  1. I think this is spot on tbf 👌 whilst it's speculative I would wager alot of money that this is the mindset of the board.
  2. I can't believe there are still Cooper die hards. Insane. He was awful, one of the worst we've ever had. Outside of the board he is the main reason we are struggling, his "Premier league experience" signings have been awful. RVN has had no pre season, picking up and injury riddled side after a really poor transfer window and has had newcastle, Liverpool, villa and man city. The only real game he's properly at fault for was Wolves, I guess being kind he didn't really understand the damage having Ward would do to everyone on that pitch. But still I think even he was shocked about how bad that performance was and I think it's fair to say we have seen a big improvement in performance levels since, we've just had some rotten fixtures which even playing well was very unlikely to produce points. The risk with RVN was the lack of experience and I still think it's too early to be certain either way on how it will play out, and as I've mentioned before Top is rolling one hell of a risk letting RVN learn his trade in this kind of situation. Whilst I know the FA cup isnt the most important thing, we have 3 home games in row. I think these next 3 or so weeks will be season defining. Will we make some desperately needed signings and can RVN turn some positive signs into 6 points? I think if we end January with 0 points and 0 positive signings then I think its probably done.
  3. Not to say I agree with it, but you can understand Ayew away at villa, distrupts the game, wins the ball.and free kicks etc. If you are going for a turgid kill the game keep it 0-0 approach. However the inclusion of Luke Thomas is a shocker and you can't play for a 0-0 with that defense, I think our best form of defense atm is attack. I fear an absolute mauling on the cards here, but let's hope the performance against man city has given them so confidence.
  4. Nailed it. We are operating like an old school club from 20 years ago, much like football at this level has moved well beyond managers like Cooper, as has the whole infrastructure of how serious clubs are run now, they have proper professional football people in charge. And as we've seen if they aren't performing they get evaluated and they are out very quickly. Your absolutely bang average premier league team just has this installed, and we've just got chancers in serious roles who have no right to be here any more, thank you for what you did 10+ years ago but it's all moved on now. Everyone who was around our level stepped up their game and we have stood still trying to rehash things from a different era. I do think Top gets some harsh criticism, I don't think you can accuse him of not caring, but he is out of his depth surrounded by incompetent people who seem to have him convinced they know what they are doing despite a long list suggesting otherwise.
  5. Bare in mind he did well in his first game of the season after being injured, hes a really important player for the future imo, Mads is borderline world class and I accept that he could be our next big sale, I would be happy to give Stolarcyk the gloves and spend the money elsewhere.
  6. I'm still holding out hope we can sort it out & sneak it, there's a long way to go... but I do agree it's becoming harder, almost impossible for promoted teams, tradionally lower end teams like Bournemouth and Fulham have top international managers and are able to spend big money on well scouted continental players. What it takes to stay up now is becoming impossible to afford and attract, it's why the Cooper appointment made even less sense, the premier league has left managers like him behind, jury is still out on RVN but it's a hell of a risk
  7. I think this is what people are missing, RVN is new to management, he's had 1 season at PSV, he is learning about the team, the players etc as we go, he hasn't had a pre season to figure all this out. This was always the risk in appointing him that we have to accept, it's going to take time (time which I appreciate we don't really have) The wolves game was really poor and I'd like to think he learnt alot. But other than that we've had some terrible fixtures. I'm still very nervous the experiment will fail but it's too early to really judge him, he's inherited a team that he didn't build which was made from a combination of cooper cloggers and a couple of scouting team recruiters. Your last point on he could walk, was my main issue with him....he never really wanted to be a manager and I am not 100% convinced he is absolutely desperate for it. Anyway, I still think we have enough to stay up as annoying as this week has been, there's still time. We just need to find a little 10 game we are hardly cut adrift like Southampton.
  8. Relegation 6 pointer, must win 😅 Honestly though, on current form there's more of a chance than usual, if we can build on that first half display, why not? We have to start fighting and believing a bit more, we got a little bit of it tonight, show us some more!
  9. For everything he does bring, his obsession with winning the free kick rather than releasing the pass is very frustrating!
  10. I dont want to be too negative as we've been much better tonight than recent games. But Justin and VK, letting players like Gakpo and Salah cut inside onto their favourite foot to shoot, just can't be happening at this level.
  11. Played really well, BEK, winks and soumare have been competitive in the midfield, something we've lacked the last few weeks. Whilst it was a great finish, you can't let Gakpo in on his right foot there and not close it down. But overall can't be disappointed, it's liverpool after all and we are having moments.
