  1. There really is zero evidence we have a succession plan for anyone, less still to look abroad. Enzo, Puel and Rainieri all had established English connections. If we'd have had Jesse March, he also fell into that camp. The chances of us ever identifying - and appointing - a talent like Bournemouth did are just south of zero.
  2. Well, he stopped an almost certain goal yesterday in the second half. I'm not convinced Ricky would be better if I'm honest. But it does seem spiteful that he's not even been given a run to test that out. At worst it's very close between JJ and Ricky. At best, Ricky could offer us much much more.
  3. Ashley Young has gotta be right at the top of his list plus Milner and Craig Dawson for good measure
  4. He's a finisher,.pure and simple. Would make the ball stick, He'd time waste, he'd win free kicks. He'd be a nuisance. To start him is a joke.
  5. This is a manager who thought BdcR was better than Stephy. Same manager thinks Ward is better than Iversen. He thinks Coady is better than Vesty. And Soumare is better than McAteer. Same manager hasnt played Ricardo for a single second.
  6. He shouldn't be playing. He wasn't even a regular starter in the relegation season, wasnt first choice last season and now, at 38, he's starting.. I think Cooper is in awe of his rep. Vards should be on the bench and used as impact sub
  7. Ward over a professional keeper in Iversen. That alone is gross misconduct. Soumare ahead of McAteer. Almost as bad. Also instant dismissal. BdcR over Stephy. Third and final written warning level at least. Subs at Palace, leaving a beleaguered Ayew and Vards on far too long. Dropping Skipp today. Totally baffling. Inexplicable. Alienating Vesty and Ricky. Weirdly, despite that I kinda like.Cooper but the charge sheet is far too long. He isnt at our level.
  8. It's extremely worrying that a professional coach couldn't see what even the thickest of our supporters knew - that Stephy is one of,.if not the, best player. BdCR FFS first two games. A scandal.
  9. Well, if like to see @StriderHiryu stats. I thought his work rate, his duels, the ground he covered and his progressive runs were borderline insane. He did, of course, muck up four times when getting into a good position. That's the rub, I'm afraid. If he could do that too, he wouldn't be playing for us. I love the guy to bits.
  10. Vesty done then. It's a joke tbh. The world's worst professional keeper still keeping a half decent championship keeper off the bench. McAteer behind BcDr. One of last week's best players in bench.
  11. FFS. Thought Skipp was excellent last week. Ayew needs to drop to bench and be used in the later phases
  12. Interesting. Hopefully ahead of Ayew
  13. 100%. It helps that 200k residents in Derby all head there for shopping and entertainment and nightlife. So.much for being rivals. Derby boosts Nottingham's reach from 600k to approaching a million. I think the TV stations did it. It's amazing what that does for an economy. And Central / BBC setting up there was the same time as them winning European cups and enjoying a ridiculously high profile. That swung the city upwards. Prior to that, the cities were pretty much the same.
  14. I ain't digging you out specifically, but comments like these bother me. One, from a football perspective. Wilf's a intelligent football brain on him. His runs inside the winger. His intercepts. Dinked crosses to the back post. Even his goals (saints away last season) .... I CBA to list all the examples. Long arms and legs doesn't necessarily mean bad player. Second, the guy studied at uni whilst being a full time professional athlete at the very highest of PL levels. I suspect Wilf is quite ok having to 'think'
  15. As you said in another post, we need a bit of luck. And any grandeur we have, is lost / separated from the city. Imagine if De Mont was close to the centre, including the gardens out the front. Imagine if St Margaret's church was the cathedral, and not isolated by two dual carriageways. Or if New Walk Museum was at the bottom of New Walk instead of half way. All three would vastly have proved the city's civic pride
  16. I lean towards the thought that the hotels etc are the Trojan Horse for us to fund the stadium. Find some Asian pension fund that takes the bait and buys bonds in the whole scheme
  17. I dunno how anyone here with a straight face say they go to that filth. I wouldn't go if the hanging gardens of Babylon were there plus a guaranteed shag (with at least a 7/10) at the end
  18. It means if we go down, we don't have any parachute money now. KP are just compulsive gamblers. Period. They max out and leverage everything they own (and everything they don't own too)
  19. I'm half a century old. My entire life stoke have been shite. Can you imagine that? Clinging on to our world cup winner pretending it was theirs. When they eventually went up against us and we went down, they were no better. 0-0 on their biggest day and you'd have been pushed to know who was going up and who down. Even when in the PL they were shite, relying almost totally on a rory delap throw in for 7 years or so.
  20. I've thought that the Apollo (opposite curve) could host a genuine regular high end cabaret. They've dabbled at it. But few and far between. But some seriously priced tables to host, say, Adele a la Las Vegas ....in Leicester. Build it and they will come!
  21. I take a neutral view. The stories coming out about Edwards since indicate quite an appalling character, aside from his conviction. Just think it'll be an interesting case study to see if a public figure CAN get some kind of redemption and restart a new life. Abroad? As a podcaster? Charity worker? ....or do you just hunker down for 30 years, watch telly and eat takeaways?
  22. I think the formation unsettled Villa too. They never really found any rhythm. For me it's an asset. It's the inclusion of Ayew that's more negative than Wilf. Ayew is tricky, disruptive and hard af. But let's use that nous late in games Vesty gotta be on bench. He can be used to either defend a game (as a deep lying pivot sat in front of centre halves and push up Skipp, winks) or as an attacking sub to bring more creative passing from the back if we are chasing. Manager gotta be big enough to use Ricardo on the hour if we are chasing the game.
  23. Unpopular opinion here but that midfield three, Skipp/Winks pivot and Wilf advanced is our biggest asset. It's aggressive, front foot defending and establishes us in the game ...plus Skipp and Winks can receive the ball in tight spots. Ayew needs to be demoted to the bench and his streetwise style esed as a game finisher. That's where we add some creative flourish, either Abdul or at 20 odd million, you'd think the Belgian lad.
  24. I was quite surprised that his pre sentencing report suggested he had a 'medium' chance of reoffending. You'd think any normal person who'd somehow got sucked into a rabbit hole would be so burned, so ashamed, so sorry there'd be a zero chance if reoffending However, that all said, as a first time offender most people have a right to the benefit of doubt and to be thrown a chance. I DO happen to think the social isolation he'll have for the rest of his life should be factored in to his sentencing. If and how he rebuilds himself will be kinda interesting. Rolf and Stuart Hall were ancient and don't really have long to suffer the public wrath. Edwards has a good 30 years in all probability. It'll be interesting to see if, where and how he can rebuild.
  25. But that was probably the roadblock to total co-operation, that many people didn't consider sniffles and headache as a 'global threat'. Agree. I think if the global threat was ebola or bubonic plague, then we'd see.much greater cooperation and much greater public compliance. I for one would gladly slef isolate for that l.
