Is this any different to Ornstein, except that our asking price is much higher?
-
Yes, it certainly goes on at clubs which can be very beneficial if executed correctly. I get the sense, the faith is placed out of lacking the football knowledge.
-
Bingo. Not sure if there's an element of naivity or what's seen as " trust " but this seems to be putting most of your eggs in only one basket.
-
Not necessarily. The full amount for KDH gets booked this year and fills any black hole we have against FFP for this financial year. If we signed Sensi for £2m, O'Hare for £5m and even another for £8m, that £15m gets booked equally over their contracts, so the hit to this year's accounts against FFP would be maximum £4m + wages.

@Holly B has given some insight in to our highly rated he was/is. I remember flagging a few years ago some of the goals he scored for the U18s at the back end of the season, two of which involved him taking on several players and chipping the keeper. He's played attacking midfield, central midfield and as defender dropping in to midfield (music to Enzo's ears). I must admit, the games I've seen last season in the U21s weren't anything to write home about but he's looked comfortable on the ball, he's physically very able too. I'll get the piss ripped out of me here and deservedly so, but in some ways he's Sidnei Tavares-esque 😂😂😂
-
Been told he's not even in the squad. Cover, Raikhy and Silko Thomas are though. Cover starting. Although Enzo tends not to name his team until a few hours before kick off, so it could be presumptious.

It would be quite unlike us to do get 3 deals done in such a short space of time.
-
Just to counter this, he's gone to Newcastle. He'll have been offered a monumental pay rise.

Hahahahaaa great minds think alike pal. John Morris has worked on Rodgers coming to Leicester and Enzo coming to Leicester. He's Vardy's agent and looks pretty intertwined in plenty of Leicester dealings over the years. If we're in the shit financially, perhaps he's been tasked with raising funds for us and sorting a replacement. So we sell KDH (one of his/Wasserman) and buy O'Hare (one of his/Wasserman). Enzo/Morris/DeZerbi/KDH/O'Hare/Sensi This is like an episode of Hetty Wainthrop.

They've actually had a pretty ordinary season so far and I'm not so sure they are shoe-ins for Europe this season, unless they win something.
-
Think it might still be a bit too early for Alves to be involved today, that's a shame if so. Feel like we need some attacking flair.
-
World class that is, have a fcukin gew gew kaaaartin. Eeeezeh

But as you well know, the fire sales would need to actually make us money. For Daka last summer, even £15m and we'd have been worse off than keeping him due to what's left on his book value. I think we'd have actively sold Iheanacho and Ndidi if anyone offered us a decent fee, but again none were forthcoming. The 2021/22 accpunt year (last set of accounts) was the final year of Iheanacho's £25m transfer fee, so that would have been offset.

I shared this same view point about 2022 because of what we did with Fofana. Comforted that if we were that close to FFP we'd have had to sell him earlier but the sale of Maddison just before the end of June to balance the books made me consider differently. If the requirement to sell now because we're in the shit is only just been discovered then that's one thing, however stupid it is but if they knew we'd over spent in the summer and this was always going to have to be the end game then that's scandalous.
-
Over stretched ourselves last summer, comforted by FFP not having led to any points deductions and punishments and now extremely worried? It doesn't make sense but neither did the summer of 2022 either.

It was reported in the Italian press that Sensi was happening because we'd reluctantly agreed to sell someone. This is astonishing if it happens. I'm not sure £30m is a travesty in his true worth in regards to his ability but he's pretty much not for sale at any price with less than a week to go and absolutely integral to us getting promoted at the 1st attempt and preventing financial ruin. However, the last part of that paragraph is rumoured to be the issue. We've somehow fcuked ourselves financially again. If we are demanding £30m, I dread to think how desperate we are and how much we'd actually have available. We already need 2 new central midfielders, 3 if KDH goes. If we could get O'Hare for £5m and Sensi for £2m, that's a start but I'd need Nanasi or Gronbaek an'all.

So the story of us needing to sell a high value asset seems to be getting more and more true.

Development/Youth Squads 2023/2024 Thread - U18/U21

Silko Thomas as well. From the highlights vs Fulham this week, he looked an absolute menace cutting in off the left. -
Some good shouts there. Santos is the obvious choice and Chelsea owe us, but perhaps they aren't happy with us. O'Reilly was obscene for Man City U18s last season, not sure what's happened with him this season but he looks to have barely played for the U21s. Kane Taylor is one we should be looking at, contract up in the summer too along with Micah Hamilton.
-
At the very least we have to replace Casadei with a loan signing. If the Sensi deal still hinges on a permanent outgoing then I think that's very much in the balance. Looking at who's available might have to be calling in favours. Mahmoud Dahoud at Brighton isn't playing much and was touted as our Tielemans replacement before we got relegated. De Zerbi might let Enzo have him and get him some much needed minutes.
-
Yeah, that's next level misunderstanding if so!!! 😂😂😂

I really hope at the very worst its somewhere in between.

Is there a press conference this afternoon?
