  1. I live in London and have always been surrounded by Arsenal and Spurs fans and without doubt, Arsenal are the weirdest. Getting into a chat with one on football is always amazing, especially when some say Monreal is the best back in the league but the media are so anti-Arsenal his performances do not get big write ups. Another said to me Naitland-Niles is worth about 70m in todays market. Honestly when they talk they have no logic the absolute ends of a bell. Anyway, back to Hamza. This dude has the makings of a real icon. Ive nicknamed him the Bangladeshi Valderamma. I think this lad has it all. That performance yesterday after not kicking a football for us in months was sensational. One minute he was on the lett wing and the next right back. It was like the old two Kante line.If Hamza gets more time in the first team (please god dont loan him out next season) and a proper run playing alongside Ndidi, I think we will be on a winner. All of a sudden our "weak squad" looks stronger in offensive positions if the likes of Barnes and Gray are non-starters. His presence also allows our offensive midfielders to play further forward and I saw him drop into the back line a lot when our full-backs bombed on. Personally I would be starting the bloke because he really is the real deal and will get better with more games.
  2. Its subjects like the Barnes one which makes me please we got BR in early. Barnes to me will be sensational. He hasnt the same confidence as at WBA but we can see whats happened to them as soon as he left (arguably cost their manager his job as well as he was that important) and we have seen glimpses of his ability for us. Rodgers can work on him and also its essential he is involved in pre-season as he is probably questioning his own ability having gone from golden boy at WBA who scored wonder goals every week to shanking shots from 8 yards for us. He will come good Im almost certain of that but he needs that continued one on one coaching.
  3. I felt sorry for him yesterday. A few times Madders, Tilelemans and others had the ball but he was hardly ever if ever passed the ball and the ball went the other way. He is young and IMO I still think there is something there. Im not into loaning the older players like Silva, King, Slimani etc, Id rather punt them out. However players of the age like Nacho can go somewhere and improve enough to come back with either added value or to challenge for a first team spot. Send him somewhere like Germany!
  4. The majority of young players suffer losses of form, especially ones who have made it into the prem for the first time after stepping up a league. Im glad to see he is becoming a bit of a dead ball specialist and adding goals and has found his form, no doubt the feel good factor of having a manager that can communicate with him helps. Keep it going Madders!!
  5. I just cant him being with us at the start of the season. This is a wonderkid who signed for Monaco for 25m Euros less than two years ago and he apparently turned down bigger clubs for first team football guarantees. He has gone on to be a starter for Belgium and in a short space of time in England he has all the attributes that are lacking in many modern central midfielders, vision for a pass and a goal. Unfortunately for us we are doing the donkey work for the top 6. Virtually everyone of the top 6 has some ropey central midfielder players playing for them and some have cost a fortune and failed. Fred, Kovacic, Jorginho, Keita have all come in to the big 6 and largely failed and some average players occupy the midfield of most of them from earlier season signings. All players bought at a new club in a new country can be gambles and I would never have thought that Kovacic or Keita in particular would struggle but they have and Tielemans has flown. We have lined him up for others IMO.
  6. He is obviously a talented manager having nearly won the prem and achieved great success at Celtic albeit in a pants league. Its not new news that he can get the best out of players and having a clear and obvious style of play which is more offensive that defensive. However, its very early days and at times our lot have shown this potential before Tielemans arrived and its obvious he seems to have been the missing link and improved us. The feel good factor of having an approaching hands on "loving" manager has had a major effect also but before we start talking like we have cracked it, I`d like to see these performances over a longer period. So far its 10/10, lets hope he can keep it going!
  7. Its not all about the Head of Recruitment. We have changed them a few times in recent years but each time we find more good players (and some bargains) than turkeys. Its a team thing and anyone with a brain wont be coming in to strip down the systems that are in place but to add to them. Im not sure how up to date this is but here is a glimpse of the team.. https://www.lcfc.com/teams/staff/performance-recruitment
  8. Tielemans was the best player for us and Vardy next. I feel so sorry for Vardy who makes 100 runs and hardly ever gets the right ball. When it comes he scores more often that not. Ndidi did most of the dirty work again and he nicked the ball so many times. I feel for him without another defensive midfielder and I would love to see him with Hamza in the middle and Tielemans slightly more advanced. A lot of our side looked ponderous and heavy legged. I cant believe how out of puff they were so early!
  9. I think their fan base will lose it completely if we raided there club for players. Id only take one player and thats there little superkid Karamoko Dembele.
  10. This looks like being yet another season where Spurs finish below Arsenal despite being in a title chase. They are without doubt the biggest bottle jobs in the Premier League.
  11. We are blessed to have a club that seems organised from top to bottom these days, a far cry from yesteryear when I used to cheer on the lads in the 80s. Whether its the clubs merchandise, the website, the recruitment drive, owners, facilities, plans etc, we are blessed with all these things. Rudkin is one that must take credit for part of this structure and part of the success. Im not so sure why he gets so much grief around here but we have a large fanbase and its only natural that whoever we talk about will have a share of negativity. The bloke deserves a bit of respect on the Brendan Rodgers situation. I saw an interview where Neil Lennon said he had a call from Rudkin regarding Lennon coming in on a temporary basis so he thought Brendan may not want to leave with Celtic fighting for honours so had a contingency plan. He moved quickly and its an amazing bit of work for Rudkin and the club to get such a high calibre manager mid-season.
