  1. Despite our reprieve from relegation, two years out of three and there re-shuffle of the league, we are playing perceived inferior opposition and still getting battered. People will point to a decent return in 1st team players, but it could be so much better ran. This whole training ground ethos should have the academy as arguably its most important priority.
  2. Nelson unlikely neither, although I'm at least glad he's back from injury.
  3. I agree, play those that need minutes - Coady, Yunus, Daka, Souttar, etc and protect those who've played shit loads and/or had injury problems in the past - Ricardo, Justin, Winks, Ndidi etc.
  4. Absolutely no reason not to either, not a PL game on which has been the excuse previously. Not good enough from the club.
  5. Funny you should say that mate..... 😂😂
  6. Yes, we'd be able to spend but to get us to the squad level of previous years will cost us a fortune IMO.
  7. I thought he was less effective in a back three for our academy. Think it was 2 years ago when we mixed it up from a back 4 to a back 3 with him at RCB and he wasn't as dominant. I know we don't play a back 3 as such but Doyle's role with an invested full back the other side covers a lot of the left side of defence and on ovmccasion going forwards, I've not seen Nelson do that before but I know he's comfortable playing off his left foot. I've been waiting 2 years for him to get a chance so I'd not be against him getting opportunities.

  9. I mean, I've raised a few concerns that we don't have enough goalscorers in this squad but this is a little dramatic. We missed sitter after sitter going for a 4th vs Southampton and then likewise missed a few more when going for a 5th. Vs Norwich we were continuing to push and once again either missed good chances (McAteer open goal before he scored) or the final ball when 3 on 2 let us down. Maresca isn't a negative manager, he's not tending to bring defenders or destroyers on for the sake of it to protect a lead but whether we're losing, drawing or winning a game, the choice of pass in the build up phase doesn't change too much, the philosophy is to keep building. That can be frustrating but we're still only 8 league games in, we've won 9 in 10 games in all competitions and the immediate gains have been jaw dropping. I want more goals, whether we get them or not might be more down to the lack of finishing ability than tactics, but I do agree that our strikers tend to not be the ones getting the most chances a game, so unless you have natural finishers in midfield or out wide, we're going to have to keep finding ways to score more.
  10. There'll be a destabilising of the squad anyway, like there was this summer. We've another 8+ players out of contract and a few loan players. In these instances it's about the effectiveness of the manager whom is still at his optimum in getting his ideas across quickly to his players. It's rare for teams to come up and comfortably stay up in their first season spending conservatively, certainly not in recent years anyway. Fulham managed to do so last season but you look at Forest and Villa in recent years and it's startling. We still have a nucleus of established PL players but we're Maddison and Barnes genuine quality down already and we need an elite finisher if we harbour any intentions of being anything other than PL strugglers. £100m minimum but I'd say over two seasons more like £200m. Those that spend that when they come up tend to be because they've got so much FFP wriggle room as they've not maxed themselves out in recent years (victims of our own success). Let's hope this training ground musters up some quality from the academy.
  11. He's right footed, not so sure he's what fans are on about when they refer to an LCB. That's more in the mould of Colwill, Doyle type.
  12. I said when we signed him that Sporting for all the high profile massive fees they've got for players who've flopped like Slimani and Silva, they also flog very promising youngsters for bargain fees once the loan option is exercised. Did the same with Matheus Pereira at West Brom.
  13. If we go up, we'll need to spend heavily or pull several rabbits out of a hat. The gulf in class is massive.
  14. Hahahahahaa this is immense. Had the Bristol coach gone without him? 😂😂😂😂
  15. Liam Rosenior is proving to be a decent manager so far. Sets his teams up to be very difficult to beat.
  16. Here he is again 😂😂😂😂
  17. If we don't go up, I doubt we'll be paying £14m (the option price) for a player. We haven't even done that this summer.
  18. It's the same old theme, since 2016 In your head, in your head, they're still fighting With their shouts and their screams And their screams and their V's In your head, in your head, they are fuming In your head, in your head VARDY, VARDY, VARDY-Y-Y-Y He's in your head, in your head? VARDY, VARDY-VARDY-Y-Y-Y Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh, eh-eh oh, ya-ya
  19. He is Lloyd Dyer in going from the sublime to the ridiculous. He'll get goals and assists through law of averages and I think under Maresca he may well improve but what you see, is what you get. At this level he's a great signing for us.
  20. Ask Ricardo Pereira, he played on with an ACL and even tried to play on with a broken leg.
  21. HE'S IN YOUUUR HEAD, IN YOOOUURRR HEAD. VARDY, VARDY, VAAAAAARDY Y Y Y Y
  22. It's absolutely wild that we're already 8 points ahead of Leeds.
  23. Stolarczyk Albrighton Faes Coady Justin Yunus Choudhury Casadei Iheanacho Daka McAteer
  24. " Some refer to it as the gates of hell, especially for ACLs "
  25. When Shakespeare took over from Ranieri there was a handful of games where I thought Ndidi was the next Yaya Toure. Maresca's not been put off by the past 6 years 😂😂😂
