Might do the same. Lump a juicy 500 on. If we end up top 2, it'll be 500 well spent. Basically just doubling my season ticket. Worth every penny. **** it up, a tasty 3.5k compo. Edit, I did the same prior to Burnley away in the last promotion campaign. Worth every penny.

Really don't get this. I'm football obsessed. It's the main convo with my kids too. But I'd never expect my kids to treat players as role models, as demi gods. Anyone basing their life choices on a random footballer unknown to them is crackers.

If I was looking at this from afar, a wobble a team at the top is absolutely normal. I'd be reassuring the hypothetical nervous fan of said club that, they'll stumble into a win soon, create a mini run and they'll be away. Oddly enough, I'd almost go as far to say that a wobble on GW -13 to -9 is quite a good thing and leaves plenty of time to pull out of the tailspin. Hitting the buffers 6 games out is much more catastrophic

Same ref who fluffed the penalty at Ipswich. Jeez. -
But did we? Results were magnificent but there was always an element of built on sand about many games. Unlike the Mucky Adams and NP promotions. We ended many wins very shakily, Brum away. Millwall home. West Brom away. Watford away. Even Rotherham had three good chances in the last 10. Sunderland hone and away. Going back, wins at Swansea and Blackburn both came after near catastrophic gaffes at 2-1 but we ended with flattering scorelines. Huddersfield and Rotherham away early doors both came out of unexpected late goals. The only games where I felt we had total, absolute control were games where the oppo had virtually given up; Cardiff away. Stoke home and away. Watford at home.

Budget for starters.

Not writing him.off. But it is unacceptable to fail with promotion with the hand he was dealt.. It'd be the equivalent of Man City finishing fifth and in the Europa. Totally unacceptable.
-
Agree. But it was designed to do so
-
Fwiw, I think we'll go up! But my (many) points are we've made awful heavy weather of a division with a squad that was largely designed for a top 10 PL campaign
-
I'm.noy anti Enzo per se. And there may well be long term benefits of the system, as evidenced at Bournemouth. But, I've had this nagging feeling from the that a much more pragmatic conventional 4231, with full backs bombing forward, would have blown this division away. Mads JJ and VK as full backs Vesty, Coady, Faes, Big H (pick any 2) Ricky Wilf Winks and KDH Kels and Vards ....Rotation and tactical changes for game changing pace and and legs with Mavididi, Fatawa, Hamza, Daka We'd literally destroy teams

Great post
-
How many players did Hull have today who've played multiple times at the top.level?
-
Start of the season Neil Warnock joked that his scout told him Leicester hadn't got one team capable of promotion, but 2! Allowing a bit of poetic licence for lack of balance, he ain't far off; Stolarcyk/ Iversen Doyle Coady, Souttar, VK Praet & Hamza & McAteer, Kels & Daka & Cannon
-
Based in the fact they've all played well, in bits and pieces, in the PL. Or Ligue 1. Or Serie A. Played at World Cups. Played in the Europa league. How many championsio teams have got 15 players who done that? Lemme phrase this another way. You think Mark Robins would take his squad over ours? The Norwich manager (whoever that is)Even Daniel Farke, if he had carte blanche, would choose our squad over his.
-
Exactly this
-
You're being overly dramatic. Regardless of personal opinions on players, including mine, take Dennis Praet (who pisses me.off) . Maybe 75 PL appearances, goals and assist at the PL level, 100 serie A games. International and Europa league experience. And he's nowhere near good enough for our team. Championship clubs simply don't have players with that kinda CV,.let alone ones we can afford to leave out. Ask Mark Robins, Liam Rosensior or the Cardiff manager if they'd like Praet in their squad. They'd snap your hand off Or, if you don't like the Praet analogy, how about asking Robins if he'd like 38m quid to spend and a wage budget of 60m?
-
JJ, Faes, Choudhury, Ricardo, Vesty, Souttar, Kristensen, Iversen, Coady, Winks, Kels, Daka, Vards, Praet, Wilf Add to that he was allowed to bring in 38m worth of players to beef the above squad up (Inc Fatawu) on Hermansen, Mavidi, Fatawu and Cannon And decent.manager has to finish in the top2 with all that going for him
-
He's been given 15 or so premier league players and the biggest budget ever at this level (by a mile) to play at a level below and finish in the top two. I'm not having a pop at him. But it's a stark reality that literally any normal manager should be able to win promotion when dealt a hand like that.
-
Agree. Why's he being dug out? That winger couldn't get any change out of him. And, when under pressure sometimes he cleared his lines or safely put the ball into touch rather than taking unnecessary risk. Faes, who I love to bits, is a liability in these tight games. Bemused why. Kels is persona non grata. What a weapon on the bench. Only we could leave a proven PL goalscorer out of the squad altogether. Thought Vards was sharp and even his lay offs (often a weak point)!were en point
-
And as a bit of a soothing reassurance for everyone, we absurdly went temporarily top with about 4 games left when Pompey were by far the best team all season and we were runaway second best. (Tho third place Sheffield utd were 25 points behind us both)
-
All and any points are good ones at this stage of season. That could be the point that sends us up.

The two Penalties evened themselves out. But for me Vards' second half was clear, PL defo a pen -
No it wasn't. We are just about edging it against a pretty decent and motivated opposition. Faes tho having a shocker Vards chip, header, Yunus blasting over, KDH hitting post. That's a decent half
-
Almost not bothered about our game now. The buzz was fantastic seeing that rubbish being dealt a taste of their own junk
-
Surely our players are gonna get a buzz offa that
