  1. My hard work for today is done and I am not very good at maths and conversions so I will translate in pictures. We are the little guy.
  2. It was a bad year for injuries, alright! cut me some slack.
  3. I am FIFA through and through, always have been. I have, however, downloaded the PES demo and must admit it is the first time it has turned my head. The only things that is keeping me with some ties to FIFA is the licencing and stadiums. I have always felt that there is less freedom in FIFA and the ball movements often feel as though they are scripted and on rails. Certain saves and rebounds you can bet your house will land at the feet of opposing strikers as opposed to fizzing out of play like in real life. The thought of playing with East Midlands Blue may still make me sway towards FIFA.
  4. We had 12 corners today against Wolves but it would have taken a miracle to have scored from any given one of them. (admittedly quality of delivery is routinely poor) Corner kicks are such a great avenue for bagging goals however I fear for our aerial ability in this squad in both attacking and defending corner kicks. I can't see any of our players, other than Big Wes if ever he plays, scoring from a corner other than perhaps a goal line scramble. I also think that we could be vulnerable when defending corners and I think corners in general could be an Achilles heel this season. Our Ariel strength in both attack and defence likely comes from the 4 names below, albeit Praet likely not to be regularly starting. Soyuncu - 185CM Evans - 188CM Ndidi - 183CM Praet - 181CM In both attack and defence against teams such as.... Arsenal Luiz - 189CM Aubameyang - 187CM Xhaka - 185CM Mustafi - 184CM Kolasinac - 183CM Burnley Tarkowski - 185CM Rodriguez - 185CM Barnes - 186CM Chelsea Rudiger - 190CM Alonso - 188CM Christensen - 188CM Loftus Cheek - 191CM Giroud - 192CM (Just the first 3 random teams I picked) Whilst I know height stats alone don't prove or disprove aerial ability - the players mentioned are generally physically and aerially strong as well as their height. I am that guy that manages to get Manchester City relegated on football manager so by no means believe I am a master tactician or competition for Rodgers job. I just think that aerial ability could be a real issue this season - Does any one have similar thoughts or opposing thoughts that could fulfil my confidence?
  5. Solid performance by Manchester United today and they really took advantage of a poor Chelsea. Looks like James will cause a lot of teams a lot of problems and I prey he doesn't play against Chilwell! I agree that Maguire had a solid game but he was far from MOTM and the plaudits from the pundits throughout the match were a bit cringeworthy in the end.
  6. I just saw Soyuncu thread appear active in the transfer section; For a split second I thought it was going to be a Man Utd transfer rumour with them pencilling in a 90M cheque with January's date on it!
  7. I don't think too much attention should be paid to Chelsea's defeat today. Whilst admittedly they did look poor overall, they could easily have found themselves ahead from the first half and their woe's all began with Zouma's clumsy tackle - Definitely a player for Vardy to exploit next week. Chelsea still have a very strong team with Kante likely starting at full fitness next week. I fear that someone like Giroud will exploit us aerially should he play and then the pace of Abraham could well cause us problems should they cut our back line as easily as Wolves did. I have no doubt that Chelsea will be a completely different outfit next week at home to us than they were today away at Old Trafford. With that being said, if we can play a more attacking style of football, and make the very few chances we will get count - We certainly have the ability to come away with some points.
  8. Statistics speak for themselves for Demarai Gray really; Appearances - 111 Goals - 8 Assists - 6 Cross Accuracy - 17% Shot Accuracy - 34% (Stats taken from Premierleague.com) At 23 years of age he is no longer a hot prospect and whilst there's clearly ability in there somewhere, it's time for another club to find it.
  9. I agree but it's the 2nd time Chelsea have offloaded him now. Makes me wonder if he is a problem player behind closed doors? I get Vibes Lampard wouldn't stand for any problem players. I'm probably totally wrong..
  10. Had about 7 people come upto me saying Hi Stan. Now I know why you Ba#@%rd.
  11. Just watching the Man Utd vs Chelsea game.. Who's Utd's No 5 with the big head? He looks like a poor man's Soyuncu.
  12. It got us a point today so I absolutely love it. I'm sure it will cost us a goal soon enough then I'll hate it. ... I'm that kinda guy!
  13. I get it's the first game but I don't necessarily think the negative comments are embarrassing. I would say all of our key players were quiet all game. Soyuncu was my stand out player. Lots more attacking from the off, we could have buried Wolves in the first half when in reality, if it wasn't for VAR, we would be discussing a 1-0 home loss right now. Whilst I'm not horrified, I'm certainly not overwhelmed from what I've seen.
  14. What I'm getting at is that goals win games, not possession. Whilst goals often come from possession, that's not something we can rely on as the tactic doesn't suit our team.
  15. Yeh, but it's a play style that matches their player qualities - not ours. Suarez would have missed Vardys open goal with a silly flick? Messi would have missed the target with every shot like Ndidi? You can't compare us to Barcelona, neither their tactics.
  16. Oh, look, it's gone rather quiet from all the people who thought possession won games. Whilst it's been disallowed, Its enough of a scare to prove the point that possession doesn't win games. The way wolves have come out, things need to change.
  17. I'd rather be 1 up with 6% possession than 70% 0-0. Whilst it stays at is it, it only takes one sloppy Wolves goal to kill us. Need some goals, or atleast reasonable attempts. Wolves are there for the taking but not with the current tactics.
  18. Mixed thoughts really. Yes we have dominated possession but Wolves certainly were not at their best and on another day we could be one or two down despite the possession. Having said that, if Vardy would have tapped the open goal in rather than trying a fancy flick, we wouldn't be at 0-0. On the brightside, other than one small arse twitch moment, Soyuncu has looked as good as Maguire. That last Wolves attack where he tracked back, Maguire would still be 30 yards behind dragging the excess weight of his head!!
  19. I always worry that when we control possession as we are doing, we'll end up giving away a silly goal. Probably a kasper kamakaze kick or something! Got to make this possession count!
  20. This was uploaded onto the Premier Leagues YouTube channel 4 days ago and features goal after goal of a great calibre. These are not just all Mahrez and Vardy, but also many great goals from Filbert Street that may well be forgotten. Well worth a watch if you have 15 minutes spare - especially in anticipation of us kicking off our season! Enjoy goals from the likes of Izzet, a cracker from Marcus Bent, Paul Dickov, Tony Cottee.
  21. This is a really hard one to call. It will be interesting to see if Wolves are on fire again or if they end up being an anti climax. Either way, I certainly see ourselves as being the weaker team going into this but here's for hoping.
  22. Whilst I am not going to sit here and be bitter by saying good riddance, I must admit I am a lot less bothered about Maguire's exit than I was Mahrez, Kante and even Drinkwater (At the time)… Yes Maguire is good, and yes his daft runs gave a bit of excitement at times but they were just some of the displays of how out of position he could find himself. For the position in which we are aiming in the league, I'm not sure his departure will be the making or breaking of us. The arrival of Tielemans numbs any pain for me.
  23. The only thing that Morgan has stopped, is 2 seasons too long.
  24. Some geezers been smashing out autographs and accepting hand jobs.
  25. Well that of course but if someone is doing something to benefit me, I would offer at least a bottle of wine or crate of beer.
