Which he wouldn't sign. Two year deal is the compromise and he might accept, allowing him one more contract perhaps at 34 somewhere in Europe. My gut feel is he'll end on a high and choose to move on for a three year deal in Europe. Always leave them wanting more. Footnote; he's my player of the season - even ahead of Winks and KDH. His performance levels - passing and defensive - his leadership qualities and his general swagger have all been top notch. I think he's great.

Soumaré - Sevilla currently - They have no cash

Not quite the same. The players we send back are garbage, Tete and Under and almost certainly Yunus. The players Torino etc send back have done well and they want to keep them but don't want to pay. Tyre kickers personified. -
I think a double deflection with the last kick of the game at Portman Road (and a stonewall penalty missed for us which would've killed the game - us having successfully ridden a bit of an Ipswich rally) and a late equaliser at the KP (having been outclassed for 70 minutes) also adds fuel to the lucky fire.

Pleased that there are in the race for second. Just keeps their concentration offa us and the pressure heaped on each other. Potentially third (even fourth!) place could get around 99-101 points. What a sickener that'd be!

League One & Two - 2023-2024 Season

Derby beginning to assert some strength. Pity. I was enjoying them being an absolute irrelevance, particularly as their fans seemed unaware of it. Most kids under 18 (and outside of Derby) wouldn't know they were any different in traditional size & profile to Crewe or Stevenage -
For those of a certain age, David Coleman's '1-0!' or Brian Moore's 'Och!' is the commentary standard.

All about nerve now matey at this stage. Big advantage in your favour is Farke knowing how to do this. And players know that. In our favour, the players have a system to fall back into. Muscle memory. They know it works and can stick to the plan. I was leaning towards saints up until two weeks ago but my money would be on you now
-
Pressure does funny things to teams. Leeds have had a few weeks of chasing and will now become the chased. Southampton vice versa. I always think those scenarios favour the chaser and the pressure piles on those in the driving seat. Which makes our nerve all the more remarkable this season. It takes guts to stay.so focussed

They play each other though!

I don't think it's being a whipping boy. He seems a nice lad, willing and plenty to like about him....but he's in the brutal (but highly paid) world of elite sport and as such, his performances are subject to analysis. If we changed his profession and said he was a tennis player, or track athlete, the analysis would be just as stark - you are ranked by performance in tennis matches or by your times in, say, the 800m. it is what it is.

Blimey. That's out of the blue. I wonder as a workaholic and married to his show, it's one of those that he lost his raison d'etre

That garb don't do her any favours. Looks a.size 14 on that, which is wn absolute no no

The people who stay will hopefully boo those who leave. Let the players and manager know there is a core of support, maybe 16000 or so, that actually wants to support, in the truest sense of the word. These people take part. They are involved. There's 10000 or so, who want to spectate. Footballing cucks. Voyeurs. Those who wanna be involved, get involved.

What a disgusting player he was. Porteaus - out of his depth. By contrast, Watford had player in midfield - Kone - who I thought was very good, first half at least. @Super_horns is he decent every week? Nothing on him but very strong and mobile. So rare this season we've seen a player and thought, ok, he's a problem,

While I agree that JJs pace isn't Kyle walker level, I disagree he's been beaten by wingers. I can count on one hand how many times he's been skinned (in fact, I think only once I can remember a sub came on for someone like Brum and he got done) ...today was a good example, there was a play first half a winger feigned to cross three or four times (did well) but couldn't get the extra room to make the cross as JJ matched each twist/turn. Defensively JJ is absolutely sound
-
That looks highly realistic. However, I still worry we might be the team to break the points record yet Leeds and Saints get 108!
-
He's tidy. He's physically stronger (I'm not talking injuries)..The ball sticks with him. He makes useful moves into space. He's quietly miles more effective than Yunus, who just took slow and weak for this level of football
-
UFS and others (Inc me) need to ramp up the excellent heckling v Sheff Weds that they delivered last game. These weak, lily livered fools need shaming. They aren't supporters. They are spectators. Massive difference.

I can't remember detail, but I can 100% remember pleading for JJs pace and his 1-on-1 defensive skills at the time.. I also remember at Huddersfield him being caught flat footed for a header (but Vesty got the blame on here, as he was still persona non grata at the time) and chickened a tackle at Southampton that led to them scoring. I think he may have been involved in a poor defensive display at Blackburn too. I've been harsh on him on here. But it's because he's a loanee. I don't like our team suffering for someone else's gain. If he was ours, I think he'd have a very steady future, thought the lack of pace probs means he'll always need players picked around him to compensate

99.9% of the crowd still there watching the red filth on 92 mins. We'd be down to 17000- 18000

Ipswich over for us. They aren't any good anyway, just work hard. But they ae as relevant as West Brom now Saints and Leeds will go all the way and I'm starting to believe three teams could pass 100 points. As an absolute emergency, the fact they play each other last day could be our saviour as it guarantees a last day dropping of points (unless they both are 3 points ahead of us and need only a draw 😂) Pretty sure one of them will crack under the pressure though, seeing as neither til now can shake the other off
-
We've played with a handbrake on on sooo many games this season, Casadei and McAteer (who in fairness got us a vital win at Rotherham and a great goal at saints) must've started a good 18 of the 31 games. Would be nice to go full on all 11 best players, assuming Vesty is back. Praet was very decent today.
-
Keep banging on, but I don't see it with him. He's miles off the other players' level
-
Win today and they are an irrelevance to us.
