Paris will be no go if you’re trying to cut down on costs, it’s the olympics. Try the megabus to Lille

Totally agree, inequality in the uk is rising rapidly and nobody can really be arsed to do anything about it until we reach SE Asia/India levels of a tiny ruling HNW class, and a poor 99%. In the meantime, people to continue to fund their lifestyles on credit because they ‘deserve’ that gig, meal out, useless Xmas present etc etc. The rich renty class get richer. But going back to my original point. I think it’s a quirk of Britain that there’ll be plenty in the 40% class who think they’re so much smarter than reform voters. Dudes on £35k a year living in a two up two down suburban semi who’ve sat back and watched their lifestyle dwindle away for the last two years and still think they’re clever.

I’m in for a ton. 997 to go

This unbelievably perfectly proves my point

Pay our new grads more than that and the biggest decision they have to make in a day is whether to put a number in column AD or AE. Before it goes through 2 or 3 layers of review. Absurdly poor money. And then undoubtedly it’ll be the gobsh1te family or patient moaning about poor care. Get what you pay for
-
Agree with that but similar to my post above, how the hell did we get to that point? How do people get so entrenched. I’m reading this thread whilst face palming. People posting Twitter links to prove others wrong and designate them as stupid. Madness
-
Great shout on the last sentence. On the penultimate para, I’m interested in how it became impossible to argue them back the other way. Was it through being constantly demeaned by people you know are just as normal as you are? Dunno
-
Was the other topic the baby boomers? I agree with you. IMO we are all responsible for the rise of populist thinking, and if we don't like, we have to do something about it!!! You can't lose the argument and then tell the other side it's their fault you lost for being too stupid. Gives me Ben Chilwell celebrating being MoTM after a 3-1 defeat to Swansea type vibes. STFU, you lost the argument, change, now. I am anti-trump, brexit, Tory, reform as I suspect much of this thread is. Why can't we put our ego aside and admit not everyone is 'stupid' for going the populist way, and do something about it instead? Existentially, Britain is a really interesting country in that way. Only place in my mind where you'll have dudes living wholly unremarkable suburban public sector two up two down lives preaching to each other and calling each other stupid. In other countries it's usually big city professionals talking down to ruralites. No idea how this attitude has infected our country.

Just to make it clear 'they should though' is in relation to becoming rich working for the NHS. They should become rich working for the NHS, should be the highest standard of care, attracting the absolute best people across the world.

Thanks for that, good analysis, had no idea
-
Where did they make it clear? I’ve barely glanced at the manifestos, what’s the deal with what you mention above edit - noting the accusatory tone of this thread, my question is genuine! Not trying to honeytrap you into an answer. Actually interested.

The brexit vote of 2016 was a personality vote, no doubt about that. Plenty of people may have tried to reason but they did a terrible job, it was an overwhelmingly and materially an ‘us against them’ argument to the average man. If you were met with project fear arguments in 2016, meet them back with your grounded arguments? If enough people did this, it wouldn’t have turned into a reality contest. The arrogance of brits does not allow us to stick to grounded arguments. It will always turn to emotion and mudslinging. This thread is presumably a microcosm of many threads happening now. Reform = stupid. Arrogance and superiority complexes are at the heart of the average British personality, imo due to empire thinking. No one has thought that ‘none of it sinks in’ because you’re presenting a sh1t and weak argument?
-
There doesn’t need to be. 8 years on from brexit the British public are too arrogant to have learned anything from it. Your post inadvertently sums it up. If you’re on the fence about voting one way or the other, being called ‘stupid enough’ by another member of the 99% of the world to have achieved nothing remarkable in their life is only gonna entrench your view. People don’t like being preached to, they like being listened to, farage gives that illusion. Unfortunately the holier than thou nature and superiority complex is in the British persona, prob a legacy from when ‘we ruled the waves’

@MarshallForEngland before the internet pile on forces you out of here would be genuinely interested in why I suspect you’re going to vote reform, with no judgment in return
-
They should though. Teachers and medics are the most important people on the planet. It seems that any old mug with a BA from university of dover and left and right tattooed on the relevant hand can become a teacher now. Don’t want a drop in standards in medics, PAs are already starting to creep in. Just pay them properly

Hahah, apart from the huge, highlighted and capitalised INDEPENDENT in the leaflet, I'd assume everyone in his constituency will know he is an independent or must be an ostrich. Second paragraph also clearly states that he is an independent. Weird thing to get angry and sweary about

Group C: Slovenia, Denmark, Serbia, England

Yeh agreed, it defo doesn’t appear to be any better in other countries. I work quite closely with Italian colleagues, on Friday morning after the 1-0 Spain defeat they were saying the newspapers were stating the team are a national disgrace. What would they think of our last two performances against limited opposition! -
Hugh Jass, plays for PNE (pies normally eaten). Otherwise, my memory of that farmers market league was deleted on May 5
-
Ofc it’s not. The championship is a horrible standard of football which has just been witnessed by us all. We need to make significant improvements across the entire football operation if we are to compete this coming season.
-
Agreed. Ofc last season we started off by getting two late goals to win the match after having no pre season. But then we were playing in an amateur league so we were always going to be far fitter than the fat part timers we were up against. This season we are playing professional football. If we play like we did against cov, we will be spanked. Thorough work needed

Ok damn it. That’s me… plenty of moaning. Did pay it 😞
