  1. I asked the very same thing earlier this week My very first attempt at doing the 'Pools' was in 1980. I studied the form tables and made my score draw predictions I got 8 correct. This is easy, I thought, and waited for my cheque to arrive. It was a postal order - for 65p! Turns out there were loads of draws that week which, of course, meant no million pound payout. Myself, along with my Dad and brother, did have one biggish win approx 5 years later. That was just over £800 betweens us. My share paid for my driving lessons.
  2. Thanks to the free Apple TV weekend a week or two ago, I watched Slow Horses and thought it was good. Is the standard kept up for series 2, 3 & 4?
  3. That's what I tried but it told me I needed to link my BBC account to Alexa, to enable this. Curiously, I was able to link, and access, BBC news via Alexa, but couldn't link to BBC sounds - even though I had confirmation it was set up. I'm not alone with Alexa woes. I was out with some mates tonight and one said he and his wife gave up trying to get their Alexa to turn on a light in, despite following the instructions, buying a 'smart' switch and so on. Needs binning I reckon.
  4. Linking my BBC account to Alexa so I can play BBC radio ect. If she and/or the BBC website tells me its quick and easy and I'll only need to do it once, one more time, I may well lose my presence of mind. I've linked it yet again. I have confirmation YET AGAIN! Still, it refuses to play anything until I link my account. I know, I have an old transistor radio in a cupboard somewhere, I'll use that. Feck new technology, retrograde step for me and peace of mind.
  5. We're all tearing our hair out over what's happening, clearly Top isn't.
  6. Possible, yes. Probable, no.
  7. Listening to Radio Leicester (I know, I know) after the match, when they said we'll take some calls shortly. It took them over 20 odd mins to put the first caller on. They ought to put on a highly publicised 2 hour phone in, where they actually take calls prompto, not after the presenter and guest waffle for far too long. That said, they would probably select calls from fans who are either still quite content or only moderately upset.
  8. 'round our way, we used to say 'safto' Short for This afternoon.
  9. Did I imagine it, or was this topic pinned earlier?
  10. I do wonder if our FA Cup win is indirectly (directly?) responsible for current woes? If Rodgers hadn't delivered that win, the board might, just might, have finally got rid a little sooner. Even a month or two earlier might have seen us stay up. Surely things would have panned out differently in that case? Hypothetical I know and, frankly, the cup win was something older fans especially, have always dreamed of. But would I now swap it for being a comfortable Premier league side still........probably.
  11. Rudkin and Top are probably really pi$$Ed off with the fans giving them abuse and wanting them gone, especially as the inquest into the helicopter crash is happening these last few days. Rudkin was reported to have been in tears recalling his last conversation with the chairman just minutes before it happened. It is unfortunate timing but the here and now, surely demands that prompt action is taken to address the shocking ineptitude at the club.
  12. But RvN doesn't have his own back room staff in yet, he has coaches here who surely know Ward is a poor 'keeper
  13. Not too clear. I would say a pen would have been given in only 80% of cases.
  14. I hear a couple in their 80s were thrown out at half time for shouting Rudkin out.
  15. Good grief! This goes to show that Yes, Minister wasn't a comedy, it was a bloody documentary. We have a Sir Humphrey Appleby right there.
  16. No doubt he'll pick up a knock in training that delays things still further.
  17. How about a good old fashioned, 'Whhhaaaatttt a loooooad of rubbish?'
  18. Re the stewarding. Some years ago, when Aston Villa hammered us at home, a guy near me casually got up stepped over the barriers and advertising boards and wandered up to our goalie (Andrews?) No attempts were made by the stewards to stop/chase him. There was a steward near by and I asked why so. He said they were told specifically not to chase pitch invaders because of the 'spectacle' it can create. They were told just to wait for them to come off, then deal with it. I assume this is no longer the case after seeing this guy give them the run around?
  19. Either way there could be a pasting.
  20. After reading this and the piece describing a rocket blowing up as it soared into space as, 'a rapid unscheduled disassembly during its ascent burn', I wondered how the current failings across the board (no pun intended) at LCFC could be discribed in equally vague and embellished terms. Perhaps a variation on the above for example. A rapid unscheduled disassembly of the defence during an oppositions attack. Over to you......
  21. Well, if RvN uses his contacts at Old Trafford for some loans, it won't help us in the cup.
  22. Some hold up at Turnstile No 1 10/15 mins before kick off. In the end, some fella carrying a very upset youngster wasn't allowed in. If you're reading this mate, I hope you managed to get in and your young fella is OK.
  23. Magic of the cup still more prevalent outside the Prem.
  24. Talk about jumping to all sorts of bloody assumptions and conclusions. You have absolutely no idea or any insights whatsoever into what colour marker pen they used. It could have been green, orange, whatever. Sums this forum up, reactionary nonsense.
