  1. For me everything happened a bit too quickly for Demarai in his career. Debut at 17, we got him at 19/20 and he has been in and out of the side ever since. He has played under Claudio, Shakespere, Puel and Rodgers as well as those who had brief caretaker roles in Appleton and Stowell. That isn't great for any of these youngsters. Anyone who knows anything about football knows this is a very talented footballer who possesses many of the attributes to become a complete player. He has raw pace, great skill (a dying art), has a pass in him and can score all sorts of goals especially from distance. He has obvious faults, especially not getting his head up and passing when he should and sometimes he can be quite selfish. However when you look at a player like Rubens Loftus-Cheek (who is 6 months older than Gray), he has had loan spells at other Premier League clubs and has come back much better for it. He has gone on to make 10 or so games for England in the process. Back to Gray, there are very few really skilful players around these days. Players like Barnes almost hits and runs, same can also be said for the likes of Mane at Liverpool or Martial when he plays out wide for United. Gray is a proper winger with skills and a great shot but needs to iron out his deficiencies, and thats why I suggest a loan to a premier league club..
  2. 433 all the way for me but with the personnel we have it will be very fluid. Kasper Riccardo - Maguire - Evans - Chilwell Tielmans - Hamza - Ndidi Ayoze - Vardy - Maddison Madders always drops into midfield and that will allow our attacking fullbacks to play higher up the pitch for width. Playing Tielemans, Maddison and Ayoze will allow them to move all over the attacking third but for me, this formation only works with Ndidi and Hamza as protection. We played much better with them two in the side last season.
  3. Last night was the first time I saw him and I was very impressed with his composure and decision making. Personally, Id keep him and not loan him out. The signing of Ayoze seems to point to us going from wide wingers to narrow no 10s like Ayoze and Maddison being a slight tactical change. If so, I`d have him as back-up and cup game time as we wouldnt have back-up for those aforementioned "No 10s". Personally, if I was to loan anyone out it would be Gray. I think he needs a run of games in the Premier League and maybe one of the promoted sides or a Brighton could be possible destinations.
  4. So who else was missing for us from last nights two teams. Kasper Ward Chilwell Benkovic Hamza James Silva Ndidi Maddison Gray Barnes Kapustka Slimani Diabete I think the squad needs a slight trim LOL
  5. Edited as post went here instead of Scunthorpe thread LOL Cheers MGLCFC for the other two!
  6. We have a new Okazaki!! Young Justin spends more time on the floor than him! iheanacho is growing one of them weird ponytails ala Roberto Baggio back in the day.
  7. Really impressed with Leshabela, some of Perez touches and flicks were great, Albrighton just continues to be the most under-rated player we have and the energy and one touch play was very good for a season opening friendly, albeit against a pants opponent. Im not overly fancying that second half line up though LOL but still, its just about getting a run out and that fitness up.
  8. The whole Maguire thing is like writing an obituary for someone who has just gone to hospital with a stubbed toe. If he goes, we will R.I.P then but for now, the family are all hoping he survives!
  9. You must be mad to take over at Newcastle, especially as more sales seem likely. Working for that w****r must be a living nightmare. I have always enjoyed exchanges with Newcastle fans over the years and feel for them. Just one thing on Arsenal, what the fudge is going on there? Why are they not opening the cheque book on defenders?
  10. If he dies in the next 80 years I`ll be blaming you for tempting fate.
  11. I really like the way clubs like us operate at the moment. The days of it being a given that sides like United can just turn up and bully our clubs for our best players might not quite be over but they are definitely harder for them to achieve. For us specifically, I love how we dig our heels in at times. We did it with Riyad and mate him wait, we had to let Kante go because of his buy-out clause and Drinky almost went with our blessing. You would have thought that 3 or 4 go every season but instead we are adding players that arguably other "bigger" clubs should get. United may well still grab Maguire but it will be on our terms, not theirs.
  12. I seriously love my club! I thought we had a 1% chance of getting this one over the line when the season ended. Tielemans had done more than enough to alert the so called big 6. Somehow we have convinced him to come here. It really is an amazing deal not only to sign someone like him at that age and ability but at that price. Its a sensational deal and one that makes me be proud to be a Leicester fan. Is anyone looking forward to this season or is it just me?!
  13. When we got him on loan, the talk then was he was available for 40m. He played amazingly, the transfer market has gone bonkers and it seems we still get him for 40m. How?? Great deal by the club.
