  1. I thought Soumare was poor for first 30 minutes or so but 2nd half I thought he played well and was a lot more progressive with his ball carrying and passing. That 2nd half needs to the blue print moving forward, we created some really good opportunities but lacked the quality or composure to take advantage.
  2. Really cannot agree with the negativity, this was a performance, in particular in terms of how we want to play that is a step in the right direction. We created some good chances what we have to accept is that we have lost players like Vardy, it’s not the managers style of play that is the issue, it’s the fact that we don’t have that out and our goal scorer in our side. However I thought Carranza had a promising cameo, once we get Ramsey back and play with a natural 10 with JJ and Winks in the pivot I think we really push on as an attacking force. More positives than negatives for me.
  3. I thought that was a decent performance, controlled the game and created a few decent chances, some better finishing and decision making and we could /should have scored 2 or 3 and won comfortably, not sure where the negativity is coming from, we got our wingers into play and in dangerous positions. Issue today was poor finishing and at times that little bit of quality on the final pass/cross. Frustrating that we didn’t win but not too much too complain about, our patterns of play were streets ahead of previous games.
  4. Definitely seeing better patterns of play and we look a lot more assured in possession at the back with Faes in the team, once Ramsey’s suspension is completed and JJ drops back alongside Winks we really kick on.
  5. Constantly the wrong side of play and in possession he is slow and laboured, ball speed of his passes are so slow as well. Need to move JJ back and bring on either Monga and move Mav inside to the No10 or move Ayew back and bring on Carranza.
  6. Long term I don’t think Ayew is the answer and players will overtake him, similarly as Monga will with Mavididi but currently these are probably the sensible and safe options to start games like these. Ayew is doing a good job of taking the pressure off the transition from the Jamie Vardy years.
  7. Easy to say but reality is look at Luke Thomas etc etc if Nelson was making mistakes then people would be getting on his back. I would like to see him in the squad and possibly in the side, but sometimes it’s about partnerships and whilst Nelson has a far higher ceiling I still think at this stage Vesty, Faes and even Okoli are better all round options, however over the next 9-12 months hopefully Ben will push on, I actually think he is seen as the alternative to Vestergard.
  8. I would say he is still the better option than Daka currently and hopefully with Winks, James and Riccy P in the team we will get our wingers into the game more to play off Ayew, who’s hold up play is pretty good.
  9. Can’t lie surprised that Soumare has made it into the team after last weeks shitfest, let’s hope he is on it today. Other than that not a lot to complain about with the starting XI.
  10. Who scored last week and was arguably one of our best players.
  11. I have a feeling we will see a few changes today and the starting XI will be - Jakub Hamza Vestergaard Faes Thomas Winks James Fatawu Ayew Mavididi Daka subs Vieltas Riccy VK Okoli/Nelson Skipp Page Monga BDCR Carranza
  12. Really hope this social media post doesn’t age like milk, a poor result today and I think a fair few Cov will be ramming those words back down his throat.
  13. I have no issue with this, he is more than capable for the level we will be at for the next couple of years and this gives us some protection to secure a future fee which would be 100% profit for PSR so as long as it’s on a sustainable wage structure then it’s a very sensible move by the club. My only concern with LT is his lack of physicality, he does get out muscled a lot and be bullied by physical pacy players.
  14. ⏳ Two weeks to go! In just 14 days, I’ll begin this year’s #ProstateUnited challenge — running 5km every single day throughout October to raise vital funds and awareness for Prostate Cancer UK proudly representing Team Leicester City ⚽🦊. This will be my third year in a row taking on the challenge. It doesn’t get any easier, but the reason behind it has never been more important. 🙏 I’d love your support — whether that’s a donation the link to my just giving page is below, a share, or a few words of encouragement to keep me going. Every step counts in the fight against prostate cancer a disease that affects 1 in 8 men and takes a life every 45 seconds. Thank you for helping to make a difference and thank you to everyone who has donated, shared and sent messages of support so far, you are all legends 💙🖤 https://prostateunited.prostatecanceruk.org/fundraising/stephens-fundraising-page450 #ProstateUnited #ProstateCancerUK #LCFC #CharityChallenge #RunningForACause #TwoWeekCountdown
  15. Cracking win, good way to bounce back after last week, especially with the sending off. Gives the club something to build on.
