  1. Im not a fan of not giving people a chance, whether its those slating new signings and putting them in the bin after a few games or even the manager. But lets be fair here, Cooper was on a hiding to nothing when he joined. It seemed like a desperation appointment, most of the signings seem desperate, and all in all there is zero feel good factor for us and I cant see it getting any better. I think we need to make a move now and get him out but I am not sure who will want to come to us who is as good as the manager we all want. We arent the Leicester of even 2 years ago in our relegation season so I am not overly convinced we will have many managers to choose from.
  2. We were loud when we were singing "When your Smiling" before kick-off. and then we were painfully quiet. At no stage did it feel like we were there ready to sing our hearts out regardless. Its a cop out to blame Cooper for this as well, the fans were really flat considering we won two, are at home and against the neighbours. They hardly stopped singing, we couldnt be bothered (again)
  3. That must of been one hell of a team talk LOL. Before I get battered, I want Cooper Out. Im sure he is a good man but its not the right fit for us. The fans arent with him, "his" signings have largely been shockers and players we would have bought maybe if we were a mid-table Championship club apart from Okoli and a great loan signing in Buonanotte are here, but I am uncomfortable even with this signing if we have no Buy option. I hope we dont become that club that has to get loans in as a Prem club FFS!! Anyway, I digress.. Now the "but". We got the attacking team selection most wanted by formation and players. Its a shame it didnt work as Ndidi carried on playing as an attacking midfielder too which left us woefully short in midfield. The first half we did well and gave as good as we got, but two attempts to clear by Buona and JJ were schoolboy basics attempts for their 1st, Winks giving the ball away for the 2nd, Faes/Mads all over the shop for the third. These are individual errors that you would hope to the 3 in 6 months not in one half of football. That isn't Coopers fault. I cant believe how flat we were, even our fans. We were out-sung from the get-go and really didnt get behind the lads to be honest. Maybe thats Cooper, maybe thats us anyway. I think its best Cooper leaves and we get someone a bit more tactical, a bit more forward thinking and someone who we will get behind from the get-go.
  4. Thats our best 11, many like me have been crying out for this. I expect us to lose 0-5 now so we can start with the Palace and Fulham rejects instead!!!
  5. Living and working in London, I am really not looking forward to this. It could be 6 or 7 here even with the 532 formation we will no doubt play.
  6. Riccardo played well in spells against Walsall. JJ has only got to 70% of his pre-serious injury best and looked better at LB in his pomp, albeit with Barnes ahead of him. IMO if Riccardo gets a couple more games under his belt he will be a big asset in both halves of the pitch. Riccardo, like Mavididi and Fatawu should be starting for us ahead of the likes of the new weak signings we spent millions on
  7. I cant believe I am typing this so soon but... Out during the International break. His record with Forest wasn't that great, his away form for them in the latter end was woeful and he has been decent as a manager at best. However I was fully behind the appointment as he has got good qualities and its about giving him the chance. The reality is though for me (and the club), we were linked to so many players but couldn't get them over the line. I know people will say its because we had a point deduction looming. I still believe Cooper doesn't strike me as someone who is that persuasive. The sanctioning of panic buys like Skipp (and that fee) and 2 strikers even Crystal Palace dont want means this was a poor Transfer window and I would say Cooper is partially to blame. Beyond that, his pre-season results and performances along with prem match tactics and team selections are woeful. Riccardo not playing, Vestegaard dropped without reason, not starting the two players who I had pinned my hopes on making moves in the prem, namely Fatawu and Mavididi in the same starting line up, selecting Winks Ndidi and Skipp in same midfield. Cordoba-Reid ahead of Mavidi. The list is endless really. There is a real stinky mood about the club at the moment. The boardroom decisions from Season tickets, manager appointment, transfers including not selling Soumare and Kristensen, hated by others over FFP, results etc. As harsh as this sounds.I think we get rid and try something else. I`d rather go down fighting with a bit of attacking intent instead of this stubborness to play new signings who are bang average ahead of the lads who got us up.
  8. Its very strange to me that we are picking Cordoba-Reid instead of Mav. I get a new manager has to come in, freshen things up and change a few things, but a 3 year old who hasnt achieved much for a player who had a very good season and his best ever? It makes little sense.