  14. Fantastic signing. We are buying a player on the up, used to England, used to the Premier League and a player that is a very good finisher. We need goals from the midfield or attacking midfielders/No 10 role and I think he is the man to add them. I also hope this signing signals a subtle change to formation that allows us to play a 433/451 option (with and without the ball) that doesnt include this obsession with wingers. I love Harvey Barnes and am a fan of Demerai but for me to have two of that type in the side and only one central midfielder with Ndidi makes us look weak. It also lessens the chances of our attacking full-backs running into space. Id go as far to say we look at our best when we have Hamza, Ndidi and hopefully Tielemans in a midfield 3.If we start the season with something like this Id be delighted.. Kasper Riccardo - Maguire - Evans - Chilwell Hamza - Ndidi - Tielemans Maddison - Vardy - Ayoze
  15. The problem for Kelechi is he was largely a bench warmer at Man City but did OK when called upon. He neither had loan spells or an extended run in the team so buying such an inexperienced player was always going to be a huge gamble. Unfortunately for him is he joined Leicester City who play with one forward and thats always going to be Vardy. Had he trotted up at a team like Everton or Southampton who have hot and miss strikers or a side that rotates more then he may get a decent run and find his confidence. I think I would loan him out for 6 months so he can find his scoring boots again.
  16. True, he played behind a target man striker, drifts out to the left and mostly to the right and if you see him play is quite fluid as he drops deeper, ala Maddison to find positions. Its just at Newcastle they were quite a defensive set-up and didnt get many forward. For me, I dont like this idea we play two out and out wingers like Barnes and Gray all the time. I really prefer we play three in midfield and have creators around who can get wide and are fluid. I say that because I think Hamza and Ndidi should start for us with Tielemans (if signed) as we play much better with a 3 in MC because it allows our attacking full-backs to bomb on. They dont do it as much with out and out wingers. Kasper Riccardo - Benkovic - Maguire - Chilwell Tielemans - Ndidi - Hamza Ayoze - Vardy - Maddison We seem very light weight with wingers so this mad obsession with us adding another one makes little sense when we have the full-backs we have.
  17. I cant say I have been to Leicester at home much over the years as I moved out of the area and abroad at various times but what I can remember from the late 80s and early 90s is that WYS was anthemic. We may only have had 12-15k fans for home games back then but the atmosphere was cracking with WYS sounding a belter. Personally, what I like about it is its unique. Its something not anyone else does which is what its all about. Learn the words, bang it out and if song properly it does sound like a proper footballing song.
  18. That Ashley is some serious piece of work, no wonder Rafa buggered off. To me, Perez is perfect for us. He is 26 later this month, is a Prem player and has been in the country for 5 years. After loads of mega teams were linked in him earlier in his career he opted for Newcastle but like most younger players took time to settle in. He has skill but importantly is an excellent finisher and gives us something different. The major frustration for me last season was us creating a shed load of chances and we couldnt hit a cows ass with a Banjo. We need more goals and I would get Perez in all day because he knows the league. We all know what happens when you sign players who dont know the league, its hit and miss whether they will adapt (cough Slimani!!). Anyway, get him in as we need 10 goals out of someone in wider positions!
  19. An otherwise attractive lass?!!! I like how its the shirt that gets the blame for her looks LOL
  20. He hasnt fulfilled his potential but when a guy is sold by Liverpool and not loaned, you know the staff there dont rate him that highly. On top of that, he cant even command a place at Bournemouth after a 15m transfer so has been by-passed. I hope there is no truth to this rumour as we have two players on our books with more potential and who arent regular starters in Gray and Barnes.
  21. Its got nothing to do with "If we really wanted to sign him". The player himself has already said on a few occasions that he will wait for the season to end before making a decision. That to me is a clear "come and get me" to Englands so called top clubs. He would be a bit of a mad man to be shouting out that he wants to stay here when the reality is the likes of Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal will be coming. Im certain he wont be with us. Im more worried about who of our actual contracted players we will lose.
  22. This thread reminds me of the Claudio Ranieri appointment thread. We are ready to throw someone under the bus before he has even made any signings (with his recruitment team). How can we possibly judge him without seeing what he can do and without seeing how he copes in a different market place. He may well have unearthed loads of players that Celtic couldnt afford, he may have found players who didnt want to go to a largely cold climate playing against a bunch of donkey teams and then there are the players who wanted higher wages. His pool of what he can afford and persuade to sign is much smaller than what he can do now being at not over the premier league and the pulling power we have, being in England and having money. BTW, before we start making out as if every signing we have made was Messi or Ronaldo, we have wasted tens of millions and 50m of that on Slimani and Iheanacho.
  23. The only normal Arsenal fan is my son.Yes,I have failed as a parent. Why did I move down here LOL!!