  12. With the players we have we should be 7th with one eye on those above. As we know better than anyone, those "big clubs" who end up in 4th to 6th place start to panic and you always get under-performing top 6 sides who can slip out of the aforementioned positions. With that, a man with a plan and a couple of additions whilst the old guard continue to be replaced and we could be a serious side. Im like a scratched record on this but we have so many players that would get into top 6 clubs and thats why individually people can see we have some high quality players. They need to play to a plan and play as a team and we could be anything. Aim high!
  13. He too was outstanding today. For a player of his inexperience and age to know when to time his runs and make a pass it great to see. We all saw how he did at WBA so we know he can score goals and finishing is one of his better skills. I feel he has a lack of belief to be a prem player as its all happened so quickly for him and he snatches at his chances or doesn't seem as direct as he can be. I think in the next few weeks when he settles he will be finishing these chances. The good news is he gets in unreal positions all the time and has that magical knack. No offense to the likes of Gray and Albrighton who I rate but neither get into them positive positions like our Harvey.
  14. He was outstanding today and was the same last time out. He had a blip of form but now he is back to his best which is great to see. He was a monster today. Keep it up Wilf!!!
  15. If Hamzas charging back challenge against Liverpool the other day was a thing of beauty, Kelechis flick on header was comedy gold. He is talented but also lazy, out of form and lacking confidence. He left the best team in England to get regular football with us and the reality he was never gonna get it here, not with Vardy around. Maybe we should loan him out if we can get someone else in that will give us options.
  16. Mendy played alright IMO. Barnes was MOM and the defence worked well again. Today was really a case of missed chances and one mistake. That doesnt equate to such low ratings but we have a weird fanbase sometimes.
  17. Garry Brooke brian marwood
  18. Love Hamza. I remember when he was a kid and everyone said he had a real quality lad coming through who had a fantastic pass in him. We havent seen much of that but I reckon once he gets a proper run in the team and gets confident enough to express himself I think we could have a real all round midfielder.

  20. ...and he plays in a position that requires energy. As a player with an eye for a goal and not the paciest even at his best, getting older and slower wont help a player like him. If the fee quoted is accurate I too was delighted,
  21. I've suffered from depression a few times over the years and the things that got me to finally click out of it have always been the same things. Listening to music (FFS not Morrisey though!!) as that always takes me to happy times whether its holidays or other nights out. Exercise is always a good one. Smashing the life out of a punch bag for some reason helps me gain focus and just generally trying to laugh by surrounding myself with good people. The latter of the the three aforementioned things is always the last thing to happen but a bot of exercise and listening to music somehow takes me out of the bloody hypnosis that is depression. To anyone reading and suffering, dont think you are some saddo thats the only one who suffers. I have a great missus, a son through an ex, businesses, own my own home and my health. I should have no reason to feel down but it happens to all sorts of us at some stage. I once got a bottle of vodka and put it in a bag and got on a train heading for what I told the missus was a work related conference. What I did though was sit in the park 50 miles from home where I looked around trying to find the point that was to be the stage of my demise. I found a high rise building and thought I wont get out of that alive if I jumped off. I started drinking the vodka and convinced myself by the minute that this was the only option (back in the day I was gambling a lot) but thankfully I decided against the leap of death as I thought about how my family would react (it was before I had a son). I managed to get through it but have told no one about it in the real world. I somehow got through it but I do know a lot of people dont have that moment and actually proceed. Keep the faith people as life is for living and enjoying. Since having a not give a shite attitude a lot of what I wanted from life has happened. I still have small bouts of depression despite having a good life but not at the level of yesteryear thank god. I pray for anyone feeling low but keep believing.
  22. I think Evans is currently our best centre back. As much as I love Wes, watching him at times this season reminds me of watching Mike Tyson when he was coming out fighting against Danny Williams and Kevin McBride. Two fighters he would have knocked out in his peak within a minute but got beat by both. I felt sorry for the legend that is Tyson back then and yesterdays performance when Wes looked like he couldnt jump for a cross he was defending or running in the wind was really hard to see. Its now at the point where I feel sorry for the bloke. I know he is our skipper and I know Soyuncu hasnt worked out as planned but for the love of god, give him a coaching role and bring back Benkovic so he can integrate with his team mates for the back end of this season and more importantly the start of next.
  23. We need to remember that Ndidi only just turned 22 (and i think is about 10 months older than Hamza, a year older than Harvey Barnes) but has had to do a lot for us. Not only did he take over from the monster that is Kante and done well in the defensive stats, he has to do a lot of the donkey stuff in a midfield having had about 10 different partners from Iborra to Mendy, King to Hamza, Silva to Matty James. He also has to fly out to Nigeria or other parts of Africa for International football. Things like this may contribute to him being a little leggy but I see him and Hamza as our long term central midfield and with Hamza there it will reduce his workload. Lets not start lambasting our players when they go a little off the boil FFS
