If we lose against Sheffield Wednesday, what reason is there to just not play the u23s. We can't change what's happened or bring a whole new playing squad in, Rowett can see he isn't getting a tune out of this lot, he's not here next season, is that even really a gamble?
-
Some of the goals we conceed are worse than Sunday league goals I agree. It's clear the players aren't Sunday league players though as they wouldn't be a professional footballer period. The problem is the psychology of the club as a whole has been on a downward trajectory for 5-6 years and that manifests itself in stupid individual mistakes.
-
I acknowledge they are shit players but what I'm saying is the likes of Huth, Morgan, Albrighton, Simpson Okazaki who weren't anything special at other clubs, where we had that good environment before, given that same positive environment, I'm saying those players you've listed would perform better. Thomas was in the team at times when we were in the top 6 of the premiership. We have better individual players than Millwall but a far worse team, a team is the collective.
-
Such a strange argument 8/11 players of the 15/16 team wouldn't have improved any of the big boys but momentum plays a huge factor, as does being in an environment that allows you to perform over your individual capability.

We need the next Klopp not the next Pep, going for Pep ball types has led to the decline.

If we had a manager we actually trusted on a long contract, they'd be playing youth as a rebuilding job. As it is anyone else will just play who they think will give them a better chance of winning a given match. Good management would have blooded someone else 2 years ago, if they'd done that whoever that was would currently be better than Ayew or Daka wther that was Hirst, Evans or whoever else.
-
In a normal team, the striker is the one who takes a penalty, I seen penalty awarded on Skysports and thought I don't even know who the penalty taker is, I don't really trust anyone, may as well have gave Jakub a go, think of the 11 of them probably only 2 or 3 would scored with the situation we are in.

Was it Okolis fault for the first and 2nd goal against QPR? I mean neither are great at the moment but if we can't understand this decision based on that game alone, from a manager that clearly rates him, I don't know what to say. It's clear Nelson will be at the club longer than Okoli, but let's take him out the firing line for now, he probably wants to do the same with the GK as well, people go on about letting Vardy go but letting Schmeichel go is more a reason why we are where we are.

I really think we need some stability, if he keeps us up I'd give him a 2 year contract, first year clear out more deadwood, change the mentality, stabilise in the championship, 2nd year goal would be promotion to premiership, even if he took us up to Premiership, I'd make him reinterview as the possibility of candidates is far greater at that point, if we went down to league 1 I'd actually still offer him a 1 year contract, if things keep trending like the first 5 games, say we go down but it's close.

LCFC 2-0 Bristol City, post-match thread
Beachyboy replied to Phil Mitchell's topic in Leicester City Forum
Good that he thought of a strategy to prevent late goals even in Rowetts time we have the Stoke equaliser and the Ipswich equaliser. It has taken other managers far longer to recognise this pattern which started probably 5 years ago. -
The argument will be we haven't got anyone else but I'd like to see some youth players even if they aren't ready, they may become ready by playing, some may shock us, I know that's easier said then done when you come into a struggling team, but most kids play without fear and with everything to prove.
-
I didn't hear that, it was all a bit strange how it was communicated as usual, if the recruitment wasn't so bad, we wouldn't even be thinking of Vardy, though clearly he's a better striker than we have on the books there's probably at least 20 available within budget that we could have signed and haven't that would be on the level of Vardy now.
-
Bang on, what we used to be so good at we are now awful at, all the best signings when we were good were unheard of players or cast offs, now we sign players who everyone has heard off, but are all cast off from lower tier prem teams. It can't have been Vichai leaves sadly earlier than expected, we collapse we did manage to win the FA Cup after, surely one of the lessons Vichai would have passed on us how to interview, knowing how to intuitively sense who looks good on paper but won't fit and vise versa, top either wasn't listening or it's something you just can't teach.
-
Do Vardy didn't have any say in what he wanted to do with his own life?
-
The value of the club will be far less than the wages if it carries on for 6 months, Top either cashes out his losing bet or gets **** all soon. If the process doesn't start now, it's the latter.
-
Make it 12 points at that point it becomes a lost cause, the players think we're already relegated and will probably start to win with the pressure off.
-
So why do we keep looking at the manager we can't change a whole squad, with a transfer window shut, getting relegated lowers the value by 100 million plus, get a sports psychologist in.
-
Half the youth team when the mercenaries finally **** off
-
How do we work out the contracts for these players? I'm guessing we take the market value and say that's far too low you can have 3 or 4 times that amount.
-
Why was winks not where Thomas was there? from that corner on the edge of the box unmarked
-
The mentality has been the issue, if you can notice a change in that in the space of 1 week, you'd think as more time is available the ideas will be clearer. He's very clear on what he wants, we've lacked that clarity of communication since Enzo left, strikes me he's hard but not to hard as he recognises he needs to get some players on side and build confidence.
-
I can't remember when I last felt confident before the game, we've seen resilience, really looking forward to this game, I couldn't watch the 2nd half against Stoke but I've seen enough now to think if we go a goal down or face some adversity Saturday, there's a bit of backbone, I have to watch the full 90 minutes regardless of how the game goes its probably been a good 6 months since I've felt like that.
-
I feel really confident and if you look at what has happened the last two games there's been a resilience that wasn't there, conceding after 2 minutes and then just before half time, this team fell apart against Southampton now there's a backbone. When we look at what's brought us the greatest success initially Pearson sacked and brought back, Ranieri struggled with Greece I think, Rogers had something to prove again in the premiership, that's when we started to lose our way though the last 5-6 years. The reason I love this club stems back to when Rowett would of played under O'Neil that Foxes never quit mantra, he keeps talking about restoring the connection with the fans, wouldn't surprise me if he's had his eye on this job for a year, he could see we were on a downward trajectory and whereas before he wouldn't be considered now he is, biggest opportunity of his career he knows that, we need to get back to what we were before we started thinking to big time Charlie, early days but we have a man in charge that has a connection with the club and a personal point to prove with everyone that has wrote him off.
-
We've seen with Salford you can get to League Two fairly quickly with the right people involved, it's only one step away from where we will be anyway.
-
I don’t think either of those things are likely to happen in the next 2 months which means this time next year the club valuation will probably mean its worth less than the annual salaries of the players.
