Madders has been our best FK specialist and that’s because he really practiced them day in day out like Beckham used to. i agree we need someone atleast half decent. I thinks madds has set himself such an insanely high standard early on that we almost expect him to make worldly saves all the time especially recently when the defense has gone to sleep. Let me clarify by saying the players should still be targeting top spot is so that if they don’t achieve it won’t be for lack of trying and maybe they get 2nd so fair dues. However I just don’t think they should settle for 2nd just yet as they might not get that and end up then in the play offs. Just my weird logic 😅

Hull looked really fast and strong when they wanted to be (also fell over a lot to win free kicks) but yeh mavadidi and fatawu getting beat for pace was really alarming! we definately look tired and weak. Enzo way is still the way to go but faster with more urgency and intensity until we tire than we revert to a modified hybrid version with more directness. This is player based too. I’m no pro coach but I can see he needs to modify his tactics based on recent results. The data is all there to see clearly.

Fact of the matter is we’ve seen these types of decisions be awarded even with VAR in the prem. when I saw Hamza put his hand on the shoulder I absolutely feared the worst. Just the touch itself gave me shivers. So when the ref didn’t give it I was elated! We can still debate whether it was or wasn’t but with this ref I thought we were screwed at that point.
