January 2020. We were the 3rd best team in the country. Cracks were starting to show with injuries. We needed 1, possibly 2 good signings to lift the squad & add depth. We signed Ryan Bennett on loan, & finished 5th.

It is sad, but I don't feel as sad as I know I should. Like many, I've become numb, almost indifferent to all of it. I'd go further than 'What we could have been' and change it to 'should have been'. The loss of Vichai, we can now see plainly, not only ripped apart a family, but took away our chance of spending maybe a decade at football's top table.

Thank you OF. I also travel from Cheshire and have done for all of those 45 years. Disconnected is putting it ever so mildly...

Cancelled after 45 years, and after the supposed deadline to prevent auto-renewal, with no issue. Gave the ticket office my reason: 'Top and Rudkin have destroyed the club and my 60+ year love for it. Shame on them both'. Funnily enough, that wasn't mentioned in the ticket office's email to me.

I’ve also been watching us since the mid 60s and don’t agree this is ‘the worst by far’. This and the Holloway team that also got relegated to League One were IMO as bad as each other. What distinguishes this squad for me is its likability. Or the complete lack thereof. It’s by a distance the most unlikable bunch of players we’ve ever had. And I say that with neither Faes nor Soumare around.

…we’d been ambitiously & well lead in the January window of 2019-20. Our decline, for me, is traceable back to that window. Second in the league in mid-December, Brendan’s team had played the best football I’ve ever seen from a Leicester team that autumn. But our squad lacked depth & was more vulnerable than our rivals’ to injuries. The answer, from our owner & DoF, was a deadline day loan signing of Ryan Bennett. We recovered admirably in January & February from the complete eviscerations by Man C & Liverpool over the Christmas period, and should have finished third. Instead, we won just two of our last ten, post-lockdown games, to finish fifth. We never looked like a really competitive top team again, IMO.

Dodgy keeper Knackered but much-loved RB injury prone CB/bad, ‘can’t pass’ CB Young Ben, poor lad, fancy learning with this lot Aluko, surely? Or a large traffic cone Skipp, oh well James 👏 Fatawu ‘What am I doing here with this pony?’ Mukasa A shit LW Daka, Lord help us. This, Top & Rudders, is what you’ve done to us. -
Richards proving to be another astute deadline day signing then…
-
That is very, very generous to Lascelles and pretty mean to Mukasa!
-
Not worth one without the other…
-
What was the point?
-
Anyone care to describe how Richards performed?

Er, nope. Apologies - I was in pedant mode.

And your English. You’re welcome

Hope that things will (eventually) get better

We all know that’s the only solution that could possibly lead to our resurgence. But the fact that Top doesn’t know this, see this or feel this is astonishing. And his fault: plainly, people aren’t recruited or promoted because they speak truth to power. Instead, incompetent lickspittles surround Top, and if you’re reasonably competent and/or have a view that differs from Top & Rudkin, you’re out (bye Susan). It sickens me that this nepo baby has any influence at all over my club, never mind autocratic control. My first season was 1965-66. This is the most disconnected I’ve ever been and despite being a ST holder, I’ve been to only three matches this season. I went to every home game in our one previous foray into League One, because our owner, manger & players cared. This lot? Not so much. So why should I? -

He wasn't the only one gassed on 55 minutes, but he was more gassed than others. Why? He's young, presumably fit, and hasn't been here long enough to sink to our general levels of unfitness. Genuinely puzzled -
That explains a lot. Them sharing a brain cell…

👏 Frontal cortex, innit!

I know he’s not liked on FT, but as a supporter since 1965-66, he’s the best CB I’ve seen in our shirt. IMO
