  1. Of course! Here's your text rewritten in an exquisite, upper-class English style: The truth of the matter is that the so-called "old school" tend to appear for the more significant fixtures, bedecked in their Stone Island attire, yet when the moment demands true courage, they invariably falter. I was, in my day, a founding and prominent member of the YBS; in those early years, it was invariably we, the younger generation, who were willing to stand our ground. We were, if I may say, game as anything. From what I hear, the young lads of today still show similar spirit (I myself am now thirty, with a wife and children, and have long since stepped away from such matters). It infuriates me to see these so-called veterans, now perched safely in the family stands, dressed head to toe in Stone Island finery, yet when trouble threatens to brew, they hide behind the excuse of having their children with them. That, of course, is entirely understandable โ€” but if one is no longer willing to stand firm, then one ought not to don the uniform of those who are still prepared to do so. Most of these so-called 'lads' have never truly been involved in anything resembling a proper altercation. I would wager that, out of fifty men โ€” despite the grand claims that "two hundred" were present โ€” no more than a dozen would actually step forward. The remainder scurry back to the tavern and, with no shortage of audacity, boast of encounters that never truly occurred. Would you like a version that's even more formal or slightly more old-fashioned, depending on the tone you're aiming for?

  12. I'm unsure about ownership change, it could be that top has completely lost interest. I just think he is too young and inexperienced for this project, he needs the support and guidance of a strong team of people around him at senior level. I'm really surprised that we've not seen vociferous protests against Whelan and Rudkin as they are the common denominators, the watch keepers of this entire debacle, personally I'd like to see change there before new ownership.
  13. Remember preseason, quite a few on here were convinced we were doomed to league one, even before a ball was kicked in anger. They must be totally made up with our current position?
  14. Enzo is a beautiful human being
  15. Based on those stats, he probably had more touches from the bench than the rest of our outfield players that first half ๐Ÿ™„

  19. First Game 1st September 1973, Liverpool at home I was six years old. 1-1 draw, I was carried in and out of the ground on my Brother in laws shoulders as the place was so rammed I'd have been crushed. We went on something like an 8 game unbeated run to begin the season, in the end finishing 9th. During that run we beat Man U home and away (contributing to their eventual relegation), Arsenal away. The electric atmosphere, passion and completely immersive experience was a massive shock to my 6 yr old senses, I had never experienced anything like it and I was hooked. I do agree, as you get older you seem to transition through stages of being a Fan, Supporter, and possibly much later on in life a follower. As said previously by other posters, hard knocks of life, and losing loved ones, puts football into perspective. Enjoy the good times, above all stick together through the bad, some of us have seen them all.
  20. My first game was 1973, followed city through thick and thin home, away. I'll enjoy the ride, support the team no matter what league we are in. "The good times and the bad".
  21. Who said anything about the fans being to blame for our predicament? We all know full well who's to blame. I just want rid of the plastics we've picked up.
