Thought Middlesbrough were outstanding. They liked pumped from the off to challenge themselves individually and all of them committed to their tactical plan.

It's worth keeping shining a light on this absurd policy. It's all just so mean spirited and lacking in business logic. Totally understand there ARE certain games that would need to be members only or booking history only....due to high demand or security; Man U. Forest, Cov. Liverpool etc But any other game, what's the issue?

Every single match should be on general sale, three days before the match. If it's sold out prior, it's sold out. Just keep some consistency, so punters are braced and briefed to look for tickets at a certain time point. If there is one single unsold ticket for any game and it hasn't gone to general sale, it's an absolute crime.

Which he wouldn't sign. Two year deal is the compromise and he might accept, allowing him one more contract perhaps at 34 somewhere in Europe. My gut feel is he'll end on a high and choose to move on for a three year deal in Europe. Always leave them wanting more. Footnote; he's my player of the season - even ahead of Winks and KDH. His performance levels - passing and defensive - his leadership qualities and his general swagger have all been top notch. I think he's great.

I think a double deflection with the last kick of the game at Portman Road (and a stonewall penalty missed for us which would've killed the game - us having successfully ridden a bit of an Ipswich rally) and a late equaliser at the KP (having been outclassed for 70 minutes) also adds fuel to the lucky fire.

Pressure does funny things to teams. Leeds have had a few weeks of chasing and will now become the chased. Southampton vice versa. I always think those scenarios favour the chaser and the pressure piles on those in the driving seat. Which makes our nerve all the more remarkable this season. It takes guts to stay.so focussed

I don't think it's being a whipping boy. He seems a nice lad, willing and plenty to like about him....but he's in the brutal (but highly paid) world of elite sport and as such, his performances are subject to analysis. If we changed his profession and said he was a tennis player, or track athlete, the analysis would be just as stark - you are ranked by performance in tennis matches or by your times in, say, the 800m. it is what it is.

While I agree that JJs pace isn't Kyle walker level, I disagree he's been beaten by wingers. I can count on one hand how many times he's been skinned (in fact, I think only once I can remember a sub came on for someone like Brum and he got done) ...today was a good example, there was a play first half a winger feigned to cross three or four times (did well) but couldn't get the extra room to make the cross as JJ matched each twist/turn. Defensively JJ is absolutely sound
