If you can get a company shop membership they sell them at 6 for a quid. Completely pot luck what they have, if any, but I've always been able to pick up peronis, heinekens, coronas, free damm, erdinger every time I've been, and they're all decent. Plus others I've not bothered trying.

Driven a few more cars through work recently. Last week i had a 2023 Jeep Compass - an absolutely atrocious car. Shit dashboard, horrible rattling and creaking, the window washers didn't work and it was horrific on mpg. Due to the washer issue, I had to get it swapped out. The company rent intermediate automatics (so suvs, estates usually), and I was swapped out to a manual Fiat 500. Ragged the absolute shit out of it. Again, what an awful car. I seriously do not understand why anyone would buy one. Kept ringing to get it swapped out again, eventually on my last day away I ended up getting an electric 2025 Ford Explorer. Never driven full electric before, was very enjoyable. Lovely car, and quite quick too. Wanted to keep it but it got dehired the next day. Still not sure i'm ready to switch to electric yet. This week I'm in a 2025 ford puma st. It's quite nice, but is a bit uncomfortable on bumpy roads, and makes a bit of a racket inside when bouncing along. Again probably wouldn't have one. Wonder what I'll get next. So far the only one I'd consider buying is the passat i had a few weeks ago, lovely car.

My garden has been obliterated by box caterpillars and I'm gutted. Only just found out about them today, thought the bushes had died from lack of water. Gone to have a close look and they're all covered in them. Ffs.

Ended up with a 25 plate Passat hybrid estate with 500 miles on it. Lovely car.

I'm in a temporary role at work where I travel the country to different sites, and am provided with a rental for the period I'm away. I'm using this as an opportunity to test new cars for when I replace mine. I've always bought old second hand cars for cash, so I've never driven such new cars before, it's quite nice and exciting to find out what I will have next. So far I had a 2024 toyota corolla hybrid estate for a few months, really nice car, quite quick and economical but it just looks too much like an uber. I dont think I've ever seen one that isn't a taxi and that is a bit off putting for some reason. I then spent a week in a citroen c4 and it was genuinely the worst car I've ever driven (and some of my personal cars have been rough!). 24 plate petrol, 8k miles, sounded like a rough diesel, the steering wheel wasn't straight when going forward, the heads up display was shite (I've never driven with one before and found it very distracting). It was very slow aswell, whilst absolutely drinking fuel. I pick up my next one on Monday and am hoping for something decent. So far in this period people have a Cupra, a volvo, a mini, a ford and there's a couple qashqais floating around. Hope i get something decent. Please not another bloody citroen.

Got tickets in Brum for Everything Everything's Get to Heaven 10yr album release anniversary tour. Will take any opportunity to see them live (except spending 70 quid+ to see them support The Wombats). Still fucjing hate brum and wish some of these gigs would come to Leicester. Think they are the only band I bother going to see live. Bought tickets to that kasabian homecoming thing last year and went home after EE finished.
