  1. Yeh true re fifa. Just wonder when the tipping point comes when FIFA and uefa are making so much out of the club game that they sacrifice international football for more club matches. Surely not too far away if FIFA make a bucketload from the world club cup in 2025. I’m sure many fans look forward to internationals and I don’t think they’ll ever stop, but be treated like the cups, reserve team player tournaments
  2. You’d think eventually the money in European club competition will far outweigh the money in these pointless nation league tournaments, and clubs will be empowered to send reserve players to international duty. Likewise sending sh1t players to the World Cup and euros whilst the first team plays in the world club cup in Oman. Matter of time surely, even with a 48 team World Cup the $$ still don’t add up to taking international football seriously
  3. Given we’re prob all in the richest 0.001% of people that have ever lived, and how us westerners live these days, yes I’d agree it’s the root of all evil. Press a button and a child in China will make whatever plastic junk landfill product you desire, delivered to your door.
  4. Which visits
  5. Hangovers mainly sh1tty chemical ridden beer for me. Had 15-18 of the best Helles lager in the world in Munich during the euros and woke up the next day fresher than the day I was born
  6. The person that does the tactical analysis on this site is brilliant. Social media being used for good.
  7. Drink more water and don't mix as much. I am essentially hangover free from my 30s when I started consistently having tap water throughout a session and sticking to beer and whisky only. Having longer dos as well, could never afford all-dayers in my early 20s
  8. Would get in touch with this guy if you’re interested, world class at what they do and a decent bloke https://uk.linkedin.com/in/philip-scott-8b3bb1193
  9. Offering any odds?
  10. Yes true, I am being facetious. In better news, that comment garnered an emoji from Phil Bowman!! Got that warm glow back, like being hugged by a cup of piping hot cocoa >3
  11. Still no word from Kamala? Nothing to thank the thousands of campaigners who have worked tirelessly to advance her agenda or congratulating her opposition. Glad that she's the complete opposite of Trump and is taking defeat so graciously and in an adult-like manner.
  12. Christ.... can imagine you believed Boris when he said inflation was down to global factors. Poster writes that inflation factors in a country have nothing to do with the person running that country.... right after calling people stupid. Brilliant brilliant stuff.
  13. Exactly, hence my earlier posts. If you're telling me the world will end, I expect robust detail. If you don't have that, your viewpoint is statistically insignificant. I of course welcome all opinions, but presenting something as a fact with no backing, not so much
  14. But that's not how challenge works. If you express an extreme opinion and admonish, belittle, degrade, discredit and demean others for voting Trump, on a daily basis btw, expect to be challenged on it. Surely if you are telling people the world will end, you can't get defensive when someone asks you exactly how and why? Challenge happened many times on the covid thread and also to Tom G on the budget thread, despite him having years of experience in a small business!!!! You have actively made a decision to put yourself above the parapet and you are aiming to influence people, not me. My own position has been made clear throughout, I am base case on both candidates because Harris presented little to no detail on what she would do and I believe Trump is so dumb he will fulfil none of his pledges.
  15. The burden of proof is not on me in this case. I am not predicting Trump means the end of the world and I am not demeaning anyone for their democratic vote. As it stands and alongside my own work, the dearth of hard info from either side does not precipitate a material change in my impact assessment. That is mainly because I expect Trump to fulfil none of his pledges. As stated, you have developed an incredibly strong stance on a candidate, have been telling us the world will end and are belittling nearly 70m people for their vote. And it seems you have done little to back that up with publicly available info. If you have the inclination to do the above on a daily basis, I'd expect you'd have the inclination to do some simple calcs. As I keep asking, If I am wrong, pls let me know.
  16. Yep, you have no idea what the globally approved baseline of reporting metrics & targets is do you LOL.
  17. To gather a position as strong as yours, speak about it frequently online and try to convince people that you're right whilst demeaning others for voting for burger man, I'd expect at least some factual backing to it. And to gain that backing is extremely easy in the information age with all data publicly available. If we can put together a 100+ page deck on a climate impact for a private company with limited mgt info, you can easily gather substantive data to support your view that Harris is a messiah and Trump is evil. You see so many online talking about issues they simply don't know anything about. For example, I wouldn't dream of going into multiple threads on this site and telling people what to do whilst predicting the end of the world, because I don't have a clue. I expressed an opinion on UK uni's with a proviso that I could be wrong. I assumed you had at the minimum done a scenario analysis on Harris v Trump to back up such a strong stance. You have been on this thread saying on a daily basis that Trump will end the world with such fervour, expect to be asked for some support for that. It is ok to have a moderate stance and opinion btw.
  18. Point 1, metrics and targets against the global baseline to prove that point pls. There's plenty of publicly available data out there, which I guess you've gathered your viewpoint from? There's more than enough climate disinformation on this thread and alarmists telling people the world will end.
  19. Harris v Trump** Freudian slip. I've already deleted Orangeman out of my mind!!
  20. Maybe it's the accountant in me coming out, but with all the publicly available data out there, to have a position as fervent as yours, speak about it frequently on here and try and influence people to your way of thinking, I'd want some hard evidence to be convinced. The IPCC which you refer to and the IEA have some fantastic free scenario planning tools, you can easily map out the exact effect you think a Harris v Biden policy outlook will have. I think people will be a lot more easily convinced by you if you did that, rather than simply repeating the world will end if Trump comes in and the people who vote for him are bad. We've seen overnight that approach does not work
  21. But what are the consequences. In metrics and targets alongside the globally approved baseline of measurement. How will this affect progress to 2030. How will the next NDC submission change. What will be the change in the national climate impact assessment. Which new climate risks and opportunities will become apparent in the trump term and what is their basis of likelihood. Apologies to keep pushing this but you’re a cool guy and have a very strong position for Harris based mainly on climate. I can’t believe this position has come from empty rhetoric alone. Given the frequency of which you post on climate on this forum alone it’s a fair assumption on my part that you’re not a layman and know your onions.
  22. The ‘polls are misleading’ garbage is very dangerous. As you said, bookies have had his odds against for months now.
  23. And that cop out is where my main annoyance comes from. The Harris campaign did have power. They were responsible for policy and had all the data with regards the last four years. Why didn’t she make her pathway clear. So……..I’ll ask again…….. given she had all the power, knowledge and data, what convinced you that she will make a material difference to climate policy despite not setting out a verified position? Because that’s quite important given how strong your stance is. And what impact do you think trump will have?
  24. On warming? Resilience is more important than adaptation now. The various responsible parties have failed us for generations re climate, it’s too late now. Global Investment in climate risks and opportunities is growing YoY by ~20%. Still searching for any verified evidence, not rhetoric, that Harris will make any material difference to NDCs or global warming goals. Well it’s too late now, she failed to provide any
  25. What did you think Harris would do for warming against globally approved metrics and targets? All well and good saying she understands and supports climate change, but what effect do you actually think she would’ve had on USA NDCs up until 2030, and what do you think trump will do to the scores?
