  1. Not many!
  2. Barnes along with Madders are our last two diamonds that would fetch big money if they left. I’ve said it before on here, the hardest thing to do in football is take the ball past someone and make things happen. You can’t do it every time every game or every week. What a shame we got rid of Demari Gray so easily, he needed an arm round his shoulder ( like all wingers) and be told he was having a run of ten games, he would’ve thrived. Albrighton interestingly is one of those wingers who doesn’t have to beat his man, just half a yard and it’s in with quality, and guess what, putting a right footer on the right whipping balls in and we will see the resurgence of a certain starved Mr Vardy! Who knew you could have a right foot and play on the right!
  3. Whilst I agree with most of what you’ve said , the season’s not finished surely. If you’ve been following the club longer than these halcyon last ten years then a mid table finish with two good cup runs is an average but acceptable season. The cups have yet to come round, and, as we’ve recently shown are winnable given lucky draws. It’s purely the poor play that’s the worry and that set in before the cup win. Rodgers out!
  4. Because he’d get these overpaid popinjays fit and organised, whilst weeding out the Beckford like posers!
  5. The hardest thing in football is to pick up the ball and get past your opponent. He needs to be encouraged to continually face his fullback and take him on. Brendan sadly deems keeping possession more important. On the same subject Demari Gray is looking good, who did he play for? He needed, like all wingers an arm round him and an assurance of a ten game run at least and he’d have been a match winner for us. What a waste!
  6. Funniest down to earth after match comment from Micky Adams.” I’m trying to tell Lilian what fluke means in French” We could do with some more humour like that from managers to bring some of these overpaid popinjays down a peg or two!
  7. David Nish, great local talent, class England full back and the youngest captain of an FA cup finalist at the time, not sure if that record still holds from 1969 where, as a 10 year old I cried all the way home! A Man City fan put his arm round me and said, never mind son they’ll be another year, didn’t think it would be 52 of them though!!
  8. I’ve said for a long time watching Leicester is like watching England. Is it British/ FA coaching? Ponderous possession for possession’s sake. Neither full backs willing to run and commit, little skill factor. Did you notice balls dropped from a height they pulled down dead often, including the goal, Kane and Sterling 20 yards bounce off! Their second touch is a tackle! Southgate and Rodgers out!
  9. He seems cock sure of himself.
  10. Senseless passing for passing’s sake football. The goal Daka scored at Brighton from a long ball over the top would’ve broke Brendan’s heart!
  11. Wow looks like the Mirror has actually been nosing round the club or City and has a feel for the reality. Unlike some ex player pundits who reason from afar!
  12. Yes neither of them could trap a bag of cement!
  13. When you’re as poor as we were yesterday everyone who’s not playing becomes a good player strangely. But Marc should be in the side. After yesterday’s debacle him, Praet, and dare I say it for his ability to go long with a diag, even Vesty maybe. Yes that’s how bad it’s got, because if we don’t defend with a low block against Villa we will be crucified.
  14. Surely when you play 3 centre halves and a DM the fullbacks should have a free rein? The centre halves should be mobile or the DM should have the ability to sweep round an cover left or right? For those old enough to remember O’Neill’s teams had wingers as wing backs not full backs. Guppy and Impey never got their shorts dirty, just got a foot in now and then. Good sides come down here and their fullbacks start on the halfway line and say mark me I’m not marking you! Ours are expected to defend first and then get up 80 yards and attack we haven’t got a wing back in the club currently so let’s have them defend as a four and load more quality further up the pitch.
  15. Absolutely spot on, our fullbacks now receive the ball more facing our pivot, ( the centre halves) than midfield or forward. Does anyone remember Chilly going backwards ( literally)? Goes to Chelsea and looks more dangerous than their wingers! It’s the obsession with keeping the ball at all costs but teams now let us have it then pick us off. Rodgers out! Let’s not have ten passes when sometimes one will do.
  16. Yes to to Nigel and Shakey and Martin O’Neill ( mainly as it was Scotland), but never an ex player, when they’re gone they’re nobody to me.
  17. Has anyone thought that, heaven forbid a right footer may actually play on the right and be comfortable hitting the near post for Vardy’s countless runs rather than cutting in and being blocked out? Our full backs crossing is abysmal so let’s have a right winger with a right foot ffs.
  18. Yes, unfortunate but you don’t miss chances because you’re too old, you just don’t get there. Jamie’s problem is that he’s been so starved of service he’s snatching at the rare chances he gets. Yesterday was better though chances wise so hopefully Rodgers will leave the handbrake off now.
  19. Then it’s preferable to have English league battle hardened than untested foreign talent surely?
  20. I agree in Rodger’s system they’ve got to be quick and obviously Bennett and Vesty aren’t, but there’s rugged and pacey centre halves in the lower leagues used to the pace and physicality of English football who’d be less of a risk than another foreign unknown. Of course if we went down another route and changed Rodgers a new system could suit what we’ve already got. We won the league by ten points with two centre halves who couldn’t run! And what an exciting brand of football we played.
  21. All these names! And not a British one amongst them. What’s wrong with the Cloughie adage “ your a centre half son, your job is to head it and kick it, anything else is a bonus!” The Championship’s full of them for god sake. You can see how centre halves trying to play has got us. They are now our pivot! Too far back! If we’d had a header and kicker we’d still be in Europe!
  22. Leeds, drive, pace, energy, enthusiasm. Everything the Leeds fans want, all and everything we want too , whatever the results. Two clubs with working class fan base at their roots. No room for posers and fancy dans thanks. Lets face it, if Brendan was made of chocolate he’d eat his sen’!, the club is now mirroring the manager. ( not, and never has been “a Leicester manager”).
  23. The lack of shots on target or for that matter off it is reminiscent of Sven’s awful reign. Nigel took over and immediately the fans were oohing and aahing! He’s got to go and I’d like us back to basics. Nigel or Dyche in charge, and back to finding our own stars from the Championship. No more delusions of grandeur!
  24. Another foreign flop. We need to pick out the cream of the championship which , pace wise is akin to the premier league and bring on our own stars. The talent is there if you look for it but we seem to be more keen on lesser leagues abroad for scouting.
  25. I appreciate that Barnes is public enemy no1 on here at the minute, whilst Lookman who hasn’t stayed on his feet all game, ( what studs has he got in?) has hardly been mentioned. All our wide players have been shocking full backs too.
