Any City centre car park is likely to be extremely busy just 2 weeks before Christmas. Potential for a long queuing time.

For whatever reason, some fans all over the country leave early and have done for years. I started watching City in the 60s and stood on the Pop. Side. When the fans in the Main Stand used to leave before the end, they were given a lot of stick. These days, West Ham is very noticeable for empty seats towards the end of a game. There is far too much time spent on here, trying to dictate to fellow supporters, how they should behave at the game. I don’t know why anyone would think that fans go to a match just because they’ve done it for years and can’t be bothered not to go. We go presumably, because we love our club. Football is a very emotive sport and organised singing has never been a part of it. It’s spontaneity that governs the emotions. I always sing at games but the most noise is generated by happenings on the pitch, whether it’s a great piece of play, a near miss, or some perceived miscarriage of justice against us. Look how the whole crowd reacts when opposition fans attack JV. Just support the team without fretting because not enough fans are throwing themselves into others when City score.

On a number of occasions, he was having to come deep. Not all of his passes were misplaced, he was the only player to get the ball to Fatawu, who must have thought he was in the stands for the match.

Why do you assume that so many ST holders have fallen out of love for football but are PETRIFIED to give up their ST in case they can’t get another one at some point in the future. Has it never occurred to you that they actually have a ST precisely because they love the club? I have had a ST for 37 years. That is not a boast but a fact and I continually object to being told by apparently far better supporters than me, that I should give it up! Why should I be dictated to by such patronising and arrogant people?

EFL Officiating Abomination Journal 23/24

There certainly was uproar with time added on against Hull and absolute disbelief! -
Walkerleeds, why assume I don’t support City vocally? I have previously stated that I always support them vocally, by physically, what do you mean. I attend home and away and resent the constant barbs directed at fans like me. All clubs have long term loyal fans, that’s not something to be ashamed of, it’s a fact of life. Do you want all fans attending matches to be under a certain age? Look more closely at fan bases on MOTD, all age groups are represented. Do you not realise that there is history attached to clubs? Do you sing Leicester till i Die or Leicester till I reach 40, then I must stop going.

Same old, same old, bashing the older supporters by presumably much younger supporters. It’s all getting pretty boring, week in week out. Will those of you moaning about them still be following the City in 30 or 40 years time, or will you bow out like you expect the current oldies to, at about 45. There are many younger fans who do not sing or chant at games, just as there are many older fans who do. As for saying that they go to away matches just for a day out with no interest in the match, why would they put themselves through the potential of being pushed and shoved by younger fans showing, (for the social media photos), how they are better supporters by injuring anyone who gets in the way. I like to think that I love my club as much as anyone else does, that’s why I spend my pension on match tickets and petrol, not for a ride out.

So 1 person reacting to Raj in the way he did, sums up our fan base! Really?

Well said guest123 regarding how to celebrate a goal. The spontaneous reaction of most fans is to rise up out of their seats, whilst clapping and probably jumping up and down. When City score, this is what I do. I don’t think about some sort of rehearsed celebration where I throw myself around on top of others, in order to look impressive on social media in case someone is filming me. Also, I don’t spend those moments looking round at other fans to see what they are doing as I’m too busy living the moment. It seems to me that those complaining on here, are the ones who are obsessed with other’s reactions and are not celebrating the goal.

Totally agree with the ridiculous “limbs” obsession. For “limbs”, read “assaulting other fans by throwing yourself into them, knocking them over seats or knocking down the stairs”, when City score. This apparently makes you a better fan. I still have the bruises from Southampton after being shoved around. As for how other fans celebrate a goal, it’s a spontaneous act and I only see fans in front of me jumping about, as I’m too busy enjoying the moment to look around to see what others are doing. As for fans not reacting on the kop, all the goals I’ve watched TV, shows everyone celebrating. The cameras focus on the players and by the time they show the fans, they are either still standing, clapping and discussing the goal, or sitting back down doing the same.

My main concern is that he doesn’t seem to be doing any actual defending. Faes is putting in the tackles and Vesty is left with quite a bit of space to play out. Nobody seems to be going one on one with him or having a foot race. I accept that he is playing well but I’m worried that when he is called on to defend at close quarters, he will be found wanting. Hope he proves me wrong.

