  1. I would not be happy with Scott Parker. He scraped promotion with two sides who were way too good for the Championship, and then he got found out in the PL. He strikes me as a manager who tries to mask his blatant incompetence by blaming other people. We need a long-term manager. Take a gamble on somebody abroad. Under Parker, the best case scenario is that we would bounce back straightaway. That would be great *obviously* but we would be sat 20th by Christmas.
  2. Freak result, yes. But, it would have been insignificant had we got three against Everton. We only have ourselves to blame.
  3. We offered nothing going forward but I thought we defended well (albeit a bit lucky). In a weird way though, the away end almost felt a bit disappointed, the game-plan was so nearly executed. If Castagne nods that in, then Dean Smith is a footballing genius. I felt that the away end appreciated the fight. Objectively speaking, we probably needed more than a point. That said, if you take that performance in isolation, I was happy that they were prepared to put their bodies on the line and show some grit. Kudos to the fans that travelled tonight too. Not many, but felt that we generated a decent amount of noise, especially in the last half an hour.
  4. I just don’t see any possibility of Everton losing at home to Bournemouth.
  5. I think that we would have pushed 2000 had the club been more proactive. This was the perfect opportunity to lay on free travel, subsidised tickets, or, alternatively, just scrap their ridiculous ticket identification rule. It just frustrates me that the club put blatant obstacles in place, all to stop supporters going. It’s a farce. Surely when you consider the enormity of this game, then you would want as many fans as possible?
  6. Fair enough, but I don’t think it’s a bad turnout. I really can't blame people for not attending. We've been rubbish all season, it's a long way to travel, and you would probably have to take time off work. In a cost-of-living crisis, it's hardly surprising that most are giving it the swerve.
  7. I assume that you are going then?
  8. Yes, just head to the Newcastle United ticket office. It won’t be an issue and they’ll know what to do. I would say to go there as soon as possible, explain the situation, show your ID and they will print you one.
  9. Lucky, mine came ridiculously fast
  10. In all fairness I made about six or seven different assertions, I had to get one right.
  11. This came to my attention since a poster just reacted to it. Reckon somebody hacked me on the 21st July 2022 @mods can you check this, please
  12. I live in Newcastle and genuinely think I’m mental for going. Massive respect to anybody making the trip from Leicester, it’s a serious hike.
  13. Completely. I would welcome a new ownership tomorrow. I hate this argument of “be careful what you wish for.” It’s stupid, what we have now is utterly dreadful. Khun Top has destroyed his Dad’s legacy and I hope him and his family sell the club and come nowhere near us ever again. I would also welcome it on the basis that it would upset some of our idiotic fans. I’ve said this for ages (and been laughed at) but elements of our support back King Power over the club. It’s tragic. The club is far more important than a duty free conman.
  14. I agree that the media has a significant impact on people's opinions, and this can be seen in football. Rodgers was portrayed positively in the media, while Conte was vilified. Club journalists should hold managers accountable, even if it means risking losing interviews.
  15. I can’t wait for the club to implement ticket identification for Preston away on a Tuesday night.
  16. Begrudgingly I bought a ticket this afternoon. Only three blocks were open, so I am assuming that we haven’t shifted many. I really can’t blame people either, £31.50 it cost me! I am lucky as I don’t have to pay for travel or accommodation since I live within walking distance of the stadium. I am not shocked that loads haven’t mysteriously disappeared either, looks like the entitled bunch at the club shop aren’t up for it.
  17. Nah, I don’t understand it, it’s a losers mentality. The FA Cup allowed us to complete the set domestically, but it shouldn’t mean that you should sign out. The club as a whole should have been hungry to keep winning and it needs to be understood as to why people mentally signed out. Look at Man City under Guardiola. People call him a cheque book manager, great, but he keeps them hungry every season to push boundaries and keep winning silverware. Im not saying that I had an expectation for us to suddenly win every trophy under the sun. That’s different. I just wanted us to keep progressing (even if it was a slow process). The FA Cup and qualification for Europe (two years in a row!) provided us a perfect platform to do so. This regression is completely inexcusable - I hope Top sells the club and Rudkin et al clear off. We need a reset as a club.
  18. As players do not have any accountability. The problem is that very few of them will suffer any repercussions, we will go down and most will be fire sold in the summer. It's a sad state of affairs, but one that is completely our own doing. Look at players like Maddison and Tielemans. I like Youri, but he is a perfect example - we did not offer him a large contract when our stock was high and he will walkaway on a free in a couple of months time. It's the same with Maddison, he will leave for a low price due to his contract situation and he will remain a PL player. I don't care about his persona in the media, he is not fooling me, he does not care. Like any disaster, it is not driven by one factor though. I also think that for some unclear reason, the club downed tools after winning the FA Cup. On and off the pitch it has been a disaster since then, they got away with it last year because the memory was still fresh, but the warning signs were there. It genuinely felt that after we won the FA Cup, there was no incentive to keep progressing. It is what frustrates me. It should have been the opposite, it was a great opportunity to establish ourselves as a 'big' club and we messed it up.
  19. I voted Bournemouth at home. I have never walked away from the ground feeling so discouraged by a performance. We were absolutely pathetic. Maddison practically gifting them a goal and then us failing to create anything for sixty minutes. I recall the ground basically being empty going into added time as there was no belief that we were going to score. This poll is a sad reflection as to how bad this season has been. You could probably make a case for about six or seven from the above. Even for a side fighting for their lives, you simply should not have that many performances which lack any fight whatsoever. If you look back at the 14/15 season, we struggled, but very few times did I walk away and feel disillusioned by the performance. This season has been an utter disgrace.
  20. The first point might not leave him with any choice.
  21. Why did they have a planned day off when you consider our current predicament? I hope today’s training doesn’t even involve football, just get them running.
  22. I live about 20 minutes from St James’ Park and I’m not sure I want to go . Fair play to anybody who is crazy enough to make the trip up from Leicester.
  23. This is a flawed argument as nobody is claiming that he is perfect. It’s about comparing him to other CBs at the club (Faes, Souttar and Amartey). He does have a tendency to be bomb scare but literally every defender that we have at the club does, no? It’s about looking at the bigger picture, and for me, Soyuncu has attributes that the players listed do not, it’s pretty evident that he is our best defender. There is a reason why he will be on the plane to Madrid in the summer.
  24. He is the best defender at the club who has been mismanaged. If he had been playing since August, we would have more points, it’s as simple as that.
