  1. Where’s the ‘Next Director of Football’ thread? ‘Cos until we get a competent one, it really doesn’t matter much who’s the next patsy in the manager’s seat
  2. Aah! It was often said of me at school that if I’d read the question… It was in fairness a long & pleasant lunch. Apologies @StriderHiryu!
  3. So, you’re saying Monga’s first goal will be an own goal for Charlton? And after winning 5 in a row and going unbeaten for the next six, only a 5-1 thrashing of Sheffield U sees us climb out of the relegation places? Shurely shome mishtakes there @StriderHiryu?!
  4. And you with only the one tooth too. I’ll put you down as ‘no thanks’ then
  5. And Brentford will shortly do the same, by appointing a manager most of us have never heard of but whose profile and football philosophy is just right for them, all before we get to know that RvN is in fact leaving...
  6. All about balance. Almost no one plays with two strikers now, and if there's to be only one, it has to be the GOAT! Mind, having Wortho & Sir Gary on the bench ain't bad!
  7. What's this then? Signing your replacement BEFORE letting your star player leave? Someone should tell our board about that. They might think it's illegal or something...
  8. In a 4231: Mahrez McAllister Weller Vardy Not 100% wedded to Gary Mac as no.10. But he edges out Sammels, Draper & Maddison for me… Weller’s in the Albrighton role
  9. Weller has to start!
  10. If Frank goes to Spurs, watch what happens at Brentford. Then compare that to the actions of our board. Not fit for purpose I’m afraid.
  11. Possible Ballon d'Or winner this year is just 17, proving that if you're good enough...
  12. I don't remember skin being an issue?
  13. For us, about 3-4 weeks too late...
  14. I’m surprised he was allowed in there
  15. The caveats are fair, but I agree: best defender we’ve had in my time watching LCFC, which goes back sixty years
  16. And like, except with the three attempts to lure Potter, and Rodgers to replace Puel, we’ve never had. The delayed sacking of Rodgers with no successor lined up was almost criminally incompetent. Points from the two games lost under caretakers before Smith’s arrival condemned us to relegation. How any of us can have any faith in these numpties to get this next appointment right (& give the manager the tools to do the job) is beyond me.
  17. Is that you @LinekersApples?
  18. We need both, with Evans as third choice and mostly used wide. IMO, obvs
  19. It might or might not sum up something, but it's definitely not the 'plurality' of our fan base. Did you mean puerility?
  20. Not an original thought but that’s not a team selection, it’s a suicide note. Absolutely honking eleven.
  21. Must. Not. Buy. Whatever it looks like, so long as the same trio run our club.
  22. Bit late for that @coolhandfox?!
  23. Unfortunately, you’ve just summed up the ‘rigorous process’ used to appoint managers by our board…
  24. Wasn’t there so will take your word for it Ric. There are many, many worse players than him in the Championship. If he wants to leave, no problem, but equally I’d have no problem with him being the experienced head among the forwards next season. ’Course, that means forcing DCR out, however much it costs!
  25. RVN is, like a few before him, being treated appallingly by our board, if Percy’s to be believed.