Here we go again, whining about how wonderful other fans singing/chanting is. I thought City’s fans were ok on to. the other night and on a number of away matches on the radio. Looking at the Spurs fans’ video for Maddison, how come nobody adapted that simple song for Madders! The European fans have always been more dynamic and passionate than English fans. It’s not in our DNA to be so . Our passions are stirred by events on the pitch and we respond accordingly. We can’t just pretend to be excited. Also, we are watching a football match, not judging a singing contest.

The Mercury are an absolute disgrace. I couldn’t find anything about County actually reaching the final or winning it. There would appear to be nobody at the paper who can report on cricket. Absolutely disgraceful non support for one of our unsung teams. Well done County. I thought we were all going home by just after lunch, but great play in particular by Swindells, Evans and young Josh Hull.

Leicester City’s 12 greatest ever strikers (Ranked)
OnlyOneCity replied to davieG's topic in Leicester City Forum
Keith Weller had wonderful ability on al types of pitches. He was a superb dribbler and would glide past players as if they weren’t there. He could also score goals. Mahrez was also a superb player for us and I think their relative skills make them equals. BTW, Weller played in the 70s when the gates were decent, not 10,000. It’s always tricky trying to compare players from different eras. There have been many skilful players from the past who would have excelled in the present day, given the current Hi Tech facilities, protection from refs, and grassy pitches all year round. We were very blessed to have had 2 such brilliant entertainers in our team. -
Like many others have said, WYS has been sung for many years down the City. Trouble is, it always was sung quickly I think, just to get to the wiggly hands at the end and was barely recognisable at times. Personally, I love the version we sing now. It’s the right tempo for everyone to join in with. I still hear fans singing the original during the match. That Arsenal one is a bit bizarre and sounds like it could have been sung in the underground during the war, when every was sheltering from the bombs!

Just googled it, Arsenal. Nice song but sounds like something from Titanic😉

Which ground is the other video please?

Leicester City In 100 Players: Muzzy Izzet
OnlyOneCity replied to davieG's topic in Leicester City Forum
For me, Muzzy trumps Madders every time. He could do anything Madders could do and still stay standing! Scored some spectacular goals and was an immediate hit with the fans. (Remember the Fezes)? I went on a stadium tour where Walshie and Elliott were the hosts. They were asked who if anyone from their era, would have got in the Premier league winning team, without hesitation, they both said Muzzy. Everyone on the tour agreed. He was a superb footballer and if Glen Hoddle hadn’t have been the England manager, would have been in the England squads. (Hoddle sold him to us)! He was the top scoring midfielder at the time. -
The music before the match is far too loud. You shouldn’t have to go to the concourse to chat about the forthcoming match with the people around you. It’s not a rock concert. I have to shout to the bloke next to me and vice versa just to discuss the team selection. Sometimes we just give up. There must be some H & S issue regarding loud noise!
-
Not a new chant but a song which for me, will always be associated with City, post the 1990s Wembley trips. Rockin* all over the World by Status Quo. Used to be played after games we’d won. Is still a good omen for me when played on Gold on the morning of a match.

Trekerz, are you referring to the pissed up morons as “fans”? They are a pain in the arse, I too have been battered by these so called fans, when celebrating a goal. No wonder they couldn’t be trusted with standing areas.
-
The constant baiting and insulting of the older fans, continues unchecked on here without showing responses from fans that don’t have these views. It seems that the “younger, apparently proper fans”, would appear to spend the matches looking at these older fans and not the game. It’s astonishing that the old fans are able to even climb the stairs to the seats. As it would appear that there are so many old fans “allowed” to get away tickets, the very few young’uns make a remarkable noise on their own. I am over 70 and always sing and chant at games and am not the only one of my bygone age group. Perhaps you could tell us the average age of all other teams supporters as you seem so obsessed with our own.

No doubt many youngsters did behave like this at Filbo, but you wouldn’t then have had your actions posted on social media, suddenly making you some sort of hero and being able to big it up to your mates and feel the need to keep up the image.
