  1. Yeh man. Also aside from the health aspects we've never had it this good ever. We have global opportunities to work and earn, you can work remotely from anywhere, you can launch and scale a venture with very little upfront capital, free tech solutions exist that can do tonnes of grunt work for us to help that scale and minimise on time and cost. Our options are almost unlimited. Listening to the 'only three days until Friday!!' and 'this country is finished mate ticket office shambles I'm moving mate honestly' crowd is now no longer annoying, it's pathetic and sad.
  2. All the above is very useful. Sauna then cold shower is my addition.
  3. All true, but you're forgetting the most important point IMO, which is the responsibility they have. Nothing in life really matters apart from health and education, that's a hell of a responsibility, of which office workers cannot empathise. I am an office worker btw. Again no offence to your average caricature of a pen-pushing mid-senior management admin parent working in an SME or FTSE 250 in regional England.
  4. 'To earn above the norm you have to either own the business or manage a lot of staff.' - True, but not representative of your argument where you are using low quality, low yield stock as a guide. Ie 2 up 2 downs in Leicestershire earning c.£500 a month in rent. Please quote evidence of £49k described as a 'low salary.' 'To use a what is clearly a business owner in London as an example of what all Agents earn is silly' - Incorrect, an field associate at a mid-market practice 'I also think confusing the fee and the paid commission is not reasonable.' - Try and spot where you are wrong by reading my original quote - if you manage 20 all-electric 1-bed flats at a fee of 13% at a market rate in zone 1-3 London of £1,600 pm, assuming you keep 25% of that fee, you earn £12.5k commission. I could be one of those online 'debunkers.' kenny - you've been DEBUNKED!!!!!!!!!
  5. Because a salary of £49k is a long way from wealthy in today's world. And you are talking about the lower average-bottom end of the market. I'll say it again, peddling 2 up 2 downs across Leicestershire is a long way from lucrative for anyone involved in that trade. For both yield and appreciation. Luckily we live a globalised world where a transferable job can be taken anywhere, and income can go up in the usual fashion.
  6. Are you talking about all estate agents? Or just that one in Sileby.
  7. Yep, that's how percentages work. Low rent = low percentage management fee = lower salary. As you said in a previous post, this goes up in the usual fashion and there are levels of ambitions to jobs, then associated increases in compensation based on that. No one is going to get rich peddling a 2 up 2 down in Leicestershire.
  8. Well the person in Leytonstone I've just spoken to does. I strongly suggest you do.
  9. If we're bringing variable pay elements into it then it's a whole different party. Estate agents earn their hay on commission, if you manage 20 all-electric 1-bed flats at a fee of 13% at a market rate in zone 1-3 London of £1,600 pm, assuming you keep 25% of that fee, you earn £12.5k commission. For absolutely no work. If you decide to do some work and sell a few houses. You earn stacks. This is on top of a quarterly bonus and probably a pension of 10%. Remember this is for completely unskilled and unqualified labour, so they should earn nowhere near what teachers do. Anyway, my original point being that the poster does happily pay his estate agent more than his kids' teacher, on an hourly pay basis.
  10. Sounds like you're talking about delivery drivers, who did go on strike on Valentine's Day this year. And Amazon warehouse workers, who also walked out for two days in Sutton Coldfield around the same time. Those workers should gain the right to unionise and we should respect them. But otherwise if Steve the finance transformations manager at a FTSE 250 went on strike, no one would notice and we wouldn't care, because his job does not matter to the world compared to a teacher. No offence to Steve I'm sure he's a good lad
  11. Teacher mate, obviously
  12. As the poster above says, neither do teachers.
  13. You’d hope people could read, understand and therefore wouldn’t be offended. £49k for doing a skilled job which requires a myriad of different soft and hard skills, qualifications and experience is absolute peanuts. These people are securing the future of your kids and you’re happy to pay your estate agent more 😂😂😂😂 Second paragraph. Didn’t say that.
  14. £49k is Jack sh*t. We pay grads c.£45k starting salary to produce some spreadsheets that will be checked numerous times up the chain before final production. NQ lawyers are starting on 6 figures at any reputable firm to do the same. £49k to look after your kids is contextually and objectively absolute peanuts LOL. If you’re an admin pen pusher you have no right to complain about people doing actual skilled labour. Imo ofc Im saying I can’t believe it’d cost £4 per pupil, unless you’re pushing fixed and already present variable costs onto the cost per pupil for this scheme. All with the disclaimer that I don’t run a school, so could be v wrong!
  15. Yeh that’s why I led with the outsource of care point. Don’t we pay TAs and teachers f all. Hence you get all the deluded admin working parents moaning when teachers, people doing a real skilled job, go on strike. Taking out staff costs, energy costs will surely be de minimis/already in place for an extra hour or if the school kitchen is already open for staff entry? Cost of materials (do you mean toys etc) isn’t variable?? Not adding up for me but I don’t run a school
  16. How would it cost £4 a day? Not disputing that but don’t we outsource the care of the kids we’ve solely decided to birth to people in return for low wages. Slice of toast and some cereal on top will be pennies. Rather kids get freebies than the O65s who’ve had it all already
  17. Yes true but what I do find refreshing and possibly distinct at Leicester is that it is very easy to get involved. Union f provide excellent comms, advice and opportunities to get involved. Just follow their Twitter page and you have no excuse. They appeared to be very welcoming and open to anyone on the boat at Fulham. Is it so easy at other clubs? A palace fan I worked with at my old job says the Nigel fanatics are a closed shop of Nigels. Granted, the opinion of only one Nigel and may not be representative.
  18. Without context don't know what conclusion we're drawing from this. The question was probably 'do you want to become a billionaire Mr Joshua.' How is he meant to answer in an industry where you earn proportionately to how much trash you talk. Also he's getting his head bashed in for a living, he deserves a few quid.
  19. Fulham of the Midlands LOLLLLL. Can't think of anything we have in common with Fulham, one of the richest boroughs in the country with the average match-goer wearing fitted Hermes shorts after getting their beard trimmed at Stuart Phillips. Arsenal is prob a fairer comparison. Generally quiet with very unoriginal songs. We STILL sing who came third in a two horse race to Spurs. I remember a post on here from a bloke who got bullied at school in the 1970s by Liverpool fans as his justification for singing feed the scousers!
  20. Then you’ve got nothing to worry about. If you’re so competent at driving, retest, pass with flying colours, and continue driving. Retesting at 70 is a perfectly reasonable suggestion.
  21. Bookies always win long term
  22. LOL thinking that Leicester will win a game of football, on an online Leicester forum, is an unpopular opinion?
  23. Anyone who was in 2016 part of and continues to willingly remain to be part of the uk democracy is culpable for brexit. No get out clauses allowed!
  24. Finger print entry would be class. Photocopy your finger print and use that for entry at the turnstiles. Much easier to share tickets
  25. Ah yes I now see your username, didn’t appear at first. Apologies for repeating!