  9. LOL 2/3rds dont want Cooper, a very similar percentage wanted Maresca out with a few matches to go when "he" had blown a double digit lead!!! We need to be fair here and remember we are not the Leicester of 24 months ago. Loads of freebies gone, arguably 100m put in the bin instead of selling. points deduction coming,. squad now bottom 5 really. I cant see why we should be fussy
  10. Cooper it is! I think he will be solid and give youth a chance. Lets be fair, with all these free transfers we have lost in the last 12 months coupled with FFP and impending points deduction we are lucky we dont end up with Paul ince or Neil Warnock. I can see Potter managing a top 6 club, I can also see the FA opting for him to replace Southgate to be honest. Potter would do a Maresca and going to someone bigger within a year anyway so better stick to Safety Steve I reckon. I believe he will become the 9th different Nationality we have at the helm and our first Sheep molester.
  11. No denial? What do you expect him to do? He would be mad not to at least talk to bigger clubs just like our top players have before they moved on. As for lazy journalists putting 2 and 2 together to make 5, it isn't new and is to be expected. Anyway, this is all pure speculation so lets calm down and see what happens.
  12. So with "everyone" knowing what was at stake, with the pressure he was under, players contracts winding down, best players sold, off field problems etc, why do so many not rate him?! I think the point is for me, he has done an amazing job. Vestegaard was dead and buried before he arrived, Vards looked bereft of confidence and almost finished, Hamza also not at the standard but galvanized, Ndidi played in attacking midfield LOL and most of his new signings have worked out well under an effective system in this division. Why did 3/4s of this forum vote for him to be sacked when we went through that wobble? He achieved what he did despite our negativity and for me, his achievements are still played down. Most "expected" us to go up and him winning the Championship was a forgone conclusion for many before a ball was even kicked, like its ever that simple.
  13. Andy Peake.v Liverpool 1st Top flight goal, not bad for an 18 year old local lad!
  14. Dilly Ding Dilly Done. I`ll get my coat. Thanks for the memories that will last me a lifetime!
  15. That article is stating a consideration for Maresca is the potential points deduction, you have stated "Supposedly one of the factors that has encouraged Enzo to speak to Chelsea is the impending points deduction" One is a journalists viewpoint that it may be a consideration, you have elevated this to it being almost factual and thats why he is encouraged to speak to Chelsea. I am not saying thats not potentially in his thoughts, in fact players leaving on frees, little money to spend, potentially losing KDH, not really being wanted by much of the fan bases are all legitimate reasons to consider leaving, however lets not speak like we know what he is doing as fact. Even if he left, I`d be delighted that he got us up as Champions where the likes of Leeds and Southampton couldn't (one of course will make it via the play-offs) and in that, he galvanized a relegated side that lost so many top players. I think many in here underestimate how important it was to go up. It may sound dramatic but if we stayed down it could have seen us do a Sheffield Weds, Sunderland, Forest etc and stayed away from the prem for years, especially with the financial problems we would have had without the bumper money coming our way now we are in the prem. Thank god for Maresca, I hope he stays.....
  16. Supposedly? LOL where did you hear that? IMO if he leaves its because of the lack of love we showed him and his team during spells this season,, especially when we had a blip late in the season. 3/4s of those who voted in here wanted him out and many cant wait for him to fail as they know his system "wont work". How they know I dont know, maybe they had a season on Football Manager or something. The very fact that he is being linked to clubs like Sevilla and Chelsea shows how much potential people see in him. Its just a shame that many of our fans cant see what he has done for us in extremely challenging circumstances.
  17. If you win the league but three quarters of the fan base want you out, largely because the entitled (Yawn but its true) were counting how many points we would win by, hopeful of 110+ due to their delusion, then it undermines all his achievements and he should be thinking "WTF do they expect?" The football wasn't scintillating at times but in fairness he didn't really have the tools. Ndidi playing in an offensive position, new wingers, attempts at a new system with an inverted full back, his strikers misfiring so forced to play Vards more than I am sure he planned to and relying on players like Praet, Vestegard, Hamza who looked finished at our club. I think he has done an amazing job when you forget that real football isnt a game of Football Manager.but he has to deal with real life situations. For me he did great and we should be delighted we have him and I for one will be happy to see how his tactical and coaching skills kick in if he is backed and has "his" team. I find it unreal really that we are not praising the bloke but being a bit "typical" Leicester of criticizing a winner, because we are not happy with the win.I heard it back in the day with a bit of hoofball that was about in the Martin O`Neil days but he was a winner as well. I seem to remember "we" were on the verge of burying him before he took us up and to success via the play-offs, and we did something similar with Rodgers by talking down his achievements despite him winning our first and only FA Cup and finishing 5th in the league. Once again, the entitled turned on him when we fell away from a Champions League spot then I seem to remember and that was before our run that led to relegation (BTW if he stayed I still think we stayed up but fan pressure put paid to that) If only people had a sense of perspective that we are not some major club, and backed the team vocally at home to spur us on more without having this moany entitled ways that somehow has spread around our club since we won the Prem.
