having him in the first 11. Promotion needs to be the goal and if we achieve it, we shouldn't have any of Skipp, Soumare or Winks in the side but right now out of those 3 for that CM position, he's the lesser of all evils, and offers us the most creatively in the centre of the pitch.
  20. Perhaps its simply because I went to Villa park with my brother and a load of Villa mates back in 2007 in the cup game but I seem to remember it was one way traffic and the late great Marton Fulop playing a blinder, (not the only time we've been second best at Villa park and rather satisfyingly won against the run of play). Fryatt got a runaway goal, may have been our only proper chance all game. Might not be the greatest goalkeeping performance, but given the company I was with, one of the most satisfying.
  21. I think we can apply for an extension to complete paperwork etc. (And for longer than 14 seconds)
  22. Being able to score is an overrated attribute. Who cares if your forward players can score a goal?
  23. I think the signs are positive for sure. And as supporters we've got to realise there are going to be periods this season where things don't look right, where Marti looks to be making mistakes, but we have to back him and the team. We talk about Pearson through blue tinted specs. We see the huge benefits of the work he put in, the foundations of our most successful period of history ever, and rightly so he's praised for it. But at the time there were a lot of periods people ran out of patience with Nige while he was in charge. As someone close to the management back then (I've often said about how I was given Craig's tickets to watch games for free), I saw the abuse poor Pearson was getting when we struggled in the championship we thought we'd gain promotion from but couldn't buy a win for weeks (season before we smashed it) and the great escape season where he refused to play Albrighton for many games even though we all suspected this was a mistake. Nige put us in such a good position. His sports science, the way he turned around a team that seemed rotten at its core and gave us a team that was able to fight tooth and nail, (and beat United 5-3 :)) and look like something special by the end of his tenure is something we should all be proud of. But we've got to afford Marti a few mistakes along the way if we're to reap similar benefits in the long term, because there are a lot of similarities between now and back then.