  16. Just thinking about it for all the huff and puff of Oxford they didn’t really threaten that much. Both their goals were very sloppy on our side and then the only real shot in anger was the one in the first half that hit the bar, other than that they resorted to long range efforts. We created far better chances and there keeper had to make 2 or 3 decent saves plus the chance for Skipp when he should/could have shot instead of delaying it.
  17. Has to be Kalac for me, cost us both goals and was just a general bomb scare in goal. Ramsey was a rush of blood to the head, after just getting into the game and having a decent long range effort saved.
  18. Yesterday was the final nail for me, especially now Winks appears to have cleared the air and reintegrated, plus the addition of JJ gives us the options to take Soumare out. Skipp whilst limited has looked better and his work rate in the last few games has been very good. He will be a great option to bring off the bench to close games out and bring fresh energy when legs are tiring.
  19. My team would be - Stolarczyk Ricardo Okoli Vestergaard Hamza Winks James Fatawu Mavididi Monga Ayew subs Vieltas Aluko Faes Nelson Skipp Page Evans S.Thomas Carranza
  20. I thought up to the sending off our pressing looked better especially from the forward players, Soumare was awful but getting booked in the 3rd minute didn’t help matters, there was evidence that our patterns of play are improving, but when the red card came we were all over the place until half time. Ayew was excellent yesterday from start to finish, looked sharper and more direct, good to see him get a goal and could have had another but for a good save by the keeper. Okoli and Stolrcyrk were off it today, but that will happen at times, I felt Okoli missed challenging a header just before the shot that Jakub only parried to their player and then they tucked home the rebound. That mistake by JS seemed to really rattle him and his distribution was really poor after that. Okoli seemed all over the place in the 20 or so minutes from the sending off to half time as did most of our side. The 2nd half subs and tactical tweaks were excellent and wrestled back control of the game and we played some really good stuff at times despite being a man down. The move for Riccy’s goal was sublime. I think the chaos behind the scenes regards players wanting to move on plus some injury/fitness issues has meant the selections haven’t necessarily been the starting XI Marti would select in normal circumstances hopefully next week we will see our strongest XI and this will be the springboard to kick our season on.
  21. I honestly think he knows this isn’t our strongest starting XI but that has been some injuries and fitness issues plus the back drop of a few players actively looking to move on, so it’s been a bit chaotic. Riccy, JJ and Winks will become more and more involved now, the Winks situation reminds me a lot of the Garry Parker stand off with MON and once resolved he came back in and was a key player. We have fight and togetherness now and I think the team selections will start to move towards our strongest team and we will really kick on.
  22. He picked the same team as the team that started against Birmingham and won, except for replacing the injured Page. People clamouring for Riccy P to start, he has been injured and clearly his game time is being managed to prevent further setbacks, as for Winks yes he was class today in the 2nd half but this was the same player who started against Preston and stank the joint out. Okoli has been a starter in the last 2 games that kept a clean sheet. I didn’t have an issue with Marti’s selection today. JJ has trained once with the team, since signing, however off the back of today and the fact Winks now looks to have reintegrated himself, then I suspect next weeks team selection will be a lot closer to our strongest starting XI.
  23. I understand what you are saying but don’t agree, the offence is where he is offside, not where he touches the ball. It would be like a player being fouled, ref allowing advantage to then give the free kick but 15 yards further up the pitch because that is when the player lost the advantage. It’s a bollock of a rule.
  24. Or the manager is making subs on the basis of the in game situation. One very late sub where an experienced player comes on to close a game out with 10 men, hardly means BDCR is ahead of Monga. Think people are over reacting in regards to the younger players, he has included a 16 year old and 17 year old in his line ups and also had players like Silko Thomas, Aluko and Nelson involved in his matchday squads. I have no doubt the young players will get their chances but in certain circumstances like today he made the right call.
  25. Ahhhhh fair enough i stand corrected however surely the free kick should be where the offence took place, but hey ho
