  1. Sometimes I like to do my parkrun on Sundays. I always win.
  2. Bunching is an absolute PITA. I'm not a "good" runner but I'm regularly in the top third of different runs. My local course starts with a wide path but then goes to a very narrow one, up some very uneven surface. You can get people who overestimate their ability and end up jogging to start, where I've done a warm up run and am ready to go. I'd also ask them to reconsider allowing runners with dogs and prams. Even if they just let them go first or last.
  3. If we go on to miss out on promotion, we really will be a laughing stock. I'm not quite sure who gets the blame but a manager's key requirements are motivating and ensuring consistent standards/ KPIs are met. Enzos KPIs are good, consistent results (injuries and context allowing) on the pitch and promotion. Not every player has to be 10/10 but him and his staff need to have principles and methods drilled into the squad that ensure consistency throughout the season. Sometimes you need to change your approach. I often meet with my own team to see where things are flagging and we change our approach, if needed.
  4. I'll aim to squeeze in a couple over the next few weeks. I did 4.5 miles in 50 mins on treadmill last night without really tiring, just as a kind of ease back into it. Mostly been 5ks of late.
  5. I'm considering signing up for a half in May. I've done one before but thinking I've left it too late to get in race shape. Personal stuff and bereavement have got in the way last few months. Thoughts?
  6. Well if we can't afford the £100 billion to fund it, maybe spend £50 billion now to at least do SOMETHING. Or you know...take the £100 billion from HS2. If it's a choice between a train and clean water, it's an easy choice.
  7. Absolute disgrace and Thames Water shareholders want to raise prices
  8. I wonder if that's how we readdress some of the financial imbalance. Any top 6 team pays a 20% levy on all purchases/ sales to other Prem teams.
  9. I will be gutted to see KDH go so early into his career with us. I'd have liked a couple more seasons out of him.
  10. I mean, if he's suddenly become half the player we hoped then sure
  11. A friend works in law, specifically for some big (ish) companies and failure of product is factored in. His is mostly white goods but a lot of the time they do cursory checks of a customer before paying out. They don't bother to fight it because there's an element of "they can't all be good".
  12. Christ. Whoever chartered that ship must be bricking the inevitable litigation coming their way.
  13. https://wheelofnames.com/ Use that link, make your own and show all your friends
  14. They fell down some stairs. Not out of a window, though.
  15. That would possibly be quite a bad outcome for a LOT of people. Look how there's fingers pointed at Ukraine on this. Then add in Putin's death. The ideal outcome is probably people getting tired of him and ousting/ retiring him. He doesn't need to be a martyr.
  16. Very good point. Top just isn't ready to take this all on. Has he been given the running of KP as well?
  17. Had to do an easy 5k today. For some reason my ankle and calf have been playing up. Bit gutted as I've wanted to put more into it of late but c'est la vie.
  18. Yeah the PR team all need firing into the sun. Other than the royal weirdos, nobody was that bothered. Now she's had to reveal this. Shocking. Coming up on 8 years since I lost my mate to cancer at the ripe old age of 28.
  19. Spurs actually seem reasonably well run
  20. I've had it from salty Spurs fans. It is absolutely right and fair to state our situation caused the rules to be brought in. But the ITV Digital deal helped no one and was a massive headache. It's fine. I'll just look in the trophy cabinet.
  21. Just seen that report about women's prison suicides. There was a woman in prison for £250 of credit card fraud and another woman in for assaulting a police officer who was trying to prevent her from committing suicide. These don't sound like the sorts of people who should be locked up - they need serious help.
  22. Tbf it is the A Level Politics coursework submission deadline soon
  23. One thing to really take into account with those kinds of things is the data is massively skewed by top, top levels. I have a weights ability "guide" and it says something like a novice 1rep max weighted squat is 90kg. That's 15kg over my actual weight. I can do it but I wouldn't say there's anything "novice" about being able to do some of these exercises. I always go with the idea that anything under 30 mins for a 5k is good and anything under 26 mins is really good. Try not to get too hung up on ability. The important thing is that you're doing well for you. I'm a few years older and started running again at 32. I'm regularly under 28 mins on 5k but I also know I'll soon be hitting the point where my body starts fighting back.
  24. What's a pay rise?
  25. Of all the people to pipe up, he shouldn't be one of them. I don't care if it's the "best league in the world". It's fans that make it and that's what attracted the money. I'd support Leicester whether it had Messi or Mick the part time plumber up front.