  12. A really tough one to take today. I didn't really mind us losing badly to Newcastle, they are a great team especially at home and we just aren't close to that level. Whilst I was openly firmly Cooper out which I think was the correct decision, I was on the fence with RVN, we simply didn't have the evidence to really know either way, the one thing we all agreed on was it's a risk and up until today there have been reasonable positives to be excited out mixed in with some very similar negatives to cooper. Today, however was an absolute disgrace from all involved, I know it's been done to death on Ward, but he quite simply should not be playing professional football at any level, it's quite simple. I don't normally condone booing players during a game, I've even had arguments with people in the stands about it, but with Ward it's different he has been milking us for years and imo was probably the biggest reason we got relegated outside of rodgers checking out. There's alot of bad blood there and even if you think he is a capable keeper, there's just too much history there, any proper club would have had him booted out the door last year when enzo made it clear he was no where near up to standard even for the championship. But we are a soft touch, which optimises Top, he's a lovely person, but so soft and that is so symptomatic of how we operate as a club, how nice we've been to players, huge contracts, contract renewals when they didn't deserve it, allowing players to run them down instead of saying "are you in or out?" On to RVN, today is the first time I've been really worried, it was a slightly dodgy team selection and ward dug him in to a hole, but the reaction from the players and the changes were just so poor. I think we have to remember he's "new" to management and can absolutely turn this around, but it feels like an it's an open experiment that needs time, something we don't have about would be better suited in the championship. Is it over for us? Absolutely not, if RVN can be self reflective and learn from his mistakes in a way cooper could not, then there's still time. But if he goes dogmatic and keeps making poor selections then it's only going one way and tbh we will fully deserve it. Cooper set things in motion and we are asking a novice with minimal experience to turn this around in the hardest league in the world. Sorry for the long post, it's just thoroughly depressing today, when you cant even get up for such an important game against a relegstion rival who themselves were pretty bad, its never a good sign. I've always felt we had enough if we could get the right man in to sort it out. I think today is the first time I'm accepting we might be cooked and it's just a bit rubbish.
  13. Devastating to see Ward starting a premier league game for us in 2024. Complete an utter madness, could lose this game on his own for us, just have to hope he manages to just have a 1 in a 100 game. It's not just about how technically bad he is, but he cant organise or make the defense feel safe. Other than that, I'd start Buonanotte over Ayew, but there isn't much else RVN could do give the options.
  14. It's a must win otherwise you are having to look for points in unrealistic games later on. These are the games that define whether we do stay up or go down.
  15. I'm not convinced there was much he could of done today to get a positive result tbh. Hamza and skipp are just not close to being good enough at this level. Plus Newcastle are a great side especially at home. The positive will hopefully be Ruud has seen some of them for what they are first hand, some will be in for a horrendous week of training and others like Hamza will just never be considered ever again.
  16. It's honestly beyond staggering how he's not only still here, but is seen as the number 2. I honestly don't think you could give him away to a league two side.
  17. Some perspective will be needed here, Newcastle away is a very tough game, especially with Hamza starting, as much as I like him, he's never been close to prem quality. Just strap in and hope for the best, we have alot of players out in the centre of midfield
  18. I've already made peace that is a short term fling, he's either rubbish (which doesn't look it so far) or he keeps us up and we build from there, given his stature in the game he will be at the top of the "big" teams hit list
  19. Thought they were much better than us, but understandably so, they are a top side. But that's the old leicester that I loved under big nige, never gave up, kept going to the end despite the quality gap. Another game we comfortably lose under cooper. Fair play to Ruud. Jamie Vardy nothing else left to say, the best there ever will be for us. Massive point.
  20. Just need a bit more quality going forward. No disgrace losing to Brighton given the limited options we have especially with no Buonanotte. Think we can turn it around still though
  21. On loan from Brighton so cant play
  22. I would wager a lot of money that he was quite instrumental. From what I've heard alot of players were annoyed with cooper from a footballing perspective for quite a while and the negative defeatest set up against chelsea finally broke the players and Vardy just rang Top after the game.
  23. It's just so good to have a proper manager in, there will of course be tough days ahead but just having a manager in place who can see what is going on, understand it and adapt to it, instead of just watching it play out and then only changing it when we the game is almost out of sight. I know there are a few on here who firmly believe Cooper was unfortunate because he had a terrible squad, but I hope they can now see what alot of us were saying, whilst I don't disagree it's not exactly the best team we've ever had especially at the back, just look at what can be done with a real manager in charge in 2 days. It was never about Cooper being ex forest, it was just his obvious failings as a manager, yes the squad is poor but that should be even more reason to get a proper manager in to give them a chance!
  24. This will be very tough, obviously would love and hope for a win. Difficult to see it given how good they are, but I'm confident we will at least have a go.
  25. Gone from a PE teacher to a proper manager and it couldn't be more noticeable.
