Lump on now, it'll soften the blow when the inevitable happens.

Noticed Shilts was in the crowd yesterday. Penny for his thoughts on our current keeper. Even at 73 I'd put him between the sticks ahead of Ward

As a born and bread lifelong Leicester fan I cannot not care, much as I'd like to say i don't, but having accepted that the board will not act to remove Rodgers I am close to acknowledging that we will be relegated. The one crumb of comfort for me is that I really would rather watch us play in the Championship without Rodgers than continue in the Premier League with him!
-
Fun while ir lasted. Memories will last a lifetime but the mistake in not sacking Rodgers will lead to relegation. Totally self-inflicted. Inexcusable!
-
Yes, Nacho in particular had an off day but our strikers have maintained a high strike rate relative to chances created this season. Unfortunately this is likely to be unsustainable as we found out on Saturday. So for me it's more about the game plan the coach sets out. Clearly the game plan employed was not to pepper their keeper with shots! You can blame the players all you want but for me the fault lies with the coach. Had we been more positive and created more goalscoring opportunities we would have been more likely to hit the target and therefore win the game. Rodgers' consistently employs negative tactics and I fear that will be our undoing as the spectre of relegation looms ever larger.
-
I certainly wouldn't want different owners but Top needs to appoint someone who knows how to run a top flight football club and, most importantly, curtail the power and influence of Rodgers.
-
No shots on target against the worst shot stopper in the League. Great gameplan Brendan!

Based on the quality we have in our squad most people would, even now, still make the assumption that we'll survive. The Bookies, fans of other teams and many of our own fans will continue to believe this. Unfortunately, I and most others on here have a real fear that the club, players and especially Rodgers are not equipped to win a fight. Had we really rolled our sleeves up and fought tooth and nail on Saturday Southampton would have capitulated. We would have moved up to 12th in the table and Southampton would have been all but relegated. When the chips are down history shows that Rodgers almost invariably comes up short. He will not change his approach and if we are still 'fighting' for survival with 2 or 3 games to play we will be relegated.

"...a game full of endeavour, commitment and desire..." This was how one of the commentators summed up the Forest Everton game. All of these are crucial qualities we lack as our team has been fashioned in the image of our souless manager. This is why we will go down if the club persists with Rodgers.
-
Just watching the Forest Everton game. Both teams are extremely poor and with the exception of Johnson and either keeper none of them would get into our starting eleven. Yet both teams will probably finish above us. Why? Because despite their glaring lack of quality both teams are showing the kind of fight and spirit that we, under Rodgers, don't possess. Both managers are animated and totally committed on the touchline and the players and fans are responding. Both teams are aware that they are in a relegation battle and are fully committed to the fight. While Rodgers remains in charge with his notebook and pathetic clapping we have no channce of generating the level of intensity required to avoid the drop!
-
Anyone! Even having no one in charge would be better than having this clown in charge. He is taking us down!
-
This. We are capitualting to the worst team in the league!
-
Don't worry lads. Rodgers making a note in his little notebook!
-
Were the Villa and Spurs games another false dawn? Clearly Rodgers is going nowhere so Madders is our only hope for survival. If he gets injured this clown will take us down. He may not be the worst manager we've ever had, as we've certainly had a few duds since I first started supporting City in the early 60s, but I've never despised any of them as much as I do this charlatan! He is sucking the life out of our club!

I appreciate your positivity but fear it might be a little misplaced. Identifying one specific stat doesn't necessarily tell the full story of his contributions going forward. Goals, goal involvements and his ability to progress the play when taking possession in tight areas also speak to his creative, offensive impact. The club's ability to replace him will be far from easy and will further highlight his value to the team.
-
Maddison's availabilty now becomes even more critical as Tielemans is the other near 50% of our creativity going forward.
-
We had some serious momentum going into the game against Man U and only poor finishing and some miraculous goalkeeping prevented it continuing at Old Trafford. Rodgers then lost his bottle and reverted to type. He impsoes his negativity on the team. Confidence going into the game against Southampton will now be low. It's a huge 6 pointer and if he tries to set us up not to lose we almost ceratinly will. I'm with the vast majority on here and have wanted him out for the best part of two seasons now, but i'm afraid Top doesn't have the bottle to get rid. Our xG today is in itself a sackable offence! If we survive this season it'll be in spite of this fraud.
-
We played with real attacking intent for two-and-a-half games which yeilded 6 points then we reverted to type. The Rodgers' blueprint is to set the team up not to lose and invariably we do, particularly when we have a keeper who consistently fails to make the 'big' saves (unlike Kasper most notably in the FA Cup final which we would not have won had Ward been between the sticks). The great escape wasn't achieved by negative tactics. Rodgers' tactical cowardice will continue to cost us as it has him throughout his career (most notably when Liverpool blew it down the stretch). Unfortunately, given our current league position this time we might pay an even bigger price than failing to finish fourth twice and failing to maximize our opportunities in Europe.

Playing for a point. I'd take that result but it won't be a fun watch. -
My anger with 'that' today reached beyond boiling point. Yes Barnes missed a sitter, yes Faes makes rash decisions, yes Ward is distinctly average and yes Rodgers has often been the object of my ire, but today all my anger is directed towards the rotten carcass which is the Premier League! Real football fans up and down the country are being taken for fools!

Man Utd vs LCFC - 19/02/2023 - Match Thread

Better team by far but the keepers are the difference - one is world class the other distinctly average. Ref certainly providing huge assists but Barnes has to bury that early chance. He has developed a habit of missing absolute sitters that have a huge impact on the outcome. The Forest game comes to mind!
