Marti Cifuentes appointed new manager
Claudio Fannieri replied to Tuna's topic in Leicester City Forum
Exactly, also look at Monga, he was pretty anonymous last week at Charlton when he started, but off the bench has been electric. I want to see academy players bloodied but in reality this is a physically demanding league with lots of games playing 2/3 games per week and players like Monga, Page, Evans etc will benefit far more and be more effective as impact subs for the next few months whilst there bodies continue to develop and get to grips with the demands of professional football. We need a striker, attacking midfielder and deep lying midfielder. BEK and Winks attitudes are not going to change overnight and too be honest for me not sure I would want them reintroducing as they have thrown Marti, fellow players and the club under a bus. I want them gone in the next couple of days. -
Jordan Ayew - NEVER PLAYING FOR LEICESTER AGAIN!!!
Claudio Fannieri replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
He definitely kills the option for us to play quick high tempo football, especially when he plays as the main striker, however as the attacking midfielder he is pretty good and I am warming to him as he does work hard for the team and seems a very good role model to the young academy players. If we can bring in someone to replace BEK and a striker, I think Ayew would be a great option off the bench for the last 20 minutes of games. Especially when we are looking to close out a lead. He shouldn’t be starting for the reasons stated by so many but he is a bloody good pro and seems to be one of the senior players who is buying into what Marti is trying to do. -

I don’t think it’s a case of Marti not fancying him it’s his dogshit attitude. I don’t want to hang onto a player who doesn’t want to be here and doesn’t want to play for us. -
Was excellent again tonight is really maturing this season and is doing a great job as captain 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I loved that, far from perfect or pretty but bloody hell what a difference it is to see players giving their all and battling for everything. Again I will say it so many criticised Enzo for no plan B and an inability to grind out results or win games in an ugly manner, and yet first things I see is we have been dominated by a side who were in league one last season. Point 1 - much like under Brendan and to some degree under Enzo they did have more possession but it was largely played in front of us and without a cutting edge. Point 2 - we have found a way to win without dominating the ball, we have found a way to be difficult to break down. If we can bring in 1 or 2 quality players and add that creative edge will be in a very very good place. That is a big big win- 330 replies

Excellent tonight, all over the pitch worked his socks off and worked so well with Soumare.

Marti Cifuentes appointed new manager
Claudio Fannieri replied to Tuna's topic in Leicester City Forum
If that was Martin O’Neill everyone would be saying what a masterclass and about the never say die attitude. This is a club in disarray and yet Marti has managed to bring a group of players together who have shown a desire and commitment to play for the badge. Loved it tonight, nowhere near from a technical aspect but every single player giving it their everything. That makes me feel connected and proud. Well done Marti 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 -
Absolutely superb tonight if he replicates that every week then he could quite possibly be the player we have been missing.

Nowhere near where we want to be in possession which is understandable when some of your best technical players are having a strop. Out of possession we have been superb, Skipp and Soumare have done a great job of shielding the back 4. Hopefully Faes, BEK, VK and Winks go before Monday and it means we can bring in 2 or 3 new signings that will freshen it up and give us a bit of quality where we need it. it does make me smile somewhat when so many fans battered Ruud, Enzo and Brendan for not mixing it up and grinding out results when things are difficult and here is Marti doing exactly that and getting a bit of stick. It ain’t pretty but it’s better than getting our arses handed to us because we have to play one way.

Ricardo has literally played 10 minutes last week after injury, throwing him in could risk a long term injury. As for Winks and BEK get them sold don’t want anyone hanging around the club with a toxic rotten attitude. Sellling these could be the difference and allow us to bring in 2 or 3 that freshen things up.