  18. Stabilize the club, upstairs and on the pitch. The shambles that saw us lose so many players on frees and failing with FFP means heads should roll. Getting rid of the dead wood, bringing more hunger to the squad as older players depart, bringing in more youth players and avoiding relegation would do for me.
  19. If I was Enzo and I read this forum for what seems as an accurate fans opinion, I`d get out sharpish. Approx a quarter of our fans wanted him out in a recent poll and even in this thread, most seem to not give a toss if he went. Its a shame so many underestimate his achievement. All I seem to read is we had the best squad blah blah blah but no one talks about how he trained players into a new system and players who looked finished like Vestegaard, Hamza, Praet, Daka and even Vards to a lesser extent contributed. All our best players left like Barnes and Madders, loads more are running down their contracts and we were relegated with confidence low. However,. cracking signings like Fatawu, Winks, Mads and Mavididi, creating a system that was so successful we won the league despite off the pitch drama and despite "big" clubs around us. we were the best of the bunch. I want him to stay but If he reads places like this he will know most dont fancy his style or decisions and a couple of losses at the start of the season and the entitled among our fan base will be calling for his head.
  20. Yes the buck stops with the manager, but lets analyse what tools he had to work with. Many left, many out of contract, many on big contracts but not the players they were. Relegated prems squad feeling sorry for themselves. Also lets talk players performance. Away to Leeds, we lose a game that we should have been 4-0 up.It was men v Boys for most of the game but we capitulated after not taking chances. In both games v fellow promotion rivals Ipswich off the hook with late goals, having dominated especially at home. Thats not down to Enzo. I cant blame the likes of Vards, club legend but like all players, time catches up with them and they arent quite as effective. Some of the chances the guy has missed this season has almost been shocking but as I say, its not his fault. In fact the stats say he has had a good season. Iheanacho looks to me like he is winding down his contract and is looking forward to his next move. Ndidi the same, he isnt breaking his back for us and running around like he was. Despite all the challenges, we have seen Mads in goal, Winks, KDH and Mavididi all have very good seasons whilst many others like Riccardo has been resurgent, with hit and miss from most of the rest although that may be unfair on Vestegaard who at times has been outstanding. I still stand by the fact that with all the challenges put to Enzo as a first time Manager here, he does not deserve 80% of our fan base screaming for a change.
  21. The most expensive squad? Its not his fault he inherited overpaid players who cost a lot is it. I think the fact that he has motivated what he had left despite losing more players than the other relegated prem clubs,to me makes the season a success regardless. As I type, we are the best performing side from the 3 relegated, despite our downturn in form which coincidentally comes amidst off field problems,
  22. Promotion is important for the obvious financial reasons but to me I want us to get rid of all this dead wood and reset. Doing that in the prem will be a nightmare, but I`d still prefer if we were doing it from there than the Championship. Just like our Great Escape, Prem win, First FA Cup win and the relegation after a few seasons around the Champions League spots, we need to be prepared for ups and downs as a Leicester fan. Capitulation? Its not over yet
  23. And the manager has taken us to the brink of promotion. Im still not sure why people like yourself believe that when we release/sell/loan 7 first teamers, Leeds let 2 go (3 including Harrison's loan, 4 if you include Sinistra) and bought in decent players, whilst Southampton let 6 high profile players go and thats why they have struggled believe that we havent had a good season. I may be in the minority and I get people feel its gone Pete Tong due to the 6 losses in 10 but I think the season, cup run and overall strides we have made with all them sales, upheaval behind the scenes, new manager and system/personal changes has been a relative success.
  24. Mate, if the season was 20 or 30 games, I`d agree with you. If every horse or dog that lead half way around the track won, we would all be millionaires as it will be easier to predict. However, even if we only draw our game in hand, it means we are top with 3 games to go. Surely you would have taken that? I remember chatting with my brother after our sales, and some that came in who had big question marks over them (Winks, Mavidi, Cannon etc) and also the manager, completely untested. I did say, we would take the play-offs and a reset, hopefully blooding some youths and unearthing some gems. Lets hope that all our fans at home get behind the team as the simple equation is we win the 3 home games we go up, regardless
