  1. I think Ipswich are the reason we will go up. They went like one win in 8 and the are still on the hunt. If we have a bit of a bad spell - most unlikely to be as bad as one in 8 - the moment we pull out of it we'll motor away to the PL
  2. Deflection, perchance?
  3. I posted a very similar thing last year, same age. It hasn't really got much better. Strange thing is, even if I packed out my life doing stuff, travelling, hobbies blah blah, I'd still feel more or less the same. But before that sounds too defeatist, I'm slowly coming round to it, The hunt for the perfect fulfilling life is never ending, exhausting and futile.. Ive never achieved much of note which gnaws at me, but nor do 99.9% of people. . Our age is maybe adding that layer to being sanguine about it all.
  4. Was thinking the same. The amount of very ordinary birds at my work - still.in their 20s, let alone 50s - and without professional make up, lighting and photography yet still manage to look hot af on their LinkedIn. I dread to think what Brady looks.like up close.
  5. Very upsetting. There are three incidents (all on the same holiday!) where I ballsed up with my son (a car park, a lake and a 4th floor hotel window) and it sickens me now that I got away with it through pure luck. The poor poor family
  6. I agree, but but, robotically sticking to a system can be a huge help under pressure. Rather than adrenaline taking over the decision making. You pays yer money, you takes yer choice Tbh, I'm comforted how we bossed Ipswich away and I thought Cov away was a masterclass in dealing with a high pressure game (until sending off) ,.letting them swing and miss whereas we slipped through the gears two or three times and elegantly swept through them Also,.Leeds at home never ever deserved to be a defeat. It was a 0-0 all over, but they got a lucky break
  7. I remember Vestergaard getting the blame v Huddersfield early season...6ft 6 and can't jump! I watched the reply at the time and the ball was at least double his height. So blamed for not leaping 7ft. And nobody mentioned Doyle who was marking the goalscorer.
  8. No way. I think our players will fancy it. Like they did first half against Ipswich where we totally dominated the first half. I watched half of Leeds game yesterday and if you'd said dressed them in west Brom shirts and called them west Brom, you'd just think they were useful and dangerous...but nothing else Edit. And Cov. We ride our luck a bit first half but ultimately everything was going to plan til Fatawu
  9. Lots do that. The club need to cut that out. For once, I'd be happy with the club trotting out some 'elfun-safedeh' reason for the screens to be turned off
  10. Agreed. We possibly couldn't even have afforded that though as we'd have to pay Soumare's wages again. I read he took a massive cut to go to Sevilla
  11. Interesting. I too thought Carrick won the tactical battle and it was evident from very early on. Be interesting to see @StriderHiryu analysis I saw Praet debating with the other midfielders after two mins who he needed to press. Whatever boro had done, it was unexpected and our press triggers were thrown. For the next five winks, KDH and praet were all pointing to each other who and when to press until they got the hang. Boro took every free kick and throw in super quick for those fist 30 mins They played long balls into channels to turn our high line repeatedly They load in a couple of heavy tackles early to unsettle us They bunched up on Mavididi, sometimes triple marked, not just double. I was mystified by his hook. Was hardly his fault
  12. Thanks matey. Personally I think man for man we are better..and this comment sounds a bit bizarre, but our system holds us back in games where we need to just fight. And we might need that (and needed it yesterday) But, the system has got us to where we are by brushing aside poor teams with absolutely minimal effort. So, you pays your money you takes your choice.. I do wonder though if your more basic system might be undone on Friday. If we ride the storm, we could take you apart on the break.
  13. I have actually asked this to someone I know who insists on leaving on 89, regardless of situation There isn't a satisfactory answer. And I'm gonna guess most people are the same. It's vague along the lines of 'i wanna get home' and 'i dont wanna be sat for half an hour in traffic' ....but I pushed as for the 'why'....as in why are you so against sitting in traffic. What do you need to be at home for. And the answer isn't forthcoming. Basically there isn't a reason.
  14. If there's one thing our style does, it sucks the life out of the home crowd. We are far better away than at home as a result. I thought the opening 45 mins away at similarly high octane Ipswich, Cov crowds were masterclasses. Obviously the second 45s didn't go to plan.
  15. Nothing to do with today's result, but I haven't been completely comfortable all season. As absurd as it sounds, we've never quite looked like a team who built such a formidable points tally. I think it's because our 5 defeats have been evenly spread....we haven't done a 25 game run, instead spellls.of 7 or 8 games.. So we have always been 5 games away from or 5 games towards a defeat I have the anxiety as if we were 5 points ahead, not 9. The teams in second third and fourth ordinarily never perform to the levels they are this year. So the 9 isn't as unassailable as it ordinarily would be. The thing I cling to is that although I can see us ****ing up to one of those chasers, but 2? Especially when they might take points off each other (and we can take points off them too)....som2 x teams to overtak us is pushing it
  16. Fatawu and Stephy were off. Daka anonymous. Poor KDH couldn't put a foot right (I think trying too hard) ...Faes was dodgy by his standards. Yunus was dreadful. Even Mads looked a bit hesitant today. Yet Dennis gets called out after putting in a decent 7/10 performance
  17. Lol, I've just replied to the JJ thread and said there what I'll say below. Thought Dennis was really busy today, put in a real shift and two great crosses
  18. Eh? I thought he was excellent overall.
  19. Thought Middlesbrough were outstanding. They liked pumped from the off to challenge themselves individually and all of them committed to their tactical plan.
  20. It's worth keeping shining a light on this absurd policy. It's all just so mean spirited and lacking in business logic. Totally understand there ARE certain games that would need to be members only or booking history only....due to high demand or security; Man U. Forest, Cov. Liverpool etc But any other game, what's the issue?
  21. Every single match should be on general sale, three days before the match. If it's sold out prior, it's sold out. Just keep some consistency, so punters are braced and briefed to look for tickets at a certain time point. If there is one single unsold ticket for any game and it hasn't gone to general sale, it's an absolute crime.
  22. Had we had Wilf instead of a woeful Casadei, we'd have drawn at the very least. Next week we are likely to play a competent midfielder in Wilf's position
  23. I have no issue in insisting he resumes his career with us, whether he likes it or not. The PSR mean it could be a game changer in the way the Bisman ruling was gears ago. A new era of clubs having to work with players, whether either party like it or not.
  24. Well, I do agree on that...., but equally had each game been 2 mins less, we'd be 4 points better off!