Will he be on the bench, if so it’s a bit of strange one, as if your head is not right to be selected or don’t want to risk injury then is there any point in putting him on the bench. -

Will be interesting to see who is included and who isn’t, we could be potentially be left threadbare if the likes of Faes, Winks and BEK do miss the game due to possible exits. -
Bilal El Khannouss (Stuttgart loan, official)
Claudio Fannieri replied to lcfc_forever's topic in Transfer Talk
I can see us settling for £27.5m + £2.5m in add ons as I can see him and his mum kicking off to get his move away. I still think he will miss tonight’s game with a mysterious illness or slight niggle. The last thing we need is to keep an unhappy player it’s already challenging enough. Personally we need find a compromise that works for all parties and move on. -
I know people will say we don’t need him etc etc but we don’t know what is happening behind the scenes especially as the window is due to close on Monday. Maybe a club or two have expressed an interest in Mavididi and the club are looking at potential options (Solomon & Murphy) just in case something develops. Clubs will have a list of potential targets for each and every position. It could be that enquiries have been made as a contingency ahead of a busy few days

Glasner stated Eze was available and in Palace squad last week only for him to pull out on day of game due to “illness” I wouldn’t be shocked in the slightest if he missing tomorrow due to a bug or a niggle …….. -
Wout Faes (Besiktas interest, Fabrizio Romano)
Claudio Fannieri replied to jonny_wright's topic in Transfer Talk
I think it will be more like £12m + a couple of million in add ons -
Bilal El Khannouss (Stuttgart loan, official)
Claudio Fannieri replied to lcfc_forever's topic in Transfer Talk
My nervousness would be we exit the window with a very disconnected and pissed off Faes, Winks and BEK because the moves they were expecting don’t materialise. I appreciate all 3 are professionals and need to knuckle down however it is a concern the damage that could be done if the three of them do spend the following 4 months downbeat and effectively checked out of the club, could have a really detrimental impact to what Marti is trying to instill. There is no guarantee that the closure of the transfer window will magically change any of these players mindsets and we have evidence of what can happen when players go through the motions at a club, Tielemans , Evans et al in our first relegation season. -

Claudio Fannieri replied to lcfc_forever's topic in Transfer Talk
I still think a move will materialise before Monday, there will be a couple of teams who panic and will look to add more creativity before window shuts. My money is on one of Spurs, Villa, Wolves, Leeds or Sunderland coming in with an offer that we deem acceptable. -

Claudio Fannieri replied to lcfc_forever's topic in Transfer Talk
Too be fair it’s a two way street, I ain’t gonna boo Bilal but I sure as shit ain’t going to clap and cheer players who have made it abundantly clear they couldn’t give two fcuks about the club or its fans and can’t wait to get out of here. -
Bilal El Khannouss (Stuttgart loan, official)
Claudio Fannieri replied to lcfc_forever's topic in Transfer Talk
I think this is his last gasp effort to try and draw an interested club to pay something close to our asking price, whilst also trying to put Leicester under some pressure to agree a decent compromise. Still think he will go before the end of the deadline. -
The sale of Kristensen at £13m would create £7m-8m of PSR profit, even if we buy players on 3 or 4 year deals this would enable us to spend between £21m and £32m depending on the length of contract for amortisation. So we could sign this guy for £12m-£14m and still have money left for other positions if needed.
-
Players don’t really make transfer requests any more however they can make it pretty clear they want away and I think winks has done exactly that, just got to hope that a club that suits him location wise comes in with an acceptable offer before the window closes. Given our stance with Bilal where it’s clear we now do not need to sell unless our valuation is met, I do wonder if it slightly changes our stance the other way in the case of players like Winks and Faes where we may have PSR leeway now to be able to accept a slightly lower fee but to be able to shift a want away player on a hefty wage.

Victor Kristiansen (an option for Forest, Percy.)
Claudio Fannieri replied to davieG's topic in Transfer Talk
Rumoured fee is £13m given his book value will be about £5.5m that would be £7.5m profit and could give us leeway to spend £30m - £35m -

I still think he goes but difference is now we are in a stronger negotiating position. Reckon we sell for £35m including add ons.
