The big clubs should simply give the lower league club money. Every year. Regardless of this competition fans and teams clearly don’t care about. Why are we relying on maybe a big team drawing a small team then maybe getting a draw then getting to play them again maybe. It’s ludicrous logic. There’s enough money in the game, spread it out. We can posture all we want about how much we care about the cup but we don’t. We were 4k off a full house for brum and that was with 5.5k away fans! And with general sale which apparently blocks untold hordes of city fans attending games

Exactly, we’re meant to be a liberal country with a conservative govt ffs. legalise everything and price it to infinity. If you are so stupid as to smoke Mary Jane for ‘medicinal purposes’ your money is better off in public hands your own

These left wing loons will be gone at the next election and a proper centrist like starmer and labour will be in, so I don’t think that’ll happen
-
Exactly, and an efficient pricing market should crop up for those of us born after 2009 to buy fags and charge a decent markup for those born after. That’s conservative

Proper headline grabbing nonsense policy. Price smoking and vaping to oblivion and let the market do its trick - I thought this was a conservative Govt!! This lot are more left-wing than Corbyn

Xabi Alonso and "managerial experience"
grobyfox1990 replied to Koke's topic in General Football and Sport
Not the same job at all though is it. Each club is so different and has so many different challenges. Also you cannot compare it to a technical job like a doctor. 'Manager' in every industry are not and certainly should not be technically better than the people they manage, that sounds like a complete waste of time and money. The people I 'manage' can do the job better than me. -
Will we get promoted this season (Poll)
grobyfox1990 replied to jim5000's topic in Leicester City Forum
Can you please get a poll started over whether people think it could go either way or not? -
No but would like too. Can you please report back on how you plan it and what deals you find. The China and Japan F1 races are back to back next year at cherry blossom time, would be interested in putting together a two-weeker across the two countries if costs and logistics allow.

Brilliant, you will love it! You seem like a cool guy. Don't fall into the middle class European way of doing the garden route and eating at safe space Italian/French restaurants. There are loads of non-hijacking activities to see and do.

Is this the royal we? We as in you and I? We as in all of us on this thread? This has confuddled me as much as the poster who quoted my post in the holiday thread and started talking about a cancelled trip to HK ‘we’ were taking. Good advice though

I think we are saying the same thing? Burnley did walk the league last season, I think they were 20 odd points clear of 3rd place. I do not believe Burnley are a decent football team, I think they are useless but put the 'at best' disclaimer in my first comment to be political with those people who still think the champo is full of big strong teams and difficult away games at intimidating venues. Which makes my point that this is a terrible quality league even more pertinent if they got 100+ points in it last season. Leeds, Ipswich and Soton are half rate football teams and will/would get spanked about in the PL. I do not believe anyone is dragging us down to the physically weak and technically unable level of this division, we are doing that to ourselves, which is why I am annoyed. A lot of potentials in your scenario above. Also the final league table may look closer than it is because the dominant team is chilling at the end of the season, ref Norwich and Fulham in 2021 and 2022 respectively.

🤔🧐 🤨 It’s a thinker mate that’s for sure

Agree with all of this apart from ‘the championship is like no other league.’ It’s really not, it’s terrible quality. There’s a couple of stand out teams and the rest is turgid. Burnley won it without breaking sweat last season and they are a decent football team at best. That’s what’s making me more annoyed about our current situation, it’s such a poor standard league

Fair enough. Maybe you hit the nail on the head. As there’s so many visitors on any weekend, they’re gonna be doing it properly by 11pm at Maddox, tramp, cuckoo, kings road clubs. Or raving in the west end. After wrapping up at a boozer during the day. I’ve never thought about it tbh, if I’m out past 11pm I’ve prob had enough of something like cittie of yorke by then

Very true. Other clubs do this. I remember seeing a Man City away European and cup final ticket release statement. It noted how many tickets would be made available to corporate, media, commercial and ex players.

Not true IMO, I've been loving the PL this season, never watched so much of it. There have been some all time classic games from those you wouldn't expect e.g., Wolves 3-4 Man Utd. I back Enzo's style overall, but not in this league where the opposition are so technically poor and physically weak. You should be committing a lot of men forward, moving the ball quickly, taking risks and overwhelming them as the game goes on. Even if we give up chances, as we have done throughout the season, teams are not good enough or fit enough to take them.

It's not our culture, late night drinking is not really a thing here. We open at 11am and close at 11pm. If you want European style, I'd be afraid we'd lose some of our own unique pub culture and bitters/ales and become a lager-led country of shiny glass holders. I much prefer our unique culture than the standard bland European operation of a main square, people smoking outside and rows of the same bar repeated. There are plenty of pubs in London open past 11pm, Gibneys, dover castle, Sea horse, big chill, blues bar being the best ones and O Neils Wardour st being the mentalist one

Ahhh ok, thanks. Had no idea. Once again I have fallen into the trap of believing online hyperbole over actual reality!!!

She lost out to the Business Development director of PariMatch and his list of potential clients.

Haha these tickets have not sold out to platinum members with 75 points or whatever the criteria is, they have been reserved for commercial purposes. The club aren't gonna put £43.45 tickets on sale to John , Glenda and their son Otis who make it to 10 or 11 home games a season paying their £80 a year membership fee, they will be kept aside for the big money partners of the club. We are potentially becoming champions here, of course the hospitality potential is massive.
