  1. I work with teenagers so takes a lot to upset me!
  2. Re read what I said - I don't see this, or any conflict, ending until you remove the people that don't want others to just get on with their lives. To reiterate - vast majority of people would be happy to turn up to work, have enough to live on, raise a family and die somewhere between 70-85. Sadly, there are too many people in the world who don't want them to have that.
  3. I think many are overlooking the importance of a decent coach. Look at Brendan and how things got continually worse. Right coach and right players is an absolute must. Chelsea - some of the top young stars in the world but languishing 10th. Fulham been a yo to club for years but get the right coach and they look capable. If Enzo has a year to instill a style and values, that is worth a lot. Even bloody Forest stayed up last year because Cooper got a tune out of them.
  4. Wednesday owner showing some balls to rattle the tin cup at fans
  5. Quite a stretch there. Just saying people adapt to the land and are pretty resilient. Humans live in different environments all over the planet and most just want to be left alone.
  6. Fundamentally, I just want to see innocent people able to just crack on with their lives in peace. Most will adapt to wherever they live. Unfortunately, there's lots and lots of people who don't want this to happen. That could be down to greed, ideology or they're just w@nkers. Sadly, I don't see a way that this ends unless you remove those people.
  7. I've a loose connection to QPR. It seems losing Beale was a real rock to the club last season, though their form was dipping before he left. I know fans who hated him for going. It really is crazy just how they've dropped.
  8. Wow. I still remember the day and the time after. Can imagine the Sunderland fans will be respectful.
  9. Should win this no problems but I can imagine, with rest in mind, we could accept a draw here with no injuries then go for the kill at QPR.
  10. How's the weather in Wales? Any chance this gets called off?
  11. Excellent reference. I have the great pleasure of working within sport and his dissertation was very well received. He was bang on - part of the product that broadcasters sell IS the atmosphere. Most of our grounds, the fans are right by the action and that isn't something many other countries replicate. Fans are part of the product being sold and should be treated to better prices, to improve the saleability of that asset. The very fact that broadcasters piped in crowd noise over covid proves Kompany's theory correct.
  12. That is ridiculous play from Turkiye all around but bloody hell what a goal
  13. I think the summer attempt was a failure. Afcon is a good tournament but I'm amazed they don't try and line it up with the european breaks in March.
  14. Stuck it on for an hour last night. Will see what the Octopus app tells me. They also gave me £87 gas credit. Will ring them because that feels...off.
  15. Down to 74kg ish now (or 164lbs/ 11 stone 10). I'd hovered at 76kg for a while but since using calorie counters and, crucially, trying to make sure I get enough protein (powder, eggs, yogurt, meat) has made me drop that 2kg in the last 6 weeks or so of doing it. This has been coupled with more gym and less running, focusing on major muscle areas - back, legs, chest. Goal is to be under 11 stone 7 by Christmas. Can say that focusing on the food intake and more muscle building has had an accelerated difference on my shape than pure running.
  16. Ran my radiators yesterday and pushed the PSI just to check them. All good. Might get a cradle for the coal fire.
  17. That's fair. If a manager came in to Wednesday or Rotherham and got them up to the play offs, or even top 10, you'd say manager of the year would go to them.
  18. Eurgh. I didn't want to believe it. The blokes that have done this...how their wives, children and parents can look at them.
  19. In a way, I sort of feel for the rest of the league. We're occupying a spot that we really shouldn't. The squad we have is too good for this league and would beat 3-4 of the top flight.
  20. What an absolute ridiculous decision
  21. I'd be careful picking "sides" in this. It's important to remember that a number of innocent people have been killed, brutally and some absolutely despicable things have happened to either the dead or the living.
  22. Did a mostly flat 10k, though there were big puddles and mud to avoid (as well as a cheeky slowdown for photos) 58 min 30! To think my first 10k last year was 10 minutes slower.
  23. Given what happened to that poor girl in Rotheley and the news of these 3 men in Westcotes, I wouldn't say comments like that are particularly called for.
  24. Perhaps it's not about completely getting rid of cars but if we could reduce car use by even 25%, surely that's a target to aim for? I'm not the biggest fan of driving and have a real aversion to traffic. I'd much prefer to be on a train than in a car, in those circumstances. I find it incredibly frustrating that the last 8 times I've actually wanted to use the train, I've only been able to twice - due to strikes or cancellations.
  25. Hadn't spotted Soumare but doubt he features for us again. Daka and Souttar are a real shame. Feels like a waste.
