If memory serves he once scored in four successive games, and when Banksy scored they were generally bangers!
-
Well if you’re going to split hairs…

There used to be a song for Chuba Akpom you might call to mind?

Of course. No straying off the straight and narrow on FT! It’s my age I guess? Note to self - look at the thread you’re posting in before hitting send! The clue was in your ‘makes less effort than any of them’ comment. Fair enough. Again, I’d respectfully disagree. Bloke was brodgered from the get go, brought in to be Yaya Toure when he’s actually more of an Ian Banks. I don’t think we overpaid with this one. But you and others are free to disagree
-
I know it’s just one game but did you see his four goals at Spartan Moscow? I’m guessing you did. Have you seen any other Leicester player score four in a game? You haven’t. I fully get why some fans- including you - don’t like or don’t rate Daka, but why the hyperbole? He was the second highest rated striker of his generation when we signed him. He’s not so bad you know? Disappointing maybe, but not so bad. Better than some recent horrors like Musa & Slimani for sure. Feel free to disagree.

Fair play. In that case we’ll have to agree to disagree agreeably.
-
I can only surmise that you didn’t see most of them.
-
Yes thank you. Though I’m not your ‘’mate’!

Is there any possibility of an under-13s section of this forum so those of us who’d like some insight into a player’s attributes or the chances of him joining us can skip all the freaking puns? Asking for a grumpy old fan.

Football has indeed gone completely silly. As for the world, well you have a point there too… Time we all grew up & found something else to obsess about.

🤔 George Armstrong Roger Davies Dennis Wise Junior Lewis Ade Akinbiyi Jack Curtis Martin Keown Dion Dublin Rachid Ghezzal Islam Slimani Adrien Silva …without trying!
-
You mean apart from the other winger? The other no.8, the versatile forward and the CB? if so I agree!

The talk in the north west is that they'd like to 'do a Hamza' with THB - i.e. extend his contract by another year and loan him out this season.
-
One year loan to Everton (any PL team) would get my vote. He either improves or he doesn’t. If he does, we welcome him back as Vardy’s anointed successor. If he doesn’t we get what we can for him. It’d be ridiculous to have a third choice striker of his profile at championship level.

As ever a comprehensive note by @StriderHiryu 👏🏼. A few additional thoughts: - Huddersfield presented a very different challenge to Coventry (& Burton), allowing our back 3 time and space and denying it to our midfield and front 3 with man-to-man marking. Their approach was largely successful with us creating few clear chances - as well as the man-to-man tactics, Town were clearly under instructions to be physical, every challenge taking part of the man as well as the ball. Ndidi & Choudhury coming on as subs evened up the physical battle - Praet’s game-changing cameo v Cov was, as I’m sure we all expected, shown to be the exception, not the rule as Dennis delivered another of his anonymous performances as well as wasting our best chance. If he wanted to stay (big if!) he’d have to be 3rd or 4th choice number 8 - Stolarczyk is good enough to be Hermansen’s understudy already - we don’t yet have a championship level right winger. Madivadua did enough to suggest he might stick around the squad rather than be sent out on loan - once again Mavididi came alive as defenders tired having done little in the first hour. But he worked hard throughout - for me the biggest plus was seeing Iheanacho start. He didn’t have a great game but Maresca’s ‘idea’ suits a deep-lying 9 more than a Vardy/Daka type. I also like the change up in bringing Vards on as the game opens up. Oh, and we are desperate for a cutting edge! Creativity in 8 positions & quality out wide needed by the end of the window! Onwards & upwards!

Fair point. Tho Rak-Sakyi has been mentioned in the Telegraph and Athletic, so I think we can safely assume he is/was one of our targeted wingers
-
Not quite. Our Chair in 2016 was different gravy. We won the FA Cup when our death spiral had already begun.
-
If we're going to miss out on Osorio and Rak-Sakyi, time to move on to our third choice right winger. Who's fourth?
-
Yet we have the same Chair, CEO, DoF...
-
Good move - for us. Means he’s likely to be available next summer too.
-
And what a game of two halves that was! IIRC, McGhee’s team purred that day, going 0-3 up. Then Spider, who’d been decent in a largely unemployed first half got the jitters, gave them to the whole defence and we just about hung on to win 2-3!

I’ve often - well, once or twice - wondered if the Velvet Underground were influenced by Harold’s ‘white heat of technology’ speech - which will be 60 years old next month?

The Head of Steam at the railway station is an excellent pub. And when you’ve had your fill, you can stroll across the square for a look at Harold Wilson, so not all bad.
