The Running Thread (formerly How fast can you run a 5k?)
Ric Flair replied to Sly's topic in General Chat
Shit myself/nearly shit myself twice in recent weeks on early morning runs and it's starting to get to me hahaha. It's not even that my colitis is bad at the minute and I'll be devastated if and when that does flare up again as running will be pretty much off the agenda but it's absolutely buried me. I love running 1st thing and whilst many tut at going decent distances off no fuel or water it suits me better. But I've had one between me cheeks from about 8km in this morning and I made the error of going a route I've not done before as I've got bored of the same runs near me. Managed to get through Sharnford and back in to Aston Flamville and Hinckley before I filled me kegs. 15km in the bank and no pictures on the scorecard eh. -

Try Woolacombe Dunes park run pal. Absolutely vile dunes/hills of ankle deep sand. -
Development/Youth Squads 2024/2025 Thread - U18/U21

Find it surprising Jake Evans doesn't get in the U17 / U18 squads. Monga often gets called up to play for England in games outside of international breaks, think the U16s do a fair bit of that. -

Did very well at PSV the season before they then won the league. Developed young players, some of whom he'd coached in their academy team prior to that too. I'd say there's plenty to like about him.
-
Looks unbelievable in a roll neck too, that's no mean feat.
-
I wanted him in the summer. He did well at PSV.
-
I still look forward to taking my boy to games when I can but without that and the podcast I'd be done I'm convinced of it. Absolutely scandalous.

The saddest thing is I'm not even arsed. Somethings changed in me this season and I no longer really care. That's not a sign I'm behind the manager or aware of the difficult challenge he and we face. Far from it, he's one of the worst PL managers that's graced this league in years but the culmination of the decisions this club has or hasn't made has made me lose so much passion and emotion. I do worry if this will remain. Never ever thought I'd feel this way, anger and bitterness were always there as was elation and obsession but this is pathetic.

Serge Aurier in over the international break

If we keep more than 4 clean sheets this season under Cooper I'll be astonished.
-
Hahahahahahaaaa
-
Those who've been huge fans of Slot since his days at AZ Alkmaar will not be surprised, he's so effective.
-
Kwame Poku
-
Hahahaaa yeah I suspected that might be the outcome when it's bone dry.
-
I don't see where he fits in here anymore under Cooper. Anyway, we'd have to send one of Bounanotte or Edouard back to get another PL to PL loan in Jan.

Played Kilworth Springs for the 1st time in 25-30 years and got to say it's a reliable gaff that I will probably play again if I ever want somewhere that's in good condition all year round due to excellent drainage. Played pretty well considering I'm down to just 4-5 rounds a year these days. Shot 81 but struck the ball very well and was never in danger of anything more than a bogey on a hole. Short game was average.

Championship 2024/2025 Season Thread

Just read that. Will all be sorted I reckon and as you say will be a shrewd piece of business. Hopefully they don't come up and we get him for £12m in the summer. -

He's been poor the last three, up to that though I thought he'd done well. He's a very streaky player and whilst I'm not so sure we can carry him for long periods of mediocrity, he's underrated defensively so I don't think that's a major issue at the minute. It's more how we get that ruthlessness out of him again. I think in this run of tough fixtures and the overall amount of chances we are gifting the opposition that going 3-4-2-1 is an option with Kristiansen at LWB and Fatawu RWB. Or play Kristiansen as the attacking LB and El Khannouss tucked in at LW like Cooper set the team up with Justin sitting as a 3rd CB at the start of the season but Reid as the LW/10. -

He has been, although Hoops said he's back in training now. -
He's a very streaky player, last season he went spells of being completely ineffective and then large spells of being immense. He's capable at this level but he probably doesn't get quite as much freedom to play himself back in to form. Will need to shape up again quickly.

WHEN YOU'RE CLOSE TO TEARS REMEMBER, SOME DAY IT'LL ALL BE OVER, SOME DAY WE'RE GONNA GET SOOOOOO HIGH -
Not seen much myself but he was highly rated back end of last season and has really kicked on this season, hence the real hype. Think he's now gone from a £5-10m punt to double.

Ipswich away 2nd November Match Thread
Ric Flair replied to ozleicester's topic in Leicester City Forum
It's still very early days and changes quite quickly anyway. A few weeks ago Okoli looked shrewd business and Skipp whilst a large fee looked like he'd slotted in well. A few weeks later and both are less impressive and El Khannouss is now showing signs of being promising once he's settled in. I don't hate our business this summer bar the obsession with PL experience on players that were never going to be better than what we already had. -

He's with the squad. Evidently not impressing the coaching staff which is odd as thr LCFC admin seem to make a big thing of showing him in training.
